   The extra cold martinis, the delicious brunch items, and the attentive service at Hudson House are always good! I used to be disappointed with the breakfast potatoes (undercooked every time I had them and so the texture and flavor were unimpressive), but the fries are amazing (!) and they are always happy to swap out the breakfast potatoes (the only thing on the menu I don’t like) with the perfect fries. BRUNCH IS SAVED!!! Also, we love to sit outside on the patio with the dog, and so it’s frustrating that you cannot reserve an outside table. It would be nice if you knew whether there was a spot outside available before we bring the dog (it’s not a big problem because there’s often outdoor seating at the larger dog-friendly patio next door when there’s no room on Hudson House’s patio).

   Although the service was excellent. There were times we were wondering when our waitress would come by our table for refills, additional needs, etc.

   Everything here is amazing. The food is great, the service is great, the value is great. HOWEVER, if you are someone who like to sit and talk and enjoy your evening talking post dinner, maybe pick a different spot. They give you a heads up that reservations are 90 minutes and I definitely experienced some eyes as I was trying to catch up with a friend I hadn’t seen in months that gave me the inclining to leave and feel a bit rushed.

   We had a great experience and the espresso martini is one of the best I’ve had! We will definitely be coming back!

   Food was at its best. Lobster roll just amazing. Deviled eggs were good but eat them with a fork. We had chicken parm, French chicken , cheeseburger and of course Mac n cheese which is to die for. Ambience is lovely. Service it typically attentive but tonight not so good. Perhaps since it was a holiday. She served two dinners and then much later served the other two. Did not refill water until we had to ask twice. Left dirty dishes in front of us. Just not the entire dining experience we hoped for BUT food shown strong !

    Hudson House is one of my favorite spots in Houston! I keep coming back to try everything off the menu. I will be back to try the lobster roll!
