Excellent food and service. The sommelier is fantastic and always has a great recommendation for us.
Outstanding in every way. Calamari appetizer was over the moon.
Fantastic meal - everything was outstanding and the service was excellent.
Delicious food, exceptionally pleasant service. Portions not huge, but appropriate. No one wore masks (with current removal of restrictions) - boisterous conversations of everyone enjoying themselves. I rely on their comment on their website that their air purifying system creates atmosphere just one level shy of operating room purity. Going back, assuming all remains on upswing with pandemic. (I am fully vaccinated).
Loved the old location. This new venue is better than ever!
For those worried about the new ownership and new location, have no fear! My favorite dishes were exactly as before - delicious. I was concerned about the Souffle de Porcini not measuring up, because it is such a unique dish, but it was scrumptious. I was able to ask for a substitution in one of the pasta dishes, and it was no problem. Greatly improved from the previous location is the size of the table-for-two and the spacing of the tables. Not only that, but the waitstaff were very attentive, and there were enough of them to cover easily the very full restaurant.
Excellent re-opening of this Waltham standby. Many familiar menu items from old location, friendly staff and nice new space. Highly recommend.
Great food, wonderful ambiance, outstanding service and a perfect night from start to finish. First time in the new location and loved the new look of both the bar and multiple dining rooms. Much bigger and much more room at the bar and the individual tables. Top quality food with many new items on the menu. This is a “must visit “ for those looking for a special restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.
So happy you are open again! New location is too big and noisy , decor …..but the food? DELICIOUS! Service? VERY GOOD!
A great comeback in an interesting new building. They are still working on sound barriers, and indeed they should.
Excellent meal and service here. One of the best desserts we've ever had, the Amaretti Semifreddo, Cherry Compote - Highly recommend
The food was delicious but the service needs work
Great restaurante with delicious food and drinks. Highly recommended for different occasions. The service was very professional and kind.
The new location is great with multiple rooms that try to recreate the feel and look of the old premises but with an up-dated twist of a modern space. We were a party of six and had our own room which was great, as we were catching up.
Loved everything!!! Only haven’t been there since Covid and the address changed so we could not find the restaurant and were late. When we called we were given the wrong address and the site is not updated. Please update!
So happy to see Il Capriccio open again. Food, service, and ambiance continue to be top-rate. We had grilled octopus as an appetizer, a small order of lobster risotto which we shared, soft shell crab, and eggplant Vitoria. I’d be thrilled to have any one of these dishes again
Really glad this place reopened. Loved seeing the familiar faces again. Will be back again.
Fabulous. Food and service are amazing!
Great service, delicious food. Highly recommend the porcini soufflé, tuna tartare, duck, veal.
The food and service were both wonderful. At the time we ate it wasn't crowded, but given the fact that the room we were in had no soft surfaces (carpet, tablecloths, drapes), I imagine it could get noisy at times.
We had a wonderful evening and the food was GREAT!
Look forward to going back
So nice to have I’m Capriccio back again, we missed it! New space is so much larger and airier, very inviting. Tables are not on top of one another. Food was excellent— carbonara is always a standout, as was the mushroom- white bean soup. Cherry dessert with amaretto crumbs worth the trip alone!
So happy to be back at Il Capriccio and really enjoyed the new home for the restaurant. Dinner was delicious and our server, Ann, was delightful. Will be back soon!
The food and service from our waiter was excellent. There was somewhat less attention from the auxiliary staff for keeping water glasses full, etc.
Foos was delicious but service was less than expected for a restaurant of this level. Server was slow and failed to checkin and refill beverages, ask about dessert and take order inspire of fact that restaurant was not that full.
Excellent food and service. The space is much louder than the old restaurant and when full it was less pleasant. I understand management is working to address this issue.
This restaurant has maintained a high standard of food and service. The new location has more light and the bar area was quiet. Delicious and excellent service by Mike at the bar et al.
Food and service were very good. The same chef from the previous owner is consistently great!
Reminiscent menu with many of our favorites...Foie Gras, gravlax and tuna tartare and special oysters were great. The scallops were perfectly cooked, mushroom risotto and gnocchi were great, and we enjoyed a very nice wine. Looking forward to returning to your patio soon.
The restaurant has not skipped a beat since moving to their new location. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed.
Good to be back and see some familiar faces! The porcini souffle was wonderful, as usual, and the risotto and duck breast were as good as remembered. The new room is too noisy, but I understand that they're working on that. Service was a bit slow, but I'm sure things are still shaking down. We'll be back soon!
We’re promptly seated by the maitre d. The waitress served us water and took our drink orders and gave us the daily specials. Our server, however, wouldn’t give us the time of day. We waited 20 minutes and have to tell him we’re ready to order. The food is excellent as usual. We had the tuna tartare starter, the chicken schnitzel main. Will come back. Hopefully will have more prompt service from our server next time.
Everything was exceptional. Especially the mushroom soufflé and the spaghetti cabanara.
The new restaurant is a nicer space than the previous one. The menu is the same as it was in the Richie Baron era, and the food is very good, just as it was before. The sommelier, although a bit hostile in the beginning, gave us a fabulous suggestion for a wine, and when we gave her a taste she warmed up. The service, however, was rocky. We sat for 15 minutes without a waitperson coming over to our table, and we had to call the maitre d' to finally get waited on. This needs to be improved!
There were three of us, and we all ordered different items on the menu. My daughter had the tuna tartare and the salmon. My husband had the mushroom/white bean soup and the lamb chops. I had the mushroom soufflé, which was possibly the best mushroom dish I have ever tasted. My main course was the duck: it was exquisite. Unfortunately, it was served well-done when I had requested medium rare, but they were very gracious about re-preparing it. We each thought our meal was outstanding. We shared the warm chocolate dessert - incredible! The waiter was professional and friendly, although the service was a little slow and the room was a little loud. I would recommend this restaurant as possibly the best one in the area.
Great to have the restaurant back in service. Better still, it's streamlined, updated , in keeping with the times.
It was nice to see all of our favorites on the menu in the new location, including the classic mushroom souffle! The food was excellent and the service was good, but uneven.
The main criticism is that the dining room needs warmth and ambiance. It's too stark and cold. We asked to be moved to the lounge which was has a warmer feel.
The food is outstanding. My porcini risotto about the best you can ask for: superb texture (al dente arborio, silky sauce) and the rich, earthy flavor throughout. I moved on to the Veal Tenderloin with a deep sear, dark sauce, and perfect accompaniments. The sauce matching so well with the white bean plating. Can’t wait to return
Great to have the carbonara and chicken schnitzel after well over 1 year...didn’t realize how much I missed it!!! Only negative is the pricing has jumped up.
Truly fantastic, just as good if not better than the old location. Under new ownership, this restaurant has continued to grow and flourish. OUTSTANDING service, and the food was out of this world. All of the staff were incredibly attentive and caring. Liz seated us right away and was very kind in showing us the layout of the new attention. Vinnie was our server for the night, and did an amazing job taking care of every request, and was incredibly helpful in making recommendations while considering both personal taste and budget. Jesse the bartender made the most fantastic drinks, the Pom was absolutely phenomenal and blew away my partner, who rarely drinks. Every server on staff stopped by our table to say hello. The food selection was incredible, appetizers were fantastic, but the star of the show was the linguine carbonara and mushroom risotto. Ordered a large expecting to take home leftovers, but not even one piece of pasta was left on the plate. The lemon mousse remains the best dessert on the menu. This visit was multiple celebrations at once, as covid delayed many celebrations, the kitchen decorated our dessert plate and included all of our celebrations and a candle! Definitely recommend this place for every occasion, will be returning time and time again.
