Food and drinks were great- amazing fries, fish and chips, burger, salad, crab cakes- salmon entree was slightly overcooked, but I didn't ask them to replace it. The service was great- very attentive- so they probably would have if I asked. Drinks were a huge win- get the spicy pineapple drink. Atmosphere was fun- beachy, more upscale inside in the main building. Will definitely be back.

Ben, the owner, is fantastic!! We came for Mothers Day Brunch which was buffet style. Food was delicious, homemade, fresh and beautifully presented.

First visit, will return and hope to sit somewhere other than under a speaker! Clean, good food, good service, if a little pricey. My carrots were almost raw and no seasoning, but meat and potatoes were delicious.

We had dinner at the Hummingbird on a Saturday evening. We were very surprised to see that the restaurant was really quiet for a Saturday. Ambiance was nice but little on stark side. Menu was basic and has not changed from what I can tell from other reviews. I asked about specials, but there were none. We tried the smoked pineapple margarita and it was good. We had the short rib dish, lemon chicken and tuna appetizers. Found it all to be good- not out of this world. Seems to be a lack of creativity here. We would probably go back for cocktails.

We enjoyed two tasty lunch size portions for the price of dinner. The salmon was a good quality but with no sauce would be very bland. We ordered a side of brussel sprouts for $7 that measured maybe a cup. Not enough to share but made a great flavor adder to the salmon. The $10 wine was very light and a low quality house. I watched as the tender was careful not to over pour a serving directly into the glass. All and all, good dinner, just over priced and needs a little bit extra to desire a return visit.

First time here and loved it! The cocktails were great. Between my husband and I, we had a Negroni and an espresso martini - both excellent! Ordered the roast chicken and short ribs - both beautifully seasoned, flavors were great! Cozy low lit vibe and was fun to sit at the bar post dinner. Service was very friendly and we received great suggestions. Would absolutely come back!

The crabcakes were delicious! The hamburgers were perfectly cooked and the fries very tasty. The cabernet sauvignon was smooth. The fireplace room was quiet and pretty. And the service was perfect.

App’s delicious, asked for burger to be med rare but came medium , so wasn’t as juicy as I had hoped. Fries delish. There was a very annoying heater over our heads that kept blowing very dry heat on us which was awful. Our eyes were literally drying up. Something needs to be done about that and not tell the customers who just spent $350 or more on dinner that “it has a mind of its own”

Awesome gem in downtown New Buffalo! We always look for the places that look and taste like home .....and Hummingbird Lounge did not disappoint! First it looks like you are going to your grandma's house which is really cool. The rooms are decorated really nice. We sat in the "living room" with the fireplace. My wife had the fish n chips which was outstanding. I opted for the crab bisque soup which was also awesome. To start we had the smoked whitefish dip which was my favorite. All-in-all a great experience, and will definitely be going back!

The Smoked Pineapple Margarita was perfect with just the right amount of smokiness and not too sweet. I loved it! Our meals were beyond amazing. We had the salmon and the portobello vegetarian bowl. The seasonings and presentation were creative and perfectly flavored. The chef accommodated my request to make my meal gluten free and offered me several option to replace the cous cous in the dish. Serving size was generous, but not too much. Overall we can’t wait to go back and try other menu items that look just as intriguing. The staff were friendly, professional, and efficient and the owner was great, making sure everyone felt welcome. It felt like the food was a great value because of the really high quality, the cozy atmosphere, and the excellent service!

Warm, friendly, local spot for dinner! Hubby had the short ribs and I had the chicken - both very solid with fresh ingredients, good portions (no leftovers but we were both very satisfied). Great cocktails, smooth service, and pleasant atmosphere in a welcoming space. Would love to go back in warmer weather!

I went for the first time last night and loved it! We were able to get seats at the bar which we prefer. Everything was so good! We had the corn dip, smoked whitefish dip, and the burger. Was sadly too full for dessert but we will be back!
