Ikoyi is one of last year’s most critically acclaimed
openings. The ever-evolving menu uses West
African ingredients to create unique dishes. All are
carefully created by Head Chef and Co-founder
Jeremy Chan whose experience in the kitchens at
Noma, Hibiscus and Dinner shines through. Co-founder
Iré Hassan-Odukale’s memories of growing
up in Nigeria are the birthplace of Ikoyi, from which
Jeremy’s ideas explode out.
Jeremy has used his fascination with flavour
optimisation to create a truly exciting menu, where dishes
take on a strong visual identity through a focus on
the geometry, texture and colour of the ingredients
on the plate. The signature Buttermilk Plantain &
Smoked Scotch Bonnet, is one of Ikoyi’s best-sellers
and a true destination dish.

With promise of African influences, the menu unfortunately did not match. With the exception of scotch bonnet in every course except dessert, it could have been part of a menu from any part of the world. The spices sometimes did don’t work with the delicate salmon. My beef was over cooked through through a water bath and the fat left congealed on the side. My sweetbread too was over cooked and very stringy and chewy. London has many nice restaurants- go elsewhere. The wine list was the best thing about the experience, some lovely and unusual wines.

Only had options for the 7 or 9 course tasting menu (opted for the 9). The food was excellent, however it was pricey, which I expected and the food was filling. The staff were beyond helpful and amazing, we had to rush to the theatre and the staff and chefs made sure we didn't miss any course and rushed through our food (with our permission) without lowering the quality of food or service.

Absolutely loved it. Everytime I come there is something new to experience on the menu. The food is fantastic, service is stellar. We were seated on time and done with our meal in about an hour. Had the lunch time taster menu. Every course was a delight.

Absolutely great restaurant, the staff are amazing, the food is superb and best of all it is not in the slightest bit pretentious or intimidating. Fab experience!

The food is great. But the waiters don t know anything about the wines and don t even know the stock they have. Also we had to order twice as the first time it just did not go through. Food is very good and we will be back in a few months but the wine list and knowledge needs to improve

The ambience was excellent. From start to finish the service was exceptional and professional. I chose the surprise menu and was very pleased. A welcome departure from ho-hum eating. Somewhat spicy but not overwhelming. Worth the time and money.
