Our goal at Insalata's has always been to bring luscious Mediterranean food, gracious service and a warm atmosphere to our diners. For over 20 years we have shared this experience of intimate dining and joyful celebrations in a variety of ways. First and foremost as a fine dining restaurant with our beautiful private Siena room in which to sit and relax and enjoy a meal. We also offer take out dining for those days when time is of the essence, or catered affairs where we bring great food and staff into your home or venue. Our guests have become family and we have grown together in the community in which we all live and work. Everyone at Insalata's is extremely proud to be a part of this extended "village" family.

Insalada’s is all around amazing. The staff is wonderful, the food is perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant!
My favorite restaurant in Marin. The food is creative and consistently delicious. Great staff who are professional and friendly.
Excellent service and quality food
Food was delicious as always. The service , however, was amazingly off. The waiter was reasonably attentive, but was oddly tossing menus, flatware and the final bill to us. Cant say I have had any waiter at any restaurant toss things to me at a table, so it was very odd at such a lovely restaurant as Insalatas. I would still go back, I love the food there, but the previous waiters must have moved on during the pandemic. The new ones need some training!
Wonderful to be back to indoor dining at Insalata.
The food we had was excellent.
Unfortunately, though, 2 out of the 3 of us ordered and then were told that the food they ordered was sold out. It was only 7 PM! They got other good dishes, but not their first choices.
Absolutely delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Perfect for a special occasion dinner.
Excellent California Mediterranean cuisine. Wonderful mezzes, super tasty appetizers. Wonderful corn soup. Highly recommend kompachi crudo and the “cigars”.
The lamb skewers were outrageously good tasty and tender. Vegetarian middle eastern platter fantastic.
The wine list is interesting but not outrageously expensive. Our server friendly, helpful, but not pushy. Overall, an excellent experience.
My waffles were overcooked, hard. Others at my table for a Mother's Day brunch enjoyed their meals. Great waiter, great service.
Always a treat. Yummy, service was great. felt very special for Mother's day
Awful service. Food took 45 minutes to arrive. They didn't have enough umbrellas, so we had to sit in the blazing sun with three kids. Food quality average at best. Will not return.
They serve a very special Mother’s Day brunch so I would highly recommend this restaurant for that occasion.
We celebrated three birthdays all at once. Everything was wonderful from the food to the service and the weather was warm as we sat out on the side patio!
Insalata’s is our favorite restaurant in Marin! We were there this time for my wife’s birthday. We had our favorite dish - the yogurt marinated grilled chicken. We also enjoyed a new appetizer - crispy artichoke hearts - delicious!
Food is delicious and they have a good wine selection. They have also created a great outdoor seating area.
Lovely ambiance and wonderful food. Pasta is homemade which really makes a difference. The "cigars" were super appetizer
6 entres were really great but what have you done to the vegetarian dish. It was a sloppy mess with a yellow blob of something on top with no distinguishing taste .
I’ve ordered vegetarian there for years & never been served that sloppy mess.
Service was spotty & we waited 35 minutes before we were served , plates were cleared before 1 guest was still eating. Sorry , I love Insalatas but not so much tonight on my husbands birthday.
Very nice Spring dinner outside. The table wasn’t great with the sun setting and in our eyes. We moved around the 4 seats 3 times to get out of it.
Poor service. Took two hours to get to desert, which never arrived, despite the waiter constantly saying “it’s on it’s way”. He then blamed the kitchen, even though he delivered poor service all evening. It was our 35th anniversary and we were pretty much ignored by the waiter. Food was great, though. Unfortunately, the service was so poor it kind of ruined the mea/experience.
I had enjoyed Insalata's for many years and was so pleased to be able to go back again for a fabulous lunch!! The ambiance, the food selections, and the wait staff were incredible.
Service sat night was poor- waitress rarely checked on us and it took 15 min for her to get glass of wine. Maybe understaffed because of covid? Sorta annoying they levy $2.50 pp covid cleaning fee
This was the best food we’ve had in a long time. This was our first time here. We will certainly be coming back many times.
The two main dishes we had were the chicken and the salmon, my wife who is a great cook and a foodie proclaimed it fantastic the best she has ever had. The salmon was my dish, also so many subtle flavors wrapped into this dish. Wonderful.
Insalata's continues to be one of my favorites. Although a little pricey, it is worth it. The food and service are of consistent high quality. They provided a really lovely outdoor dining setting for our current situation. Good job!
Beautiful space and food
I highly recommend
Food was absolutely delicious. The service was mediocre at best. Kind of surprising because usually the service is good.
Our waiter just abandoned us. My martini glass went unfilled the entire dinner; I was never offered another one. The water was never refilled until we had to ask for it (had to flag someone down); no one checked in during main course to see how things were going; and the waiter couldn't quite describe the desert when I asked him a question about it.
But we still had a great time because the food made up for it. It was delicious and portions were generous.
The food as always is beyond reproach, however the service has gone to hell. And on top of this they charge a special tax per person so they can disinfect your booth. I was literally in shock at the abominable service.
the food was delicious and service was excellent.
First restaurant experience since the beginning of the pandemic!
Everything about it was wonderful! - food, service and ambiance was the best!!
We sat outside and it was lovely in their small garden area. My husband started wirh the red pepper soup, flavorful and delicious. He ordered the pappardelle which was freshly made in a pureed green pea, mushroom and asparagus broth. This entree was absolutely phenomenal, one we will remember and hope to have again. Light and delicate, rich in flavor, a 5 star dish! And a delightful little market with food and delicacies to go.
We've been a few times in the past and the food simply didn't live up to our expectations.
We have dined at Insalata’s for the past 13 years and it has always been something we can count on. We also often have done take out from their preparations during the week.We came many times before with our small dog but were told this time that they only allow service dogs at the restaurant- even outside. The steak was not edible. It was tough, dry and way over done and the lamb burger was way overdone and very dry.
We didn’t fell welcomed this time nor the last time we ate there.
Has not missed a beat since the Pandemicmic started.
The food is always outstanding--the best in Marin.
The outside area is very nice
Love the food every visit!
Food was delicious. Outdoor seating area was great with tables very spread out.
I love Insalata's and have been going for years. It's consistently delicious and a wonderful experience. I was a bit disappointed to see that they are requiring a credit card to make a reservation. And that you are charged $50 if you cancel. It's unfortunate that a local restaurant in our community feels the need to do this. Other than this, the experience was superb. Great service by the way.
Enselatas has always been a wonderful place to dine. It is especially when you are celebrating a special occasion they go the extra mile.
A fabulous dinner. Each entree was delicious. The service was excellent.
