    Took my girlfriend to Humphreys for lunch for her birthday. They seated us promptly by the window. Lovely view of the marina. The ambience was very nice and the service was excellent. I ordered the crusted halibut and my friend the salmon. Both were delicious! My friend was also treated to a complimentary slice of cheesecake for her birthday. This is a great spot and will definitely return.

    Our 15th Wedding Anniversary dinner. We were seated next to a large group (for the view). The group was so loud, it sounded like we were at a bar and grill. We could not hear the soft music playing in the background and could barely hear ourselves talking. The food was okay. I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the scallops. The food was not what we expected… chef being creative I guess.

    My niece suggested I celebrate my birthday there and it was an excellent choice. We had a window seat with a view of the boats docked in the bay. It was a lovely setting; tables were elegantly set. The server was very attentive. Although we were the first to be seated at 5:30 it slowly started filling up by the time we left.

    Wonderful experience. We celebrated two birthdays and the waiter was super sweet! The service was a little slow and consisted of fighting off flies. Other than that, the food was great!

    Pro's: Lovely, spacious dining room, friendly servers, good coffee Con's: The food, except for the scrambled eggs, was all "pre-fab". Hollandaise congealed, bread and English muffins cold, sausage dry and crispy.... Not coming back.

    WHAT MUSIC??? Our first time there. Was there supposed to be a quartet or a mariachi band… NO AMBIANCE felt like Dennys on a Monday morning. We had breakfast: lobster omelette and crab Benedict which was both tangy tasteful. The waiter FORGOT the FRUIT BOWL so no comment on the dish except for the lackadaisical service.

    Everything about the restaurant was phenomenal. They have a huge wine list. It is two columns front and back ranging from $28 to $850. The food was delicious and well plated. The shrimp were huge. Would def recommend eating here

    Hostess needs an attitude check. In this app the option to place a specific request are offered. Requested a table by the window because of Marina view- we are avid sailors. Also stated it was our anniversary dinner. We’ve been patron’s several years in a row. Hostess were rudely declared that no table requests can be made. Also why ask about special occasion if it’s ignored anyways. It takes away from having a nice dinner experience if I have to remind about the request! tables did become available within minutes of us getting seated. Hostess cared more about how cool she was in her tight leather pants.

    I am picky so the reason for my food rating. It was ok but not fantastic for me. The music was great. The venue was crowded which is a good sign. Due to how many people were there. In my opinion there was not enough servers for that crowd. I had to go to the bar myself on more than one occasion. I got tired of waiting for someone to check on us. I had to go to the bar to find our waitress to get my tab closed out. Someone bumped out table and glass broke. I had to go to the bar to request the clean up while my friends stayed at the table to warn people of the glass.

    The server was frazzled and inconsistent. When we asked for small things like "salt" she looked anxious and asked us if our food was OK. The food was very good but even though it wasn't crowded there felt like an aire of chaos.

    Went there on Father’s Day! I had not been there in over 10 years. My last experience there was amazing. Fabulous buffet and amazing food. Sorry to say but this weekend was ruined by the horrible food. And even worst customer service. The older lady that took our order was pleasant but not attentive. Forgot many things and also didn’t bother to replace the mistaken item she brought to out table. I want to say this was Dennys quality or worst! In a nice setting. The food lacks a wow factor, presentation and soooo much more. With so many options in San Diego it’s sad to see such an establishment like Humphreys serve such mediocre meals. I should of stayed clear after reading the mother day reviews but I still wanted to give it a try. My spiced toast was just that. Fruit compote looked old and a very small portion. The lavender Chantilly was overwhelming in lavender it did not pair well. Presentation was poor. My husband had a short rib hash. He’s not picky so he said it was just ok. Forgot one last thing my toast had a piece of fish so that ruined them. The side of cold ham that I did not order made it worst. Day old bacon. Everything was just awful. Except the view. Save your money and go elsewhere.

    Had lunch there because of RFKJr Rally. Salad was excellent-Salmon below average Waitress pleasant-but got the order wrong, then when she brought the rest of it-salmon was rare (Not sushi quality) had to send it back.

    THE FOOD! Okay? Yeah, there's a view of the harbor and the wait staff are super nice and the chairs are outstandingly comfy, but THE FOOD. The four of us were all astonished by our disparate entrees. Macadamia Halibut. Steak. Huge scallops... Go for the meal, get all the rest, because it's more than you expected.

    Too many drunk people at two tables super loud and couldn't even hear each other at our table. Manager was rude the food was old and reheated, completely ruined my son's birthday!! Never going back. I give this place a - star!!!

    Very slow in someone coming to our table with water or coffee. It takes quite sometime to get the food we ordered. Very loud that you couldnt hear across the table or carry on a conversation. We won’t return.

    The food was very good. I got the salmon with baby beets, arugula, in bacon broth. I usually don’t like beets, but this dish was fantastic! I could tell it was the meal elements were thoughtfully planned. The shrimp cocktail was excellent, and my husband enjoyed the pork chop dish. The only downside was the noise level. The restaurant dining area is next to the bar / music area and the music from the bar was so loud. That’s not really my scene, and I didn’t go to a restaurant to hear all that. Then, a party of 12 or so people were extremely loud. The staff eventually moved the party to a different room, but at the time I couldn’t hear my husband across the table from me. Mona was our server and she was attentive and helpful. For an idea of pricing, two entrees, an appetizer and a non-alcoholic refresher cost over $110, including tip.

    It wasn’t a buffer it was half a buffet. The food looked like it was poor quality and there wasn’t even a chicken option except for the chicken nuggets which looked store bought. If it wasn’t Mother’s Day I would have canceled my reservation. We had two reasons why the the food quality was so poor. Budget constraints and the head chef was out sick. It was a $20 meal for $95. We’ve been there for past Mother’s Day and the quality and selection was much better. They should refund 50% of the charge. Won’t come back for Mother’s Day.

    Brunch food quality was at the level of free, included breakfast at a mid level hotel at best. Terrible eggs Benedict in a chafing dish that were sitting in water and horrible looking. Everything else was of low quality as well other than the OK omelet station. Brunch for 5 people plus 6 mimosas cost $645 including tip. If the food was even just half way ok I might be able to swallow that price tag. I do very well and won't blink an eye tipping Valet $50 but this price should have been about $180 for the quality of food and ambiance. I felt completely robed. Brunch buffet should have really raised a red flag for me to begin with but I thought it might be good giving the high $$$. I was incredibly wrong.

    Mother’s Day brunch was a disappointment starting with the fact that Humphreys no longer does jazz during brunch which was not stated anywhere including their website. The food quality was also not good. We attended these brunches for many years and it was a favorite for my mom and I. Im sure this was something out in place post Covid; we can do regular brunch anywhere. The draw was the wide array of seafood and breakfast options accompanied by great music. Hopefully they return things to normal soon.

    We booked this last minute on Mothers Day. I didn’t notice they had a Mothers Day Brunch until after they charged my card for the reservation. So we went, it’s by the water and very nice. The brunch was little disappointing for $95.00 each. The food was good just not a lot of choices. I can think of a dozen other restaurants we could have ate at for lot less. The place was full so I am sure they will do it again next year. I advice try somewhere else.

    My sister and I wanted to take my grandma out to a place that we’ve been going to over the past couple of decades. Reminisce in the amazing views this restaurant has to offer. This time, thankfully, we were sat near the windows & had a direct view of the marina, absolutely gorgeous. As I marveled at the view from our table, my grandma and sister went to partake in the brunch. When the came back, my grandma was obviously upset with something. I didn’t want to ask because that would manifest the conversation so I let it be. Throughout the brunch she was still upset and eventually vocalized how her issues with brunch: • selection (used to be much larger variety of seafood and meat) • quality (meat was dry, over cooked, some over salted and grease not dried. Dessert was terrible on all fronts!) • price ($95 per person for the holiday brunch) I agree with all of her issues but didn’t want to express it & possibly ruin her Mother’s Day brunch. My biggest problem is open table said the brunch would be $51 at most and that’s all it was worth (regarding selection and quality). Are we supposed to be paying an extra $40 bc of the view or?

    For the price the food did not match. I remember years back they used to have a music station 98.1 in their lobby. They used to have oysters, variety of seafood and even an ice cream station, endless mimosas and chocolate dipped strawberries. For a brunch (11:30am) there wasn’t even scrambled eggs.

    I could not apologize to my Mother enough for the poor service we received yesterday (5/14/23) on Mother's Day. We have been frequent patrons of Humphreys for over 20+ years and this is the first time service has been deplorable. We were advised that Tiffany was new. No problem. Well...unfortunately Tiffany showed that she was new and out of her depth. All in her section were talking amongst ourselves asking had we seen her and was she attentive to our needs. We only saw Tiffany when she was bringing our checks. We had to flag her down for a beverage refill. Tony was more attentive. He is the best. He kept checking on us and even brought my Mom a fresh coffee refill. All things Tiffany should have done. I am used to the Lynn and Jackie services over the years. They were truly exceptional and definitely missed now.
