Great seafood and steaks and can't beat the location.
Sophia was our server and was excellent. The food is consistent and the service is always super.
We went there for a birthday dinner. Food and service were excellent. You have to try the frog legs appetizer. The only downside was our table location was a bit cramped.
They shoved us in the back room that was stale, freezing cold and empty. It was extremely rude and ruined our dinner. The manager was not helpful and didn't seem to care.
The Food and Service were fantastic. Never Disappoints!
Hugo's is a delight every time! Best restaurant in the city.
Great food. Crab cakes are the best in the city and Bob our server was great. Special treat to eat in the Winston Churchill office elevator! Always a a great way to go with Gibson’s or Hugos
Can’t wait to go back here one day!! Highly recommend.
The crowds waiting for tables were intimidating, couldn't wedge ourselves into the bar for a pre-dinner drink, but they honored our 6:30 reservation right on time. The server was as friendly and helpful as could be and steered us well on choices. Great food: oysters with a delish vinaigrette, tuna and peppers for me, and creme brulee for dessert as good as it gets. More crowded and noisy than I usually like, yet it was also a mood-lifter to be surrounded by so many people enjoying a Saturday night out. Felt like a part of a collective good time.
Hugo's has great seafood, Huge-o desserts, great ambiance, and a great location.
It *can* be crowded, especially on holiday weekends.
Always delicious and great service.
Everything was great, beside the fact they ran out of many items on the menu. Overall good experience!
I was surprised at how dried out the crab cakes were. The crab legs were too salty to consume. The filet slider was supposed to be medium plus but arrived well done and charred. I’m almost 100% sure the Don Julio we asked for was not Don and in fact something else it burned like absolut vodka. Unfortunate. This place used to be good.
all food was bland and without seasoning. dining room was crowded, loud and freezing from front door constantly opening. server was fast and attentive.
I love how the menu is filled with a variety of comfort foods. The best part: DESSERT
One of the few places in Chicago to get frogs legs and they are superb.
great food and the crab cakes are fabulous . the crab cakes are so big that you can split them with your date. the service was also great.
Came to Hugo’s to celebrate Valentines Day (a day early). We had amazing food and fantastic service. It’s become one of our favorite spots when visiting Chicago.
Hugo’s is a classic place to enjoy a superb, wonderful dinner. The seafood menu was unbelievably good. Can’t believe the Dover Sole that was part of Valentines Day special, was just the best. I’m always very pleased with their food and service. Great place to spend your special occasion.
Service from front door to wait staff was awesome. Great place to feel welcome
Steak was great, fish was Luke warm and mediocre. If wasn’t special occasion would have sent back to kitchen. Fish has to be piping hot.
Fantastic service. Very good food but the 14oz Filet was kind of dry on the ends. Perfect in the middle but dry on the ends and did not have great flavor. Still a good steak and great place though.
Great place to dine, really enjoyed the frog legs. Made my wife happy on her birthday, thanks a lot!!!
First, let me begin by saying the food was very good. I was on travel staying at the Waldorf Astoria and was looking for the same five star service. However, the waiter was not attentive, he spoke to a white couple sitting directly across from me for 10 minutes off and on. I could not get his attention to provide me with a box so I asked the gentleman who was busing the tables to bring me one. He did not bring me the check so I asked the manager. He spoke to the other couple about where they were from North Carolina here on vacation, they spoke about politics and who he has seen that is famous like Jesse Jackson. They spoke about the Republicans etc you get my point. He left me abruptly in the beginning while going over the menu to run over to their table to place their food on the table as it came on a tray. Most businesses go out of business not because of the food or the ambience. They go out of business because the leadership does not train the staff to provide excellent service. I left him a $5.00 tip which he did not deserve but I gave the man busing the tables $10.00 just for bringing me a "BOX" . God help us for not treating EVERYONE with the same dignity and respect. Blessings to you all. Dr. Deborah L Tillman

Went here last Saturday night for the first time, had to wait 25 minutes despite reservation - but they comped us a glass of wine. Service was attentive. The New England Clam Chowder was excellent . We both had planked whitefish and that was excellent as well.
Spot on as always. Our waiter was conscientious and helpful. We never felt rushed. It was exactly what we wanted. We had a fantastic dinner while visiting with friends. Thanks
Unfortunately it was a very crowded night and we had to wait 30 min. For our 7 pm reservations. We were seated at 7:35.
The food was great and our service very good too.
The topper was the fabulous desert!!! We enjoyed celebrating our daughters birthday and son’s graduation.
The food was dynamite and the service was outstanding! Fun environment!
This was our annual trip to Chicago for the Car Show.
Quiet table, good food and cocktails
Good food, a bit pricey, but that's expected when it's a Gibson's restaurant. Great, attentive service.
Do not go here for the famed walleye. They never have it! I have called TWICE and was told it was on the menu. When I arrived both times was informed that they do not. Abruptly left the second time, and went to Shaw's and enjoyed their Lake Perch.
Exceptional food and service
Great food and ambience. The drinks are also done very well. Just love this place
This was a birthday celebration. Five friends out for the evening at a new restaurant all of us had been to Gibson’s, but not Hugo’s. The biggest issue is that we were five people at a table for four. The placement of the table made for a somewhat uncomfortable space. Not good.
The food was excellent. We had a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts. All were beautifully prepared and delicious. Expensive, but worth it. There are a number of more reasonably priced dishes, but we didn’t choose them!
Ulysses was are server and he did a good job. Knowledgeable and accommodating.
This is a great “special occasion” spot. Will certainly return.
Staff were amazing and offered great suggestions. Fresh seafood was fantastic
We were four guys enjoying a fun and delicious dinner!
The sea bass and Seared tuna was remarkable! Service was great and we had a great evening!
Whenever we visit Chicago we always go to Hugo’s!! We love everything about the place!
It was amazing! Our waiter, Kellan, was the best! He did everything he could to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our dinner. The food was outstanding. The drinks were delicious. We cannot wait to go back!
The food and service was wonderful! I highly recommend the Chilean Sea Bass and the Crab Cakes. Excellent flavor in every dish!
