Welcome to Il Gusto Restaurant and Wine Bar, Cheshire's newest Italian dining experience, brought to you by restaurateur Gina Baca and Frederico Agraja, the chef and owner of the acclaimed Adriana's Restaurant and Wine Bar in New Haven. Situated at the historic location of the former Waverly Inn at 286 Maple Ave., Il Gusto revives a cherished local landmark, combining the rich heritage of its predecessor with the vibrant flavors of modern Italian cuisine. Il Gusto will feature a menu reminiscent of Adriana's, offering a delectable selection of traditional and contemporary Italian dishes. With seating for over 220 guests and a spacious banquet room, we are the perfect venue for dining, parties, meetings, and special events. Our goal is to preserve the history of the Waverly Inn by showcasing framed photographs of the original establishment, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere for our guests.

The food here is absolutely delicious. The location and ambiance are perfect. Service is great. It was a little noisy due to infants and children present during the weekend and supper busiest time.

It was our first time at this restaurant, and unfortunately the last. The ambience is simple but clean. The food needs improvement. I ordered a Gnocchi that was not good at all, it was hard (pasta should be al dente but never gnocchi which must be soft) maybe lack of knowledge of Italian cuisine. The sauce was not good at all, and the parmesan cheese was not a good quality cheese and had a bad taste. My husband ordered a veal Milanese that was ok. The waitress was very nice but the guy who came with water needs training. In summary, the restaurant could improve.

First time going and definitely will be back. The food was absolutely great. Went with 5 other people and everyone enjoyed their meal. Waitress was fantastic and attentive. Definitely the best restaurant in Cheshire!!!

The food is always excellent. We sat at the bar, and the poor bartender seemed to be the only one serving the whole restaurant, which was jam packed. He was attentive as he could be given the circumstances.

Excellent food, excellent and attentive service by eait staff. It is located in close proximity to our home, ample parking, and ambiance was perfect. Noise level was low. Perfecto!!

We brought our friends who had never been here before. They loved the food and atmosphere, however, it was so noisy we couldn’t carry on a conversation very well. Would be nice if they can find another spot to accommodate large gatherings so the people in the dining room can carry on a conversation.

So damn good. On top of the fact that Nora now works there. The food was spot on. You're going home with leftovers for the next day for sure!

The meal and the service were great, drinks were delicious as well. Anastasia was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. Overall highly recommend, however, the restaurant is extremely noisy, we had a difficult time carrying on a conversation because of acoustics once it became busier.
