Top Notch! Taughannock Inn is the best restaurant in the area. The view is outstanding, the service is excellent and the food is fresh and delish and plated beautifully.

I know we’re supposed to default to offering up 5 stars across the board. But there was such a distinct line between the service (5star+) and the food (3stars at best). Maryann(e) was a freaking rock star! Service was world class. The hostess, the assistants to Maryann(e) and the star herself…can’t overhype how professional and fantastic they all were! The food (mains) just lacked. Seemingly alergic to seasoning, we had the scallops and the sea bass - they were forgettable. Scallops should have a nice outer sear prepared at very high temps. These seemed to be made on a sauna bench. What was underneath the scallops was in no way complicating. Chewy and flavorless is no way to go thru life. Not at this wonderful place. The 2019 Stag’s Leap featured on the menu turned out to be a 2020. I’d like to see the attention to detail turned up a bit.

High quality food and great service. The views of Lake Cayuga were stunning, and the ability to site outside (particularly during the evening hours) around the fireplaces after dinner made the visit extra special.

Beautiful experience on the shore of Cayuga lake. Gorgeous Al fresco setting with friendly professional service. Food was beautifully presented, fresh and flavorful. Select local and international wines available for reasonable price.

I hadn't been to the Inn for dinner in several years, and I doubt I'll return. Before dinner, we went to the bar for a drink. It's a neat, cozy bar. We ordered a martini. The amount the bartender made didn't even fill our glasses. Dinner was even more disappointing. The person who sat us said to ask about the specials. The waitress didn't volunteer the information, so we inquired about the specials. There were no dinner specials. Only a salad special. Really? My wife ordered the halibut. It was overcooked and dry. It cost $48.00. I had the scallops. It was bland. It cost $48.00. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert because it was described as light and airy. That's not true. It tasted like it was store bought. We didn't even finish it. The atmosphere was nice except for the flies we had to kill during our meal. The Inn used to have a decent clientele who dressed properly for such an elegant establishment. Not anymore. People arrived wearing T-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps. Our total bill was over $220.00. It definitely wasn't worth it. As I stated, I doubt I will return.
