Iron Bridge Wine Company - Columbia Ratings and Reviews
Went here for a night away from the kiddos with my two girlfriends. The food was amazing. The service was incredible. And I really appreciated that we never felt rushed to leave. Great experience and can’t wait to go back.
If they are serving sweet potato chowder, do yourself a favor and order a bowl. Holy amazing.
Have been here a few times but this time was
just so-so. The server was a bit cocky. I arrived first and was seated but then stood up to use the restroom. I asked him what the steak specials were as I was standing up and he told me to go to the ladies room first and then he would go over the specials when the other guest arrived. Seriously?! The wine portion was skimpy for $16/glass. 3-4oz a pour! I know the difference! The ribeye was tasty but most of mine was fat as my guests was a nicer cut. I was still hungry when I got home. Having said this, the last time I was there everything was great. Also, the guy helping the server and filling our water glasses was wonderful! Don’t think I’ll be back for awhile. Oh and the couple sitting next to us had their iPad and cell phones turned up and were very distracting especially since seating is tight.
We were hoping for a reasonably quiet place for a special event, but the noise level was so bad we could hardly have a conversation. The food was excellent. We had brussel sprouts and calimari to start and both were very good. The scallops and Delmonico steak were very tasty and well prepared.
Easily the most customer friendly restaurant we know of. They treat customers like they are part of the family. They go out of their way to accommodate special requests. To top it off the food is great and you literally have hundreds of wines to select from lining their walls.
It was a cold & rainy night when we went to Iron Bridge. It added to the special atmosphere. IB is like an old roadhouse on a country road. We came in to the most cozy warm place with a roaring fireplace soft light and wine bottles stacked around the restaurant. Add to this wonderful service, great food, and a delicious inexpensive wine suggested by our waiter. If you go on Tuesday they have creme broulet night. Which again, is delicious in its own right but if you get the one that’s missing the chocolate ganache you get a great prize.
The food, the signature cocktails, the wine selection, the service, and the ambiance all were wonderful and an uplifting break from the dreary, cold Maryland autumn rain. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. I had the pumpkin/ginger/orange soup as a starter. The spicing and the consistency were perfect, not too thick and not overly spiced. The bistro steak entree, which was accompanied by fresh unadulterated arugula and roasted root vegetables, was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. The seared sea scallops, which were served with forbidden rice and kale in a rich tarragon cream sauce, were delectable. The creme brûlée on chocolate ganache was a sinful conclusion. The only negative was the coffee, which needs attention. I would highly recommend this wonderful, casual suburban bistro.
Always love a trip to Iron Bridge! The crispy brussel sprouts are my favorite and what I get everytime I go as an appetizer. Wine is also wonderful. Pretty expensive but worth it. But if you want to a buy a bottle, but elsewhere unless it's something hard to find.
The food and service were very good. They have a good variety of wines and we discovered a couple of gems thanks to the wine flights. They did a great job of pairing wines to your food selections. This is as one of the few places we’ve been to in the area that fulfill the label of being a wine bar. Overall it was great dining experience.
Celebrated my husband's birthday here and it was wonderful! Food, excellent! Service, excellent! Atmosphere, simply wonderful! We had an amazing meal and could hear each other talk!
Matt was THE BEST! He gave the most mouth watering descriptions of the food - and the food tasted even better!
The best part was the personalized birthday card they gave my husband! Special touch that really meant they took the time to pay attention! We will be back alone and with friends! Thank you so much!
Went to celebrate a birthday. Made reservation in advance, and a birthday card from the restaurant was on the table awaiting our arrival. There were also cards at nearby tables for anniversaries. A thoughtful gesture. The food was delicious and service was great. Plus, there was a small birthday dessert at the end. This was our first, but certainly not last, visit. Can't wait to return. THANKS!
Just excellent all around! The service was exceptional, from the hostess who seated us to Matt, our server and the expediters who brought us our food. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were having a great dining experience. The food was excellent as well -- my wife's scallops were perfectly done and my steak was one of the better steaks I've ever had. Five stars and two thumbs up from us!
Excellent service from start to finish. The portions are not too big which was fine. I wish they had served bread to soak up the remaining delicious sauce on my plate. The sides that come with the meal could be a bit bigger on their portions. Excellent food and I appreciated the flights of Wine they offered. Wait staff was top notch.
As always, The Iron Bridge was outstanding. My wife and I were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary, and we both really enjoyed the meal and the wine. They always have new things on the menu for appetizers, entrees, and deserts, and Jesse our server gave us an excellent wine recommendation when she discovered they were sold out of the wine we originally had selected for our meal.
I would like to say that I really enjoyed the atmosphere and that my waiter was an impeccable gentlemen and provided me with first rate service. My appetizer was delicious. Unfortunately, all that aside, my main course ruined the evening for me. I ordered the steak fries. The presentation sad beautiful so I was excited to dig in. The flavor was there, but u fortunately the steak was very tough. Really hard to chew. So much so that I had to resort to spitting most of it back out. I'm confident if I had ordered a different thing, it would have been fantastic like my appetizer was, but sadly I did not. I would give the place a second chance, and I urge others to do the same.
Normally we love Iron Bridge but the steak special on Thursday was not great - we ordered the steak special - a NY strip steak, but unfortunately it was extremely tough and had significant amounts of gristle - and priced at $38 no less - I could barely cut it and what little of it I ate, sat uncomfortably on my stomach the rest of the night. Very disappointed as we had raved about the food to our guests, and one of them also had the steak. The rest of the food seemed ok though.
Very disappointing experience. I ordered a simple hamburger medium well to well. Came out medium rare. Manager apologized and replaced my meal. Second burger brought out... medium rare to medium. More apologies, and meal was taken off my bill, although I ate almost none of it. Won't be going back.
I have eaten at the Iron Bridge many times over the years. The quality of the food and service remains high. Food is well prepared and presented. I especially enjoy the selection of starters. There is something for everyone. And, It is always fun to choose a wine or two directly from the shelves to share with a loved one and friends.
