Isola Little Italy
I have vivid memories of my grandmother turning plain bread into amazing desserts, simple apples into incredible fritters sprinkled with a little sugar and honey, and even treating my sunburns with olive oil. Thirty years later, I still savor every meal and moment.
Isola is proud to serve the finest local ingredients, dalla vite, from the vine. I hope you enjoy every bite, plucked from my family tree for your table. Buon appetito!

Our waitress was great and the food as well! The Brie and asparagus pizza was really good
Excellent crust with flavorful toppings. We ordered the margherita and the salsiccia, both were great. Worth going to.
Attentive service. Trendy place. Clean. Ecclectic pulse. Pizzas were the rage there. The burrata appetizer was amazingly lush, creamy and light. The fresh basil tasted hand picked minutes ago. Everyone was happy!
Unfortunately no room to eat dessert as we were so full!
We went for Happy Hour and were very impressed with the prices for drinks and food!
Very noisy, small dining area even with patio seating. Not quite a romantic destination but fun energy and enjoyed the people watching. The pizzas were great and well priced/sized to share accompanied with a salad or starter like we did. Despite being super busy the service was sufficient and attentive despite an initial lackluster welcome by a hostess who did not greet us or present any kind of welcome. Overall a reasonably priced and quality experience in Little Italy.
Service was a bit slow and then scattered. Had to ask for new water carafes. Felt a bit rushed out.
Great place for date night pizza was fire.
Slow service, rude from when we got there. The noise level was rather high. Wouldn’t recommend.
A perfect meal before theatre. Best pizza we have had in San Diego so far. The arugula salad was refreshing and a great compliment. Can’t wait to go back and try another pizza combo.
The service was friendly and attentive. We got our food quicker than expected and it was hot, fresh, and really good. We’ll go back.
Great food great service like always. Fun way for us to celebrate National Pizza day!
Delicious, fresh and authentic ingredients coupled with Italian charm and industrial ambience. Perfezione!
Nicely prepared wood fired pizza along with innovative Italian dishes. Options for street dining or their back garden. I liked the spicy brussel sprouts appetizer.
Great pizza! Attentive waitress. Good time!
The food is fresh. The service is attentive. Required: bring good friends to have great time with❣️❤️❣️
I had a salad with duck, nice change. Presented artistically. My friend had salmon with fingerling potatoes. She was pleased. People watching from front tables. The tables are close, so it can be a problem if the people are loud.
Good authentic pizza, great service, nice ambiance.
It was okay. With so many other options around, I think I’d like to try another the next time. The bruschetta was a great start to the meal, but after that, it was just kind of meh - good pizza and gnocchi that was fine, but nothing note worthy... until dessert which was definitely pretty delicious. I got the vanilla gelato and my husband got the budino- both were yummy! However, I ordered coffee and it came to the table cold. Not a little less than hot, not warm, not tepid - cold. Obviously they took it off our bill and I didn’t drink it, but still....
Servers were so sweet to our kids!! Food was amazing
The place was rustic and loud and seemed to cater to the younger crowd; 20 through 30’s. The pizza was good however the Bolognese was not one of our favorites. Stick with the pizza and you won’t be disappointed.
Nice staff.. cute interior except for back of place is removed and very bland-they need to open it up and make it more aesthetic - waitress forgot one dish we ordered and pizza took way too long and was ‘ok’.. nothing to write home about..
The traditional Neapolitan style margarita pizza was excellent. The wine our waitress recommended from the family reserve was great. And the chocolate pudding dessert with whipped cream (budoni?) made my day! The bathroom lighting is too dark.
Got in at happy hour. That was awesome. Big pizza by HH standards and my 6 year old loved it. The beet salad was good too. Thumbs up.
It was NYE and we were thankful to find somewhere for a small group of friends that didn’t have a set menu but still had good food in an area a little away from all the madness. Noise level also meant we could actually have a conversation without shouting.
The pizza’s and bruschetta we had were fine but nothing mind blowing, a little softer underneath for a Napolitan style pizza than I would’ve liked. Value was good though. Wine was great and reasonably priced, and we had Prosecco at midnight.
Our server was sweet but clearly the staff were also having a bit of a merry new year, which meant the service could have been better and we were often having to chase things up and had a large collection of glasses on our table.
I would be curious to go back on a regular service night and see how things differ. A solid option in Little Italy but not a super memorable meal.
