Went with friends to celebrate Barks for Beers! Was awesome to see many folks enjoying themselves! Use to frequent Independence before Covid, was glad to come back!

I went specifically to taste the Potato Chip Beer and was not disappointed at all. I just was thinking that the chips that come with beer purchase should/could have been the same brand that the beer was made from: Krakatoa

When you go after 3:30pm, the patio is full shade, which was nice! We appreciated the spaced out tables and they’ve really updated their patio nicely! The beers were great as always, and they’re offering some great local snacks!

Their website hours were wrong. It showed they were open from 7pm to 12am. I made the reservation for 7pm and when we arrived, after a 1 1/2 hour drive, we were told they are closing at 8pm. We were told their hours were 4pm to 8pm. The waitress then told us to scan the QR code on the table for the menu and left. We could not get the code to work on any of our phones. The waitress never returned so after waiting 15 minutes we left.

This was my first outing since Covid started taking over our "normal" way of living back in March. Independence Brewing went to the extreme to make sure it was a safe environment. Tables were set up outside only and spread apart at least six feet. Server was wearing a mask and gloves, and customers are required to wear one too until drinks/food are served. They did a great job cleaning and provided social distancing when standing in line for the restroom. It was not crowded at all so we felt very comfortable. Our server was very friendly and gave us great service. We had a great experience, rain and all...
