We read great reviews prior to visiting...just wasnt a great experience. For a small menu it should have had more wow this is fantastic!! Tortillas were hard and chewy the bread served with white fish dip looked like it had been torched not toasted. Had a burnt taste.

Great repurposing of a house in New Buffalo. Eclectic and interesting design. Extensive cocktail menu and good wine list. Food menu is limited but has something for everyone. Definitely a good addition to the dining options in Michiana.

Emailed manager asking if they served dessert since we were celebrating our friend's birthday - he responded quickly that they do not but would certainly find a cupcake for her. After a delicious dinner he appeared with cupcakes for our party of 10!! Above and beyond!

Pretty low key place. Odd configuration in the house that makes it feel like you’re alone, which was not the vibe we were going for that night. The outside looked great! It was too cold to be out there, sadly. 2 out of the 3 drinks we ordered were not really drinkable, the proportions were off. Think that the one part became the two part and vocal versa. I would recommend sticking with a beer or something else on tap.

We ended up having a nice evening but I reserved weeks in advance for our group of 8 and ended up having to sit upstairs...which was not set up for us, has limited decor, and felt fairly cold and impersonal...losing all of the wonderful ambiance that we love at this place! On top of it, they didn't even have the place set up for us so clearly that was a Plan B (no chairs, no table settings, etc.) We were told the owner had friends who took the two tables they usually put together for a group of our size...but again, we had a reservation and somehow lost our table?...seems unfair. Also, sitting upstairs made it harder for the servers to adjust to issues like a missing drink, mixed up orders, etc. To be sure, the team did their absolute level best to make it as positive of an experience as possible- HUGE kudos to all of them! - but as I was hosting friends new to the area, it was not what was planned or expected. Just a fair warning that the upstairs is not really anywhere as nice as the rest of the place. We will return, but only as a 2 or 4 person group as I am worried the same may happen.

Potent drinks and fresh food. Would have liked a little more honey/siracha mayo on the chicken tacos for additional flavor, really only had the flavor profile of the slaw. Chicken breast was nice and moist, if a tad bit salty. We would return.

Great atmosphere! We will go again for sure! The drinks and appetizers were spot on. We also enjoyed that it was close to our dinner location, so we could just walk and enjoy the beautiful fall evening.

Creative cocktails and inspired small plate dishes make Hummingbird Lounge a unique experience in Née Buffalo and Harbor Country. One can order a few dishes that perfectly pair with drinks or one can order several dishes and make a meal out of their fare. Patrons have several seating choices: the bar, the fireplace room, one of the upstairs private rooms, the covered deck, the Court yard, the lower level annex building or the upper level. Private event spaces for different size groups are also unique. Cheerful, friendly staff add to the total experience. Definitely get a few orders of the tacos, and the seasonal corn dip. The top notch cocktails, food, service and atmosphere combine to make this a great experience.
