    My wife and I love the people, food and place. Carmelo greets you with a smile and then Gregory takes over from there. It isn't cheap but nothing in life worthwhile is.

    Gregory was our waiter - he’s the best and has waited on us before. It was packed when we arrived for our 7 pm reservation. We waited in the bar which was also busy. Our food was delicious. All 6 of us enjoyed our meals. Keep it up!

    Carmello, Maria and Frank always create a welcoming atmosphere with excellent food and service. The Swordfish Involtini was phenomenal as was every other dish. We had wandered away from Il Bel Lago from our normal rotation but they are definitely back on! What we were missing!!!

    This was our first time at Il Bel Lago, however the couple we went with had been before and recommended it. We were certainly glad they did! The staff, service and food were excellent. Dishes that were ordered ranged from penne vegetale (vegetarian pasta) to calamaretti cape sante (sautéed bay scallops and mushrooms in sherry tomato cream sauce) to involtini de pollo bush (Chicken breast rolled with prosciutto, asiago cheese and spinach, dusted in bread crumbs, finished with shitaki, shallots and a white wine sauce) to finally the seafood special which was a rolled swordfish fillet stuffed with crab. Everyone was impressed with the respective dishes chosen. I should also mention that the wine list had a nice selection to choose from and all wines that we chose paired well with our meals. Lastly, Michael our waiter was very attentive and provided great insight into helping choose our dishes and wine choices. We will definitely be back!

    Great selection and service. It’s my favorite Italian restaurant in St. Louis. Veal tortellini is amazing, I’d “tell” you about other dishes but I can’t pass up this gem each time!! Cocktails are top notch.

    We’re from Iowa, visiting for a wedding, and decided to go out on our last night in Missouri. We chose Il Bel Lago from the great reviews and quick trip from our hotel. Ray served us and was an absolute delight. The food was incredible; flavorful, quick, and so original. I had the tiniest issue with my dish and Ray was on top of it! The kitchen got me a new dish I swear within minutes. If you go don’t forget to have some of the house made tiramisu - it’s to die for!

    Everything was exactly how it should have been. The young lady working the bar was pleasant and the drinks were perfect. Our waiter did an outstanding job listening to our questions and anticipating our needs. The food was some of the best I have had anywhere in St Louis. The price for a side Caesar salad was a bit high ($15), but the presentation and taste made it worth it. I will definitely be back.

    Great reservation! They had a booth for us for our anniversary dinner. The service was excellent as was the food. Sat in the bar earlier and the pours were terrific! We will be back!

    Very tasty lunch. We both had lasagna which was very good. We had tiramisu for dessert which was delicious! The bread was good too. Service by Kat was fast and friendly. We did not realize this is a Giovanni’s. Beautiful dining area.

    The Gabriele family treats and feeds you like family. Wait staff was exceptional. Food was all authentic and excellent. IL Bel Lago is a gem in Creve Coeur.
