The food and service are always great. However, it is also always cold in the restaurant and I suggest you bring a coat or sweater, even in the summer. And the music in the bar is varied and enjoyable. I was celebrating a friend's birthday and they provided the most yummy cake for us to enjoy!
Luncheon for five in the Holiday Spirit was great. Menu spectrum satisfies all, preparation and presentation was super satisfying. The room, the surroundings and the staff make a place to visit often.
What a great place for Christmas Eve Luncheon with friends. Beautiful room, fine menu, and well prepared selections. Outstanding views of the marinas, a totally pleasant experience with great food and service.
Beautifully decorated for the holiday season Humphreys Point Loma is a San Diego classic.
Pam was hands on and took care of us well. Humphreys was the venue of my first date and the food, service and ambience continue to be as outstanding as it was 15 years ago.
Antonio, Charee and Carlos were amazing!!!! They were so pleasant and so attentive, always asking if everything was OK, kept refilling our mimosas, water and clearing our dirty plates. Excellent customer service!!! Thank you guys!
Without a doubt.Food was great ,service was spectacular, staff was very informative and delightful.
We had a wonderful night out celebrating our birthdays. We had the Salmon over charred corn and The Macadamia nut crusted Halibut. They were both excellent!
Can't go wrong with Gordon Goodwin Phat Band. Our dinner was also outstanding.
We enjoyed the Sunday Champagne Brunch. Nice selection of food. The lemon-raspberry tart is to die for!
Though one order came out late and prepared a little different from what we expected, management made a sincere effort to rectify the situation to our satisfaction. Will definitely return.
Will have to try it out again at lunch time. We went on a Sunday night and the dining room was almost empty. Staff seemed disorganized and not ready to do business. Salad was very lightly dressed and even watery. Main course of Salmon was excellent.
I was impressed by the diversity in the menu and wine list.
Our dinner was fabulous. There was a show going on in the lounge and we could hear a bit of it. It was nice. Our service was wonderful and our meal was superb.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience at Humphrey's. From the beautiful dining adjacent to the water to the exquisite brunch spread, truely something I would recommend. Our server Laura was excellent. Attentive and warm throughout our stay. The only blemish on our afternoon was the fact that we were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and had requested a table with a view. I understand these are simply requests, but it would be greatly appreciated if they would be acknowledged at check in even if they are unable to be met. As for the birthday, a simple 'Happy Birthday!' would have sufficed. All in all, a pleasant afternoon. Thank you.
Beautiful views. Good food. But I felt like I should be in Las Vegas. Decor was a visual overload, average service. I was expecting more based on other reviews.
Outstanding brunch! Fresh seafood, omelets made to order, two carving stations and a full dessert table plus lots more. Bottomless champagne and mimosas too.
Great time at Humphreys, both dining and music. We look forward to returning.
The food was okay, but at this price point, there are IMO several better options.
New Menu - great choices! The ambiance was delightful as the sun set. Service was excellent. The corn chowder was great and so were the scallops!
From the hostess to servers all was amazing. The food was delicious and the view of the boats was amazing.
Humphrey's has one of the best brunches in San Diego. Great value for the money with many great food choices. You can't leave hungry. Great service with keeping your mimosa or other drinks topped off. Great view out the window as well. We went during a non holiday weekend Sunday and it was the same food as during a much more crowded holiday weekend.
Nah. Not worth the effort and expense. Waiting 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us arriving speaks volumes to the rest of the service. Just incredible the lack of training.
I found the menu to be very limited. The selections weren’t what I expected. The Blue Wave in the Best Western hotel down the street offered much better choices.
Very Nice view of the sunset! Perhaps a few more ‘healthy’ options of food selections?? Fewer cream sauces or fried items. Perhaps roasted vegetables and halibut fish presentations or a crisp seasonal green salad entrees with a protein selection etc.. Just a thought.
First time here and came for Sunday brunch to celebrate the August birthdays in my family. If you want a nice view while dining, I suggest calling in advance and requesting a table in the center part of dining room area facing the water or by the windows facing the water, if it is available. Part of the dining area in the front faces the parking lot. Unfortunately, our table faced the parking lot and it was not the view I wanted for a pricey brunch. The hot meat entrees at brunch were good and the seafood is just okay.
I came for my birthday lunch on a Sunday. I looked at the menu online. When I arrived, I did not realize that it was brunch only. Even though the food was great, brunch is expensive & I don’t feel like I get my money’s worth because I can’t eat that much. If I knew it was brunch only, I would not have gone.
Should be able to have the option for brunch or regular menu.
Such a lovely view and service was excellent. Would go there again.
This was our first time experience for their Sunday Brunch. We were awe-struck at the dining area. Beautifully arranged. Our server was awesome! The food and the variety of food was perfect.
My only concern was when we checked in. We were about ten fifteen minutes early. The hostess checked our reservation and asked us to take a seat. We did just that thinking they for certain let us know when they were ready for us. However, we watched as four parties without reservations were seated prior to us. When we checked with the hostess she said that they had called our name and no one answered. I have unusual name and know for certain we were not called. Others also said they didn't hear our name. Also, no one checked with us to follow up. Considering the cost and ambiance of this experience I found that disappointing. I will go to another one and hopefully this won't happen again.
We were there around 12-1pm. The pies were pretty much gone and no fresh ones were brought out. The prime rib was pretty dry and not very appetizing. Not the best buffet for a $65 price.
Been here before and was really looking forward to it. My Little Gem Salad as a started was very bland and I got the butts of the romaine so I was bummed. Bone in New York was good, again needed more seasoning. Was really looking forward to the creme brûlée but they were OUT on a Saturday night so again, I was bummed. Still good though and most likely will eat there again.
Great food! I am glad you have the option to dine away from the live music.
Amazing service, view, venue; food was delicious. Music was great!
This is one local gems and I don’t think this restaurant and this part of San Diego is well known by tourists. Which is not a bad thing because it’s not crowded.
Anyway the food was really good. I ordered a Ahi Tuna sandwich (nothing fancy you would think) and this was the best Ahi I ever had. My wife liked her food too.
The view was great too and the service excellent! How much more do you want?
The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend and we will be back.
All very good, a special place. It was our 3rd visit that week, we’ll be back!
Friend busing from out of town.
Humphrey's restaurant looked even more beautiful than I remember; the chairs in the dining room look brand new, and the bathrooms apparently were remodeled at some point. (I haven't been there for a while.) I had a guest in town and wanted someplace where we could talk and have a nice view. It was a week night so I thought we'd be able to get a table by the window and we did. Our server was outstanding, the food was good, and the wine was very good. Overall it was a very nice night.
First time visitors at Humphrey's, since it was our 45th anniversary we wanted it to be a special
place and it was. Great service from Robert our waiter for the evening, also the new chef with
offerings from the menu that were delightful. Clean and nicely decorated dining room.
Would plan on going back hopefully for number 46.
