   In general, it is a genuinely nice restaurant with tasty food. I do not like restaurants that add special fees when rendering the bill e.g. benefits charge.

   Regular menu, chef’s recommendation menu and regional menu (Tuscany). All outstanding. From the chef’s recommendation menu, sliced sautéed duck breast was excellent.

   Our waiter was most understanding that my 98 year-old father had limited ability to sit in a restaurant. He rushed our order, brought it promptly and got us the bill so we could be on our way. I didn't catch his name, but he had a ponytail and told me he understood my situation because he had once worked in an assisted living community. He is a credit to your organization.

   We were greeted by the host and were able to get our table right away . Our server Sophia is great as well she informed us about the menu and she gave us hood options as far as what to order She was pleasant and attentive to our needs . Overall we were satisfied with the food and dessert.Thanks for the awesome staff. We will try to get here again for special occasions.

   I chose Il Fornaio for for lunch that required a sensitive conversation because it tends to be quiet during the week. It also happens to be a beautiful restaurant that serves great food. It was perfect!

    Food major disappointment. Overcooked fish. Undercooked calamari. Sautéed spinach tasteless glob. And to switch mashed potatoes to pasta meant $7 over charge. And prices were definitely not reasonable for the product. Have been coming here for years and this was most disappointing visit ever. Perhaps this was the Mother’s Day rush. People were great and we love the ambiance. But that was only saving grace this time.

    Had a wonderful time and meal the day before Mother's Day. Jay did a fantastic job taking care of us. The chef did a great job with my mixed seafood grill - it's so easy to overcook seafood.

    The new menu was not great. Lots of potato and spinach for most of the entrees. Stopped making some of the better menu items like Cioppino. I didn’t see veal scallopini or standard Italian favorites.

    Nice ambiance. Staff was friendly but we had two different waiters which was a little confusing. We had duck with rissoto (ok but not great; rissoto was rather bland). Tirramasu for dessert was good.

    This restaurant has declined. The food is over-sauced. Hard to enjoy the pasta with so much sauce which overpowers all other flavors. It looks more and more run down. Aging carpet, outside wicker chairs are used for the "window" seats inside. For a $250 bill for 4 (1 appetizer, 4 entrees, 2 drinks - hardly no alcohol in a $14 drink). Have to pay for bread separately now-- really? In an Italian restaurant? They tack on an "employee benefits" 3% up charge. Really classless in a supposed upscale restaurant. Really disappointed.

    Dined there Sat. 5/1. The service staff are very nice, attentive without being overwhelming. BUT. The food was mediocre at best. Had the beet salad (me & wife). Greens were not fresh, dressing bitter, beets tasteless. Next up was the Cristina pizza (fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, shaved grana padano, arugula, etc.). The topping ingredients were actually pretty good. HOWEVER. The pizza dough itself was tasteless, under cooked (no leoparding on the cornice or underneath). It resembled a soft tortilla more than a pizza. Maybe it was a bad night. Hard pressed to try it again. NOTE: Was at the Santa Clara location in 2019. Was very good. That was what gave us hope this restaurant would be OK as well.

    I ordered the breast chicken/funghi. Chicken was overcooked and dry. The waiter was not very nice and ignored us throughout. He paid attention to the rest of his customers. This was the worst meal I’ve had there. I was tempted to send my food back but I decided not to. I had about three bites and left the rest. Very bad experience

    Mixed grill had no flavor whatsoever. When we moved here from San Francisco in 2006 the food was excellent, and tasted Italian. There have been some excellent Roseville Il Fornaio kitchens since but this one is not one of them.

    I had lunch with a couple of friends at Il Fornaio recently. We were disappointed that they no longer offer a lunch menu, which used to consist of a special salad and sandwich, among other things. But we all found something on the menu we all enjoyed: the Tartara di Tonno. It was just the right portion size, and it was absolutely delicious. I will gladly visit for lunch again just to have that appetizer.

    We waited for a long time to get our app and bread and there really just was a lack of effort from our server. This definitely didn’t feel like fine dining which was a disappointment as it was the first time I had been there and will likely be my last.

    We were seated promptly at our reserved time. We asked for a table near window and we were accommodated. Our waiter was spectacular. Drinks food and water all arrived in a timely and organized fashion. Waiter checked back frequently to assure all ok.

    Not great service . Server seemed very busy .. nice but forgot things . I think they were short handed . The food was ok . Caesar salad was dry. My friends seafood platter was cold . I had halibut it was tough. My husbands chicken was dry . Calamari was good . The drinks were the best thing . I had a malino mule . Overall for the money not a great experience.     Our server was very good. From beginning to end, we appreciated her attentiveness and responsiveness to a special request. This was a special occasion and the food we both ordered was the Osso Buco, which is, if not the most expensive item on the menu, the next to most expensive item. From the first taste, it was over salted. Afterwards my companion described his was dried out, not at all the tender mouthwatering Osso Buco we have had in the past here and elsewhere which we anticipated, The wine list is fine and the food selection is generally quite good. They have gotten away with any salad other than the Romain only Cesar usually good but all the rest are arugula, which is fine if you like arugula, but not so much if you don’t. I would recommend ordering off the specials menu as we have had many fine meals from it.

    Extremely disappointed; based on this dining experience, both food and service was deplorable. Four diners, over $300.00 and will never return. Steak with mashed potatoes had absolutely no flavor. My grandson’s pizza was okay, my daughter’s pasta dish was mushy. I asked our waitress if the restaurant had an aoli sauce for the asparagus. Her response was “no” with no attempt to satisfy my as a customer.

    I highly recommend getting the Ossobuco (braised pork shank) because it was very flavorful, tender and falling off the bone. The mixed grilled seafood dish was also very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

    Martinis and salads were well done. Service was very good. Entrees were disappointing.....my wife and I both had chicken and it was overcooked and dry. The sauce was tasteless as well. We hadn't been to this restaurant in a long tme as the quality was not there. We were told improvements had been made and it was worth a try. We were not pleased and will likely not return any time soon.
