We actually never ate. After waiting at the host stand for about 5 minutes without being greeted, we finally decided to just sit at the bar top. Although nobody was seated at the bar, none of the spots had been cleaned from prior guests. The bartender told us we could just sit at a table close to the bar area. He then greeted us and we ordered 2 waters and bottomless mimosas, but we never received them. After waiting a full 20 minutes after being seated, and still not even having been served ice waters, we decided to leave.

Our family came for brunch for the Astros. We had reservations but ended being over 15 minutes late. They were still able to seat us immediately. Service was very good and our food was great. Highly recommend!

Went for HRW menu but they offered one that was a better option. My guests and I all selected something from their Chef’s Express menu. This included starter, main and dessert. It took over 45 minutes to receive our starter. All of us were there for our lunch hour and made it late back to work. The food was good when it arrived but there was nothing express about the service. It wasn’t very busy either maybe 4 other tables and they all seemed to be waiting as well.

I visited three times during restaurant week. I had lunch on Wednesday. The service was excellent. Chris was our waiter and did an excellent job addressing our needs. That said, the restaurant seemed unprepared for guests. We were told the restaurant’s price fixe menu wasn’t ready. They offered us 3 items from the regular menu—a starter, main dish and dessert. The starters—salads and brussel sprouts—were delicious and we quickly became full. The main dishes—the chicken sandwich, and pasta with chicken, were delicious. Neither of us liked dessert. The peach sorbet and peach cobbler weren’t very good. The service was slow and there were only two other guests. The second visit, the service was incredibly even slower. I waited 45 minutes from order to getting my food, in a near empty room—there was a large party in the other dining area/room. The food was very good. Today, I’m waiting for brunch. I believe the restaurant is understaffed and the kitchen is incredibly slow. The food is very good but you’ll wait to get it.

Way understaffed...slow service. Had to seat myself and waited 20 minutes to order. Food was good...but would go somewhere else for cheaper food and better service.

We were in town for Family Reunion & leaving Sunday ( Father's Day). Our son picked Hull & Oak since it was close to our hotel & menu looked good. Once seated our Server/ host was attentive in the beginning. Our coffee was warm and weak. There was a server who walked around with a coffee carafe but NEVER stopped at our table. My cappuccino was Meh. The Menu looked promising however the results did not fit the description nor meet up to the price. Hubby's Peaches & cream pancakes were a little undercooked. Eggs Benedict brisket had BBQ sauce which was too sweet. My Laura's sandwich ( plain bagel w/ sliver of salmon & dill cream cheese, egg) was Seriously lacking in flavor & looked pitiful for the price. My daughter's Croussant sandwich was good. I don't know kw where the Southern Kitchen description comes in. This won't be a repeat visit when we return to Houston

Had a business lunch, first time there. Waitress’ attitude reflected her frustrations on how long we took before ordering. It was quite clear that we were there for business meeting. Food was good but not good enough to compensate for waitress’ attitude- will never go back.

We waited to be seated, as the sign at the front said. Nobody greeted us, so after about five minutes, another patron said to seat ourselves. We went at least 5-10 minutes before an expediter came to bring us water. There was one waiter and he didn’t acknowledge us for about 20 minutes as he fumbled with another table. The food was mediocre for a nice hotel and the service didn’t get any better. By the time we were asking for our check, there were three tables sat out of about 15, but all the others were dirty. They were also turning people away because there were no clean dishes to use. Overall, we were there for over an hour to get a simple brunch, but it was one of the worst service experiences we have ever seen in a restaurant of any caliber.
