Guests of the Island Breeze Luau will be amazed with a display of authentic Polynesian activities, cuisine, and performances.

Island Breeze Luau, located in right on the edge of the ocean of the King Kamehameha Hotel is rated the best lü'au on the Big Island by kama'äina (local residents)visitors and travel writers. The luau begins with a lei greeting and picture taking. An open bar, arts and crafts await you. The imu (traditional underground oven) ceremony, is also a part of the exciting beginning to your Island Breeze ohana (family). There are many ways to participate in the luau activities: weave a coconut frond, learn how to open a coconut, learn the art of hula, get a Polynesian tattoo, and take the time to meet and talk to some of the performers.

A "luau" inside an air-conditioned ballroom. For the nearly $100/person price, you can't even get a decent drink. The Mai-Tais were made with fake syrup, not even real juice... After an awful one, opted for a beer, but they didn't even serve up a local brew... Just Bud or Bud Lite. Ew. How about some wine?... From a giant plastic bottle. Coffee? Bleh. Sat on the heat too long and tasted burnt. My kids wouldn't touch the"fruit punch". Food was bland and generally overcooked. The dancers and musicians were phenomenal- but the hotel is just out to take your $$$.

We visited Kona over Christmas and went to the Island Breeze Luau at the King Kamehameha Hotel. It was a great meal followed by a great show. The buffet had food for everyone including my 8 year old. He loved the show as well. This is a great outing for the whole family.

Went on a rainy day. Unfortunately, our luau was brought indoors. But, the employees were extremely welcoming and hospitable. Food was just ok.

There are a few Luau's to choose from on the Big Island, and I believe this one is rated the best. For what it is, I would say the did a great job getting people excited, teaching you some of the cultural aspects of Hawai'i, and having a good meal. The day we went there were threats of storms so everything had to be moved inside. This took away from the ambiance and we had to wait for 45 minutes, but nothing could be done about it. If you have never gone to a Luau, then I definitely recommend. I do not see the value in going more than once.

I've never been to a luau and never thought it was going to be educational; which it was. I thought it was all drinks and food which it was but again, very educational. I loved it. The family loved it. I won't be surprise when we return, the family wants to return for another show. Mahalo

The best luau in the islands. Food and entertainment remains top-notched. They did run out of some of the food early but we ate till we slept. can't wait til 2020.

Really enjoyed the show. The girls didn't wear these skimpy outfits, which makes it nice for families. The music was good and the fire show was awesome! The food was really good. I thought the desserts could have been better. The alcohol was ok...pretty watery but fruit. That was okay too, because you can go back as many times as you want. If there were more alcohol in it, we would have been pretty buzzed. They did well. They had different events going too while waiting to be fed. Music and educational background of islands, tattoos they were doing for anyone who wanted them. Hula classes, and making a fish out of a banana tree. Very nice! I had a flower put on my arm. My sister had a dolphin. No worries, they wash off with soap and water really easily. I would recommend this Luau to anyone and everyone. Every nice experience!

This isn't a restaraunt but rather an event -- a luau. The entertainment portion (hula dancers, fire show etc...) is well done and professional. It is somewhat interactive (the audience is often included in some form). The food is buffet style and representative of native hawaii food (Kalua pork, poke, poi etc..). For buffet, it's decent... But don't expect it to compare to a $15+ meal from a local restaurant. Go for the show... Not the food.
