Island Creek Oyster Bar - Boston
Looking for another reservation? Visit one of our sister restaurants: Island Creek Oyster Bar (Burlington), Row 34 (Boston & Portsmouth), Eastern Standard, Branch Line, and our cocktail bar, The Hawthorne.
The Hummingbird Cake was phenomenal. Service was perfect, attentive, and timely. The food came out great.
Another excellent experience at ICOB. Crispy calamari and heavenly halibut were supported by friendly hostess, our sage server, and a special birthday touch. Bravo ICOB team!
our table was not ready 1 hour after our reservation started. We were seated at a high top and our server did not come to welcome us or take a drink order for 30 minutes. People who were seated 45 minutes after us got our food before we even placed our food order. The fish was overcooked.
The food was phenomenal and we had a reservation and sat immediately. The hostess was very nice. It seemed as though we had 2 servers, one of whom was normal and fine, but the male server was spacey and didn’t always remember what we ordered. He brought over a glass abs forgot the wine and was just spacey. Also, our cold dessert took 30 minutes to come out and we were still charged for it, which I thought was not awesome. Our other food came out very quickly and was delicious. I would dine here again for sure, but I’d request not to have that server and would’ve cancelled dessert if we knew it would take 30 minutes. Thanks!
One of my favorites in Boston that NEVER disappoints -- new cocktail menu always delights, oyster selection to die for, seafood entrees equally matched by non seafood -- though you must try the lobster roe noodles, and their baked c=goods are superb. Seriously, they need to hire me for PR (I work for food) -- just love everything about the place.
Disappointing experience. They are quite proud of their wines though. Very extensive list however, only 3 bottles under $60. Average price about $150. Bottles listed as high as $460! This is not a 5 star restaurant which justify such fine wines. Servers in torn jeans and t-shirts. Extremely loud. Servers several times tried to serve us someone else's order. Very very limited yet pricey menu. Prices did not match quality. We ordered the lobster bisque - watered down tomato juice with a few chunks of lobster. No flavor whatsoever. Also ordered the steak, ok, nothing special.
One of the best restaurants we have in mind for special events/occasions.
Staff was on point with amazing recommendations. We loved everything that was put in front of us and ordered three rounds of food and drink.
Went there for the first time for Sunday Brunch before a Red Sox game.
Very nice space with prompt and friendly service. The food was excellent - very fresh . Had the blue crabmeat salad and it was very tasty . Definitely look forward to dining there again.
Went for late lunch before a game. Didn’t have the wine I asked for and was thrilled that the waiter’s suggestion was even better. The oysters were outstanding.
Karla was a great server with great recommendations for wine and oysters!!
The most succulent oysters I’ve ever had. Also our server was superb and she helped make our night fabulous!
outstanding oyster selection. I also really enjoyed the bluefish
Clam chowder, scallop & salmon entrees were delicious! Service excellent.
Not worth its price. The servant is not friendly at all.
We had a nice meal here and it was not our first time here. It was very expensive and I can't say that the value matched the expense. Our first experience was at the Burlington location and it was a nicer experience. This time we were at the Kenmore site and it was just eh and pricey.
Poor customer services, food not the greatest, the waiter clearly hates been there
The service was remarkable, adjusting the menue to suit. The lobster and scallops were excellent.
Fantastic food, wonderful staff, always impressed!
We go to ICOB all the time and love it, but this time was way beyond what we experienced before. Everything was amazing
This was the best place we ate at all weekend in Boston. The Oysters were so fresh and every other dish we had was prepared beautifully. Our server Brooke was amazing - so helpful with my dietary requirements and made the meal one to remember. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Boston!
Celebration was made extra special by the service which included a chefs treat appetizer for the table and a wonderful dessert
Food good, service attentive but not overly friendly
We loved it so much, we ate there twice! My 11 year old went on and on about the chicken, and the Executive Chef came out to meet him (and is)! The fish and chips are top notch. The scallops are to die for. The skirt steak is fantastic, and the chicken is outstanding!!!
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Island Creek and it was the perfect spot for his big night. They even customized the menu for our table with a special birthday greeting.
Shrimp cocktail - very good
Lobster bisque - good (could be creamier)
Clam chowder - very good
Monk Fish - very good
Lobster Roe Noodles - excellent
Salmon - very good
Delicious! A great place to meet with friends, talk, and enjoy superb cuisine. I loved the oyster sliders and the ceviche. One of Boston's best places.
We were late for our reservation and they still sat us without attitude. Great food and drink!
Our food and service were exceptional. Mario C was one of the best waiters we’d ever have. A wonderful night out!
Best oyster selection. Best butternilk biscuit ever!
Mario was extremely helpful and pleasant. It was our 1st time at an oyster bar...our experience was very delightful! Happy 56th Birthday, Tod! I love you! XOXO
Amazing oysters. Love trying different kinds from all over New England and the Northeast
Awesome place for a date night, great wine selection and very cool vibe, service was also 5 star!!
Disappointed in Cobb Salad, my go to everytime-not fresh wilted almost looked day old
On the other hand Oyster sliders excellent as always
Server excellent and comped us but we would have preferred to enjoy the salad & paid for it.
ICOB is my go to every time we’ve been to Boston for the last decade. The oyster selection is among the best in the country.
Service excellent. Food only fair this time. Has consistently dropped in the past year.
It’s a very pleasant dinner, and we enjoyed the delicious oysters and lobster roe noodles. Our favorites ones are island creek, row 34 and beach point. It’s quite difficult to taste nice oysters in Wuhan, so we are very happy to have this wonderful dinner experience. Definitely we would come back here again.
Our waiter, Peter, was excellent! He gave us great suggestions and made our experience very enjoyable.
The fish and chips consisted over-batteries filets that we’re actually mushy inside. Served on top of soggy French fries. Overall pretty disappointing. I hadn’t been in over a year and just not up to my expectations based on my last visit. Too bad. Mass-produces??
Enjoyed our dinner overall. Oysters on half shell and fried oyster basket excellent. Fish in fish and chips mushy. Understand they use pollock instead of a flakier white fish like cod or haddock. Wine list on the pricey side. Service excellent.
