My husband Ron and I opened il Bistro Italiano in 1998 with the idea of bringing traditional food from my area of Italy to Grand Junction. I come from a small village in Northern Italy and what we serve at the Bistro reflects my heritage, but it is also the results of years of experimentation in using local ingredients in an "Italian" way. Part of our menu is deeply traditional and part is more "innovative Italian cuisine". This philosophy in food is also reflected in our focused wine list which features an extensive selection of Italian and Colorado wines only. Our full service bar also presents several Italian liquors including a variety of grappas. We offer different seating options: a main dining room which seats about 50 people, a smaller dining room that seats about 25 and that is available for private functions, a few tables in the front of the restaurant with a good view of our open kitchen, and a covered and heated patio available from March through November.

Awesome experience. Our server Fernando made our anniversary dinner special and topped it off with an amazing complementary Tiramisu. Prices were very reasonable and the small plates enabled us to have an appetizer and soup and dessert and be completely full! We will be back!

restaurant is modern and bright. waiter was very attentive but it did take a long time to receive our meal- luckily it was a business group and we were happy to talk with one another. everyone loved their meal but I felt the menu was too limited- no pasta and meat sauce and no pasta and seafood. could not substitute pasta for potatoes without paying extra.

Homemade pasta! What a treat to walk into Bistro Italiano and see their little homemade pasta nests and beautiful desserts. Sat outside on Saturday night...perfect weather and lovely service. Food was terrific. Daughter had the pasta pomodoro...not your mom's, but certainly mama's...delicious. I had the chicken piccata with mashed potatoes which was also yummy. The goat cheese patties for an appetizer are lovely and very hearty...with a green salad could almost be a main course. Chocolate cherry tart was super good as well. Can hardly wait to go back.
