Island Creek Oyster Bar
Looking for another reservation? Visit one of our sister restaurants: Island Creek Oyster Bar (Burlington), Row 34 (Boston & Portsmouth), Eastern Standard, Branch Line, and our cocktail bar, The Hawthorne.
Being from Massachusetts you can get jaded with seafood. After you move away, you want only the best. Which is what Island creek is. Best oysters hands down. Local and not. Highly recommended
Great oysters from both coast as well as a decent craft beer list
Great selection of oysters a little pricy but top quality.
Everything was fantastic! Thank you!
Good place with excellent food and service
Drinks are great..
Lobster roll not so great. Clam chowder soupy and really only taste bacon.
Quality of the little necks not desirable
and very pricey.
Oysters also pricey but delightful..
Awesome! We will be back!
The service was very slow although it was only 5:30PM on a Thursday. My lobster roll was very watery and not very flavourful.
One of Boston's great establishments. Oyster Sliders and Raw Oysters for days...
Really lovely overall. Thanks!!
Beautiful restaurant with outstanding raw bar and great wine list!
Food was incredible. Service was overall disappointing.
Another delicious experience at this fantastic restaurant!
This is the best seafood restaurant in Boston. The oysters are always superb and food is excellent. Wait staff is great. Worth the money.
Love love love
One of our favorite places! Great oysters and seafood, and the best lobster roll in the city!
Best lobster roll in the city, amazing raw bar. Excellent service. Pricey, but worth it.
Enjoyed the modern ambiance, pleasant staff, and of course fresh seafood. Definitely recommend, and will visit again when in town!
Service was very good. Crab cake didn't taste fresh. Other items ordered were good.
We had our wedding anniversary and had a perfect experience with Mat.
Unbelievable dining experience. Best fish place in the city hands down. Never disappoints!
Trendy restaurant with good service and seriously overpriced wine list. Great oysters, greasy main dish (salmon with farro, soaked in grease) $200 for 2, with the bottle of indescript ‘champagne’, dozen of oysters and 2 main dishes. Average food with a high price.
Great service, delicious food, and a memorable evening.
Oyster are spot on. Lobster was flat and disappointing. They should hook up with a real lobster source.. just my opinion
Food is Outstanding. Service and Staff on point !! Enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner the next night ...
I loved it!
The Oysters were good. The fish was dry & overcooked. Not a do-over.
We make a point of dining here every time we are in Boston.
Our server was wonderful. The island creek oysters are consistently perfect. The food is always good. The prices are on the expensive side, that’s why we only really go on special occasions.
The food was delicious. My husband and I shared 2 main courses which were split for us by the kitchen separately plating half for each of us and staggering them so we could enjoy each dish.
Service was excellent. Almost too good —the bus girl tried to clear everything off between our 2 main courses. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
Only one negative. We came in to eat very early and the restaurant was fairly empty but we were seated at a table right next to kitchen door. There were no other diners in our half of the restaurant yet the table they put us at was clearly one of the worst in the restaurant. I have a theory that open table reservations get the worst seating but have been told by restaurants that is not the case. This reservation supported that theory.
Oyster selection was excellent!
Amateurish service. Great oyster (but it’s boston. There are great oysters everywhere). The cooks are either incompetent or uncaring. Fish is over cooked. Vegetable garnishes are indifferently prepared. Music is too loud. Dined here 4-5 times hoping it will improve. It hasn’t.
I was very excited to try this restaurant as it had great reviews. We came for a birthday celebration our first night in Boston. We had reservations and were seated right away. They had a customized message for the birthday guest which was special. The waiter we had was not a great experience. This is not a cheap place and service should be 5 stars. I felt as if he didn't want to be there, no smile, threw the envelope down as he was passing by to put the menu in for a keep sake and never even asked how everything was while rushing around, again we felt like he just wanted us to leave for the next table guests to come. The table's food was delicious except for my daughter's steak. She cannot eat steak if it is less than medium and it was medium rare, no one came to ask how the food was and she didn't want to try to get the waiter's attention due to the birthday celebration. So she left her meal pretty much untouched. I regret leaving the higher than average tip that I did. I only did it at the time, thinking they must share tips and not all should suffer because of the server. (I have a child in the hospitality industry, so I know they depend on tips)
When we first got there and I saw the menu and thought we would eat here a couple of times. After the experience with the waiter I would rather spend this kind of money elsewhere, where the staff smile and are happy they have customers spending this kind of money on food they are proud to ask if you are enjoying or not. Just a note that a smile and a quick how is your meal goes a long way. It would have changed our whole experience.
Oysters were amazing and the cocktails were tasty as well.
Always good. Our waitress Alex was great.
Service was inconsistent...we’ve been here before and not experienced such haphazard service...we had two different servers all thru the meal for some reason ...ordered cocktails..took 20 minutes to get them...no apology
Said they would get us something...never brought it, poured a half glass of rose because bottle was empty and said they would bring more...they didn’t until prompted and it was a different server so he seemed suspicious of our request, said we wanted to order wine after we had time to look at the wine list, server never came back until serving our dinners then couldn’t recommend any wine under $100 but thought they all were “cool”...must have said that four times...ended up with a good bottle of wine and the food was excellent ...very strange experience
Incredibly fresh oysters!
Great oysters and apps. The service staff was nice to work with. I was lucky to go on a Sunday afternoon in February. Not crowded and very laid back ambience. Definitely try!
Had been for dinner many times, but tried brunch. Was fabulous! Don’t miss the giant honey rosemary biscuit!
