Tables were well spaced out and servers/staff were wearing masks. We split the pulled pork BBQ nachos and mac & cheese skillet - more than enough food for two people. Sat near the stage and the music was good, not so loud we couldn't keep talking.
Arrived on time. Seated immediately. Almost 15 min for our server to come to our table. Got our drinks and ordered our food. 45 min later still hadn’t received our food. No explanation. Got up and walked out. A complete embarrassment. If I was owner I’d fire all the staff. Can’t wait to share my experience with others. Also, a nice bait and switch for “pass the line” to the show we were planning to attend. Website says come eat at the restaurant and get a pass to skip the line for the show that evening. When I ask for the pass, they say sorry that show doesn’t allow for pass the line. What a scam to get people to the restaurant before the show.
This was my first time eating at HOB, and was very disappointed. Our server was sweet, but the food was not great. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was very fatty and I couldn’t eat all of it. I ordered a small salad to start and got a behemoth size instead. My friend got the gumbo and said it tasted “off” for the price we paid it wasn’t worth it. Will most likely not go back to when we come for another concert.
Great food and even better service. The kitchen was fast given we were there before a concert.
Menu is horrible, atmosphere and live band all horrible. It was just a horrible experience. Maybe why no one was there, place was almost completely empty
JJ Grey concert was great after dinner and drinks !
Wonderful service amazing food — be sure to try the bourbon butter fried chicken. A live band was setting up but we had to leave before they started. Great place to eat lots of good food and walkable to the American Airlines Center so you can catch a game or a concert. We will be back for sure
The waitress was sucks
Really Amazing Spot for Dinner and some great music! Voodoo Shrimp was incredible flavor, jambalaya was perfectly seasoned! Drinks were on point, definitely try the beast of Bourbon cocktail!
The Band, Remy Reilly was excellent. The Carolina Mess had almost no cheese. I expect cheese with cheese fries. Fries were good, pulled pork was great and grave was fine. The brussel sprouts were sweet and mustardy, were not very good. Loved the vibe at the restaurant. The cheese burger was excellent. We will be back to eat there again, just have to be more careful what I order.
We sat 10 minutes before they took our drink order. 20 minutes more before our food order. Once we ordered, it took 40 minutes to get our food. It was only 2 entrees and a kid's meal. We watched food runners run all over the restaurant with food on a tray. They had no idea what food belonged where. It was chaos. And really overpriced for below average food quality. We'll never eat there again.
Service was really slow. My meal came out before my app. The food was very meh
Long delay to receive our food. We were late getting to the concert.
Never been there before....it was a great experience.....I'll go there again for sure....
Wasn’t disappointed, loved the experience. The staff is so kind and helpful. The musician that played that night was excellent. The food is good (although not outstanding) vast portions.
Overall a great experience. Definitely will come back again.
I am not sure who my waitress was but she was amazing. Food was great and so was the atmosphere.
We booked this dining experience as a precursor to the DAYGLOW Concert. Over all the experience was pleasant. However, for the money it was lacking in the typical amenities such as salt/pepper shakers, more than one plate for the appetizer, serving a can of beer without a glass, and other additional items. The server Kennedy was on point though! Her desire to get things right was immediately impressive. It isn't a bad review of this place more a critical critique of what could have been better.
The hostess was amazing to us. This was our first time and she even took the time to show us around the restaurant and where the stairs are for the event. Food was great and service too. Would definitely come back to this restaurant for any events at HOB.
If you’re looking for something fun to do …GO HERE! We came to visit and decided to do dinner then Trap Karaoke and it was so much more then we could have ever expected. Can’t wait to come back!
I just didnt like my grit cakes but the shrimp was ok
They were out of two of the dishes i spotted on the menu. The vegetables were undercooked and the salmon was super dry. Next time I’ll hit the jinya ramen bar around the corner before a show.
Family dinner with our boys. We liked the entertainment but our boys were not a big fan. They thought it was too loud and they weren’t a fan of the music. Hahah overall it was good.
45th wedding anniversary. we enjoyed our dinner and the music. was very relaxing and fun. we are from the country close to waco,tx so the change of atmosphere was great!
This venue seems to rely on its live music entertainment to get by. They do not put much effort into the food.
We ordered the $30 steak dinners. Both steaks were tough and greasy, the vegetables were chewy, the mashed potatoes were runny. The waiter was not attentive. I had to walk to the bar to get another round of drinks.
The experience was bad. And we drove 45 mins to get there which was really a disappointment.
First let me start by saying music was Incredible!! The server was really sweet. The drinks were over priced and took forever to receive and there were only a few tables in the whole place that were occupied. The food was also over priced, not as bad as the drinks however, and it was ok. I think the fries were everyone's favorite, not the chicken sandwich or the burger!!
Waitress was not attentive and made my dining experience less enjoyable . Having to wait a very long time for waitress for water and cocktails, and to ask for anything my table needed is not my idea of a date night dinner. My first time there and not sure if it’s always like that because table near by had same issue.
Do not eat dinner here. Worst service ever. Took forever (when the restaurant wasn’t even 30% full) and they couldn’t get anything right.
House of Blues needs to stick to drinks and concerts.
No body there! Dead! Messed up food order and it took forever
Poor service. Resulted in 1/2 price meal. Order was wrong and never corrected.
Great service and food
Service was excellent! Very attentive. Food was great and came out quick. Will be going back again.
Good dinner, friendly staff
We would definitely come back and will recommend it!
Noise level is energetic when band is playing. Otherwise, was much quieter during breaks.
We had four for dinner and Trinity River Blues night (on Tuesdays). Absolutely fabulous music and food was excellent. We ordered four different items: shrimp poor boy, brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and a mac-and-cheese side. Food was served at one time (I noticed a poster noted different times of serving being an issue). The broiche sandwich buns are great.
We had a lovely time, as we always do.
I made reservations an hour later than I wanted to because it showed everything was booked at 8pm. When we got there, there were 2 other tables and the music was late in starting and ended an hour later. The restaurant closed shortly after the music ended. This was on a weekend. Pretty pathetic for House of Blues.
The service was good but the food was not great. The drink selection was limited. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place if you want good food and drink. For the price of the food and drinks I expected the quality to be better.
Patrick was awesome … he waited on us perfectly… he was also very busy but with the amount of attention he gave us …you couldn’t tell
Thank you for your kind words, it was unusual circumstances, to say the least. We hope to see you guys again soon! Best regards, Patrick F.
Our experience with dining was good but we had a terrible experience with the venue when it came to the concert. We reserved dinner at 6 and for a show in another section of building at 8. We are
From out of town so had to take a uber to the restaurant which is attached the the concert venue. Checked website before we went to make sure here were no restrictions at concert and none were listed. When the other couple that went with us went to enter concert venue they refused to let them on because she had a purse with her. There was a sign there that said no purse but they had just paid $25+ for an Uber ride there and had nowhere to leave her purse so they had to leave even after explaining there was no restrictions listed on the pages website or Facebook page as to bags. Fortunately the girl at the check in stand inside the actual restaurant was nice enough to hide my bag for me at her stand but we had to leave the concert early to get the bag because they closed at 10 and concert wasn’t over until 10:30. When I went to concert entrance I had my wallet with me because I don’t want to leave it with my purse the two people at the entrance weren’t going to let me in with my wallet either. I had to explain to them that they already refused my friends entrance because of her purse so I had made arrangements to have my purse held in the restaurant but wasn’t leaving my wallet. They finally agreed to let me in with a wallet. Then once my husband and I were inside the concert venue, we saw at least 20+ women inside with shoulder carry purses. My fiends had to miss the show and we’re not refunded for their tickets and we had to leave the show early to ensure we could get my purse. The staff at the concert side were very rude and seemed to be selective of who they allowed inside with a purse or not. It was a bad experience for us and I assure we won’t be back there for another show and would not recommend any fiends or family do there for a show either.
Hello, Thank you for your honest feedback. Without it, we wouldn't be unaware of situations like this. I have passed on this review to our executive team and we have come up with an idea to prevent this in the future (such as a bag check at the valet, and a device, similar to one at an airport to check your carry-on size.). We would love a chance to win your business back, I will be following up via email. Warm regards, Patrick F.
Thank you for the wonderful service at your restaurant prior to the Scarypoolparty concert for our large group. And THANK YOU for having such a wonderful and talented artist - Scarypoolparty- at your venue!!
The baby back ribs we ordered were tough. We sent them back to order poboys but was still charged for the ribs. We didn’t realize it until leaving the restaurant. Not happy
