Made reservations. When arrived we were told that the restaurant was closed, and we had to look for a new place to eat.
Great location; quite decent food for something quick (I had a hamburger + chips). Not remarkable, though - and at London prices could aim higher when you pick your dinner spot.
A very ordinary burger with very small portions of sauces. Not sure we'll be back.
Booked a table, arrived and ordered drinks. They later told us that the kitchen was closed! We’d already opened a few bottles of wine which was incredibly inconvenient. The staff were not sympathetic and mostly stood in a group next to the bar chatting to each other. Really not good.
This is not really a restaurant. It is a bar, which sometime serves food. We booked through Open Table, but the 'restaurant' said they couldn't find the booking, had a very short menu, most of which was unavailable, and they were not really geared up for serving food - they were only interested in taking bookings for their NYE event in the bar. We were not made welcome, and we left without eating as it was absolutely not what we had hoped for, and was not really a restaurant at all, which neither their website nor Open Table made clear at all. Would not recommend.
Working close byso great alternative to the always packed pubs on strand..plus great for circa club after downstairs 👌🏼
Great spot. Lovely staff and ambiance. Would definitely go back and recommend!
I had booked for a group dinner but there aren’t many options there and also it’s too loud to hear each other. I personally liked the vibe but the group decided we should leave to go where there were more food options and also not too loud so we could talk
No. It was very noisy, we had to sit at high bar stool style chairs and two of the dishes we ordered came so late, we cancelled them as we were on the point of going. Really poor and no atmosphere or ambience at all.
Really pleasantly surprised that a place so central could be this chilled on a busy London Saturday morning. Service great and the breakfast on offer exceeded expectation - quantity and quality. All things considered a great experience and good value.
Food was really enjoyable. We had the vegan platter and chips. Well presented. Cocktails were well made. Best pornstar martini ever. Excellent service and very attentive waiting and bar staff.
Had to leave after 5minutes very disappointed with initial engagement, menus were dirty and told to sit anywhere I like-not at all reflective of the advertising boards outside the restaurant
Great time at Hungerford House Bar & Kitchen. Beautiful decor, perfectly located for pre-theatre drinks if heading to southbank and delicious food! Duck bon bon, haddock fishcakes and the avo plantain chips were fab! A new find within Charing Cross area for sure!
Went to Hungerford House at 5.30 on a Thursday as it's incredibly convenient to meet in (next to Embankment Tube) and a short walk to West End theatres etc. Some of the beers are pricey (nudging £7 per pint) but wine was reasonably priced and very pleasant. Food is pub fare - fish and chips, burgers - as well as some more adventurous dishes like the chinese style pork chop with bak choi. All the dishes were very reasonably priced and all three of us thought the food quality, flavour and portion size made them excellent value for money. The ambience is really nice and the interior is tastefully decorated. Would definitely recommend and will definitely come back - it's a perfect pre-theatre venue.
Team were lovely and very accommodating but service, especially drinks when we first arrived, was very slow. Still I would recommend, just not when you're in a hurry.
We arrived for brunch place was empty 11am reserved thru open table yet could have come later but not given the option on line
Breakfast was excellent value for money great view if you sit on high top seats by the window
View of Thames, could see St. Paul’s, Shard and the South Bank skyline - fabulous
Nicely redecorated and rebranded, now a nice intimate gastro pub. Good food and service was lovely although it was very quiet when we arrived at midday! Toilets still part of the old bar downstairs so a little out of keeping with the style but a great addition to the neighbourhood.
It is an interesting venue, with a useful location. Food quality was good, for the price - however, the food took an age to come out. I had invited an ex-colleague for lunch and it was embarrassing.
Took over an hour for one sharing plate to reach the table then the seafood very undercooked! Delightful waitress but the rest very poor
Really handy location, friendly staff and tasty food - not too noisy either so nice spot for a cosy chat
We went for Saturday lunch but found out when we got there that they were only doing the brunch menu. However the charming staff member asked the chef and they agreed to do the sharing platters for us from the main menu.
Music was very loud, but turned down upon request. Service was very good but they were not very busy. Nice surroundings and excellent location.
