Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy.

My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 9 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and traditional local Tuscan food.

Our mission is to bring people together for an amazing Italian experience with good food, wine and good times and share with you my strong passion and our local traditional cuisine as if you were in Tuscany.

Italian the way Italians would eat!! Our pasta was deliciously fresh, starchy and sticky the way it should be! Bursting with the simplest flavors that make a big impact. Will be back for a pasta fix again. Entree: We had the Burrata and the Bruschetta. The Burrata was creamy and delicious and the bruschetta was dripping with flavour. Mains: We had the Spaghetti di Mezzanotte - which was only mildly spiced and absolutely delicious and the Fusilli Combo which I didn’t try but my dinner date polished off the bowl and said it was devine. Would recommend a visit if you like authentic Italian pasta.

I attended for a work lunch and i have to say the atmosphere was great, from the photos on the walls, to the service, to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Apart from the atmosphere - the food tasted amazing, and was an excellent portion size. I will absolutely be going back and have recommended the restaurant to multiple friends.

I had the most incredible dining experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was perfectly prepared. Very friendly service and nice staff. I will definitely come back.

The food was amazing! You can feel fresh homemade pasta and delicious Antipasti. The service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I don’t think you can go wrong with this place, beautiful yet quant location, interior design looks very traditional and lives up to the vibe of Italian dining. Service is amazing, I’ve been twice now and both times lived up to the same high expectations. Definetely stop by and see these legends!

First time at Il Toscano and it was amazing. Very nice atmosphere, customer service superb from the start to the end. The food is incredible. Nice and fresh. Absolutely a hidden gem in Gosford.

I have been here Previously for dinner. But today I went for lunch. It was beautiful. Service is fantastic and my friend who Is celiac can’t have gluten. They do the best gluten free pasta. 🍝 Mateo the head Matre de is funny and has great jokes too. 5 stars
