It was a wonderful restaurant!! The food was soooooo yummy and DJ was awesome!
Excellent service and food. The Pineapple upside down cake was warm and beautiful
Delicious food and drink! We love this place - the drinks are delicious, the Painkiller and Pineapple Mojito are our favorites. The apps are fun and fit the theme well, and the shrimp is delicious - we always go for the Jerk shrimp! One of our favorite places when we are looking to treat ourselves!
The food was very good. The environment was very nice with a lot of outdoor space. We’ll look forward to dining here again soon!
Patient staff, accommodating per they moved my party to the outside patio because we asked about it several
I love the food and the restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful for what they are allowed to do. I hate the ordering system. I think it’s a little over the top. I felt like I spent the whole time on my cell phone ordering various items instead of engaging with my family. It also takes away from the waitress being paid for a skill like anticipating refills on drinks or timing appetizers and entrees. You become the waitress. Everytime you need anything from a drink refill to a menu item, you have to get out your phone and pay... including 20% for “service fee” which includes someone dropping off drinks and food. That’s it. You order the drinks, pay, order the appetizer, pay, order dinner pay, order free refills, order dessert pay... if you want extra sauce or extra napkins you hope someone is nearby. It takes away from the entire experience. Maybe I will suggest it or go back when service returns to normal.
Food was good but the poor service made it not worth the extra 20% gratuity added to the bill before you even meet your server. My husband tried to get ketchup 3 times, asking 3 different service associates and at the end of the night, never received it.
The wait staff was very helpful. The energy, music & food was great.
It’s an upbeat atmosphere, great for hanging out with family and friends. There two bars upstairs Outside roof top with great music however when it is cold they do not supply heaters. The waiters are mediocre they do not service you to their full potential, we waited for things like water which ended up coming at the end of our meal and two waiters had been informed to bring them. The food is over priced and basic, just ok not anything to brag about. I would only recommend for the night life as I heard it was good on Fridays.
The food was great as usual. Our table captain was very helpful.
I love it here! Lol! Such an amazing place to go to!
Had an awesome time. Food was great and rooftop was great. All covid guidelines in place to have a good safe experience.
Seafood. But missed the wow. Decor is nice. But not a fan of order online and multiple orders. To get meal delivered correctly. Apps. Then dinner. The desert. Also mixed service results bc of covid.
Pretty to look at restaurant, food was ok. They have a touchless order system that requires you to pay a fee for each order, so when we ordered a second beer we paid the fee again, not a fan. Food was mediocre, fish and chips was like Long John Silvers. Husband had sandwich that was ok. I waited through the whole meal for a tea refill that never came. We won't be going back.
I believe the new way they are doing at Island shrimp is terrible. Yes, it's covid friendly. But, they did not explain the new system. They were also hard to find when needing help. Very poor service which was disappointed because I used to love going to island shrimp.
First, although there was no one in front of us, it still took ten minutes to seat us, then it was almost 15 minutes before our waitress acknowledged us, at which time she told us we were her only table, it took about 20 minutes before our drinks arrived. I think the poor service was due to the automatic 20 percent tip
I love love love this place. Ty was absolutely great and so was the new hire (cook) that came out and explained what I wanted to order to me. We will definitely be back!!
New Job Celebration
The island vibe is great and the music is awesome. Nice location and inviting staff.. food is bland, no seasoning .. and the new technology of how to pay your bill is aweful.. loved the experience
The ordering app system is a very poor system. This is the 2nd restaurant we have experienced this and in both cases - service was incredibly slow. It took more than 30 minutes to get our appetizer. Paying as you go and ordering each course (and even soft drinks) through the app makes for poor customer experience.
Food was below average. And the music was so loud (set up on portable speakers in the lobby) it felt like a nightclub. The theme of the restaurant is cute - but the loud beating dance music completely killed what could be a fun “island ambience.”
We will not be back
It was an incredible experience with extraordinary food!
We set down.
Brought water to table
Then no one else come to check on you
Tell I called back to get refill
Then they lost half my order
Then come to my table at like I was n the wrong for asking for refills
Great food and ambiance however the new COVID changes make ordering extremely difficult. You have to pay and tip when you order (in advance pretty much). It probably took us 20min just to put an order in...If you ordered drinks, you have to pay before they will get it. For the seniors in the group its very challenging to navigate and pay on their phone and to figure out who is paying the bill becomes awkward, or who's phone to order it on...I miss an actual menu and tipping for service given based on the service...which was minimal, had to track down a real person...felt abandoned until after food/drinks were on the table. Food quality makes up for it though.
We decided to try this place for celebrating a birthday. When we arrived the place was pretty much empty and we ended up being sat in a pretty disconnected location on the 2nd floor despite the entire first floor being totally empty. We felt totally disconnected from everything and the location was super hot due to the sun directly on that space. With the shade down, we were sweating.
The food and drinks were all really good. No complaints at all there. However, the contactless service design means we basically sit there and fend for ourselves if something is forgotten. For example, we ordered some starters to share and they arrived and no thought was given to providing small plates. When we finally were able to ask because someone happened to be dropping off something else, it still took two more trips to get us 7 plates. For a restaurant that isn’t busy, this should have been handled up front. Another example is that all of those glasses, dishes, and trays, (15+ items), piled up in the center of the table during the meal and no one ever came by to clear until we were nearly finished and waiting on dessert. Now, don’t get me wrong, the service was friendly, but the contactless option with mandatory minimum 20% tip for almost no service is asking a bit much. Clearly, there is no incentive to shine and make an effort this way.
The food was the bright spot. It was very good. However, it took a lengthy amount of time to arrive, again, for a restaurant fairly empty.
This place has amazing potential but just feels like COVID-19 adaptations and some other decisions of where to seat us isolated us and left us with the sense of being an afterthought. For our table spending nearly $250 dollars, I expected a better overall experience.
Food was not that great. Drinks overpriced. It was reggae night and barely heard reggae music.
This was my first visit to Island Shrimp Co., and my company and I both enjoyed the atmosphere. Only feedback is the server could have been a little more attentive.
Meals are more like tapas style. My husband and I normally share several appetizers instead of a meal. The pork fries were enough for 1 person and the coconut shrimp did not taste anything like coconut. Just heavily fried. The drinks were great. However, very pricey. My mixed drink was $15 and I feel I paid more for the look than the actual drink itself. Service was good given the precautions. Very clean. We went on a saturday and sat roof top. Tables were spaced out well. Biggest take away is the amount of food served is over priced.
I understand the menu process with social distancing to protect the customer and staff but the service/food quality and response time was poor. The rice was over cooked while the shrimp was cold and over seasoned. We were not assigned a specific person to assist us with additional needs (refills on water and extra napkins). To top this a bottle purchase had to be made of over $100 to secure a rooftop table for dinner. This party of 12 was very dissatisfied.
Everything about the experience was great! Making reservations on open table was easy.
My husband and I both enjoyed the contactless ordering. It made us feel safer and we had our meal at our own pace.
The food and drink were delicious and the ambiance outside was like a slice of vacation.
The food was amazing. I got the shrimp roll, and it was out of this world. The service, however, left much to be desired. There was only one guy really working, and he deliberately ignored my trying to get his attention. I don’t want to be too hard on him, as he was bussing tables and serving singlehandedly. Everyone else seemed to just be standing around and talking. We had to beg for our drinks and extra napkins. Not worth the 20% gratuity they include automaticity on your bill. But the food and ambience were great, so we’d go back
Delicious meal. The nachos and dole whip are absolutely to die for.
The food was very flavorful & very good, and the staff was very friendly, however, the service was terrible. Getting simple things, such as plates, utensils, water, took multiple requests, very long waits, and even requesting to speak with a manager to get it. It also took a very long time to receive our food and drinks after ordering. Thankfully the food was hot when we finally got it, and it was very good. I'm not sure where the breakdown was because it was not very crowded/busy, so maybe it is the contactless ordering. I was very disappointed in the service fee automatically added to the bill...I don't know what that was for, because the service was terrible and not worthy of that fee. I hope they can resolve their issues because I would go back again if I knew the service were better.
Having paper, throw away menus would be very helpful. Ordering by phone with an automatic 20% gratuity is not necessary and is obsessive and the service was not worth the 20% as the customer does everything but deliver the food to the table. Some guests do not bring phones into a restaurant.
PS..Tazza and other restaurants have the throw away menus. I will not return to Island Shrimp again any time soon,
I will not recommend Island Shrimp right now.
Amazing food! Flavorful and fresh. Music was a bit loud
It was great and i love the staff and energy at island shrimp
The food was rapidly decreased in satisfaction since my first visit. Considering the service has gotten worse I'm not sure if I will be back again
Drinks and food are overpriced. The shrimp in the pineapple shrimp boat need to be seasoned better and larger portions of both the mac salad and coconut rice need to be given. Other than that, everything else was on point
Atmosphere was great and the food was good.
The food was horrible and staff was great.. I will never return
Very nice atmosphere I’ll be back And the service was great
