Hudson House - Lovers Lane
Based on the rich culinary history of the Hudson Valley, Hudson House aims to pair that style of comfort food with the neighborhood vibe of the West Village in New York City.
This restaurant is great. If you love oysters and martinis you’ll be especially pleased. High recommend.
On my first trip to Hudson House the kitchen honored my request to fry their flounder which was perfect and delicious. On my recent visit, I was told the kitchen was no longer doing this because flounder is a flaky fish and sometimes was falling apart in the frying process. I don’t understand this excuse as many restaurants fry flounder. It seems to me a basket could be used if the concern is that the flounder is coming apart and messing up the grease in the deep fryer. I’m not a chef but if other restaurants can figure out how to deep fry flounder, it seems to me Hudson House should be able to as well.
Also, on my first visit, the fries were crisp and delicious. On my recent visit, they were soft and limp...not good! I’m not sure if there is a new chef or what has caused this restaurant to go downhill but I hope someone fixes it.
Thank you.
Great lunch!
The food and service were amazing. The pricing per portion was incredibly fair as well. The only critique I could find is the booth we were assigned - we made reservations well in advance and they sat us in the little corner booth near the bar galley area. I know that there were only two of us but we made a reservation 5 days in advance, and we were placed in a cramped space where the wait staff were literally hovering overhead on the next level. I would have actually preferred the bar to that spot. It’s out in the open and incredibly noisy in that area.
It was wonderful! Such great food and amazing drink options!
The food and cocktails were great. We will definitely be back again soon. I’m an East Coaster and Hudson House felt like home. Loved it!
Took my family to the Eagles Concert! It was perfect!
Food & drinks were delicious as always. Noise level is extremely high & making it very difficult to hear one another.
We normally really enjoy Hudson House and go there often. Yesterday, the potatoes au gratin and the tuna sandwich were not even close to the usual quality. The manager took care of it and handled it well, and this was very out of the norm there.
The steak frites and the chicken parmesan were excellent, with lots of good flavor. The homemade Oreo cheesecake was also good.
Nothing memorable about the food , ambiance or the experience.
Our waitress had great recommendations for the table and everyone’s food was delicious. They have great happy hour prices! We can’t wait to return!
Our server was sweet and kind, very apologetic over a couple of things that went awry, but food was excellent!
Noise level was not “Energetic “— it was more intolerable. At 830 at night, the space was full and very, very loud, with intermittent bursts of yelling from an over-served table of 7 next to me. I had the lobster roll, which at $22 came without any sides. I tried to tell the server it was too loud for dessert, but she probably could not hear me.
I will not be returning.
This place is fantastic. Food and service is top notch !
I took a client to lunch and the food and service was incredible! Hudson House has the best lobster roll in Dallas!
Like a moth to the flame ...we would rather go here for a weeknight dinner, than anywhere else in our neighborhood. Unsure exactly why this charming bistro is worth circling the parking lot, hoping for a space, and warming the bench, waiting for a table , we do it, happily, again and again, and are never disappointed with the food or the experience.
Make an open table reservation, and call Uber.
Best happy hour ever! The burgers are great, oysters always fresh. I have never been a huge martini fan, but now I am. The onion rings are the greatest too. Sitting at the bar is always fun, fellow happy hour customers are always friendly!
Great food, fun atmosphere.
Great! And did happy hour at Addison HH last night. Lovely!
It was very good. I wish it was not so loud
Absolutely one of the best restaurants we have been to in a while. Menu selection, wait service and quality were superior!
Incredible. Tuna tower salad for life. The cheese burger and chicken parm are also ridonk
Food was excellent. Service was excellent
It was soooooo loud. I was yelling at my husband. Not a pleasant experience at all.
First visit for us and we enjoyed every bite!! 3-6 Happy everyday and it was a Busy Friday night glad we made a reservation! Drinks were tasty tried Stoned Fruit and Blitz Betty... we both LOVE seafood and Hudson House did not disappoint....started with the Bouquet (12 oysters, Ahi tuna, 4 each crab claws & 4 shrimp with the fix'ns) deliciousness! Perfect start....we continue with the scallops-PERFECT! Buttery, fantastic... the man n cheese and the steak and blue cheese salad the Venture, if I remember the salad titles correctlyThe atmosphere we very enjoyable. Jordan our waitress great! She was on point with service and Although she was very busy she took the time to answer all our questions and visit with us. Great job, we will definitely be back! We want to hIt the happy hour!
The best environment just to hangout and talk, and the BEST food!! Can’t wait to go back!
Great food and GREAT service.
Would definitely recommend.
Great experience for pre-concert dinner with a friend. Was definitely crowded when we went, so a bit noisy. But the food was great, atmosphere was perfect and good service overall. Would recommend!
Great Happy Hour!
Worst bar service and manager I've ever seen in my life. Bad attitude.
Delicious salads and great service - perfect for a girls lunch!
The Tuna tartare is one of the best I’ve had. And you can’t go wrong with the truffle fries!
The Beverly Salad was AMAZING. They didn't fill up my water right away but overall had a great lunch experience.
Rafael is the best!
Looking forward to my next visit. So much on the menu I wanted to eat!
So refreshing to be offered the brunch menu AND the regular menu on a Sunday morning. Too many restaurants have restricted their weekend daytime menus to brunch-only menus. I’m just not a big fan of being forced to choose between egg or heavy carb selections. Thanks, Hudson House!
Have been here many times and usually love the experience. The food is always good and this time was no exception. This time the service was a disappointment. We made reservations for six well in advance, but we’re seated in a booth that was too small. Also, the server spilled my drink on me with approximately half of the volume gone. She did offer a slight apology, but did not seem sincere and she also did not offer to replace my drink. To make matters worse, the drink spilled on and stained some very expensive leather boots I own.
I hope this was a one-off instance. We have eaten here many times and usually have a good experience.
I would describe Hudson House as a really nice lunch spot.
Hudson House is a neighborhood favorite, but every time I go, I find it to be overrated and overpriced. The vibe is great and the staff is friendly, but I've had far better brunches other places. And the wait's just not worth it for dinner.
