Went here with high expectations for our first wedding anniversary dinner but unfortunately the service was not fine dining. The music was on a loop and thumping the entire night. Our server was rolling his eyes at our selections and seemed annoyed with accommodating my wife’s food allergy (which is pretty serious) throughout the entire service, very short and gruff demeanor overall and not the type of feeling you want for an upscale dining spot in Austin. For the prices, you expect the level service and food to be proportionate but it was a miss this time. The kitchen and chef Hai however did seem to take the allergy serious enough, and the sommelier gave excellent recommendations, but our night didn’t really get any better until we spoke to a young staff member named Eddie who had enough emotional awareness to reassure our table that our special night was important to the restaurant and ensured we were taken care of. Also we apparently were not told by our server about the specials because they were sold out, but it would have been nice to know they even offered tomahawk steaks in case we wanted to come at another time with more guests. It looks like this place has both some conceptual and staffing adjustments to make in order for their food to really shine.

Food was actually really good, service was average to bad. We ordered very specific martini's an they made ours without any regard to how we ordered (asked them to remake). Our server was not great, they pulled our plates half way through our meal without asking each person. The place was completely dead at 8:45, they were in closing mode and felt like we were being pushed out. It was pretty expensive but the food was high quality so dont mind that. Place was pretty dead after 8PM in general.

Rocky experience this last go around. I’ve been multiple times now and tonight the service and food were just “off” from their normal levels. I plan to return because I adore the place usually. Last night was just miss after miss. Pushy and rushed bar service. Constant interruption while trying to have conversation with my guest. Food was also just off. Ordered one of the specials. Came out just sort of chewy and with a giant plate of mashed potatoes like it was Outback Steakhouse. The staff knew it was a rough night and did everything to cover. I’ll certainly return. I am hoping it just was a one night blip.

Great concept - food was fantastic. We had the Aris Cigar, short rib, and rib eye and all were cooked to perfection. Not cheap, but worth it for an occasion. I will definitely be back.
