   Food and service was terrific although they were out of a few things and they do not serve hard liquor. Taylor our server was both helpful and adorable. Amongst the four of us we had veal Marcella, chicken, Marcella, lasagna, and chicken Parmesan. We all enjoyed our meal thoroughly. We will be back !!!

    We had reservations. We waited at the front desk to be seated. No one was there. We waited 15 minutes before someone even came up to us then we were seated. We sat down. The woman told us to having a big party there and the kitchen was backed up and we may have to wait a while for food. We left!

    Denise was wonderful, helping with the order and follow-up...very personable. The PEI Mussels Giuseppe are outstanding. This is one of favorite restaurants in Fort Myers.

    The people were very attentive. I order vegetable with linguine in olive oil and garlic. The vegetables were not drained before placing bowl so there was an inch of liquid in the bottom of the bowl. This left the dish like a soupy, flavorless meal.

    We were so happy to go back inside the restaurant after doing takeout the past 2 years. Our server Evan did a fantastic job making the meal special. He was on point with everything. The food was delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant.

    My wife and I wanted a new Italian place for dinner, and il Pomodoro was the best choice we could have made! The restaurant was charming and authentic. Our server, Olivia, was excellent in her job, but also so personable she enhanced our experience. The large and varied made the decisions of starter and entree difficult. My wife’s Caesar salad was perfect. My pasta fagioli was the best I’ve ever had!! My wife’s main course was pasta Mario, with shrimp and chicken: amazing and too much to finish! I had huge stuffed shells, which I haven’t had in decades! The cheeses were amazing and the sauce wonderful. We had a nice Sangiovese in a straw encased bottle! Old school! And to make the evening even better, the prices were a huge value! Everything just came together to perfection and I can’t wait to go back.

    Our server was friendly and efficient. The food came out perfectly without having too much on the table at once. The beef ravioli was delicious. Our guest really liked the vegetable linguine. My spaghetti caprese was also delicious. Enjoyed our meal and our evening. Definitely a place to go back.

    Back to IL Pomodoro tonight. It has been very busy here on the weekends and we were late getting reservations. Not tonight. We booked in advance on Open Table. Denise, the boss, greeted us and found a nice table by the window. First up April and I had the Margarett Cabernet from California. Very tasty wine for the price. We also ordered meatballs for an appetizer. Two large ones came with ricotta cheese and roasted peppers. Yum. For our dinners, I had Salmon Gustoso which was served with cannellini beans over spinach with pancetta and sun dried tomatoes. Loved it! April’s meal was penne a la vodka with sliced sausage. She could not finish the large portion. Jessica was our attentive server. Looking forward to our next visit.

    Il Pomodoro was a surprisingly pleasant dining experience. Had never dined there before, but had a great meal overall! One surprise was that entrees came from the kitchen with extra cheese already applied, this was not known to us having never dined there before! Had to send back one dinner entree for a new one without the extra cheese applied. That was done as quickly as they could, but it left 3 people with their dinners and 1 forced to wait until the replacement dinner was delivered… This wouldn’t have happened if the information was stated up front before any orders were taken! A note on the menus as to the practice of the kitchen regarding extra cheese being applied before delivering the entrees to the table would have avoided this problem. At virtually every other restaurant we have dined at previously, the wait person comes to the table to offer to apply extra cheese if desired! It was a total surprise to all of us that extra cheese had already been applied. Didn’t totally ruin our dining experience, but it was a major disappointment! Would have made our dining experience outstanding as opposed to very good!!

    This was our first sub-par experience at Il Pomodoro. Granted it was a reservation at 6:00pm on Valentines Day, so I understand the environment that the staff was working with. I’m disabled and one of the primary reasons I use OpenTable is because I can make a reservation at a specific time and also so I can tell them about the special requirements that I will need to dine at their establishment. I can’t stand and wait for a table, so a reservation solves that problem. Because I use a cane to walk and have mobility and balance problems, I ask for extra space around our table. I understand that they’re not always able to provide extra space every time, especially on a very busy evening. However, given that I provided this request, I was extremely disappointed that our table was in the far reaches of the restaurant and I had to navigate between tightly spaced tables just to get to our tiny two topper. It was so hard to get our table, even for someone able bodied, that my entree was toppled over as the server tried to get to our table. She was mortified and wore much of my dish as she retreated to the kitchen to put everything back in its place. She was fabulous not responsible for this fiasco. My wife’s grouper special was fantastic and my pork was pretty tasty despite the plating mishap. When we got the bill, they charged us for both entrees, which was a little surprising.

    We had a really nice dinner here to celebrate a milestone birthday! Great food and friendly, attentive wait staff. The owner even came out to greet us. Will return when we are back in Ft. MYERS.
