I always enjoy dining at houlihan’s. I wish they could adjust their patio umbrellas for lunch and dinner. The patio is on the east side & so few tables are in the shade at lunch. They should be able to tilt.
Loved being able to sit on the patio! Great service, as we were greeted, seated, and had drinks quickly. Great variety of food and perfect portion size.
We have visited Houlihan's at least once a month since it opened. Obviously, we enjoy the restaurant. Food is good and service is usually excellent. Our recent experience was bipolar. Our server was excellent, but the host who seated us let us down from the outset. When he led us to our seats in the patio, he didn't hold the door for us - simply let it slam in our faces! Then plopped down the menus and walked away. More so, even though we asked him to report our arrival to Open Table - a couple of times through our server - it never happened. We actually received a text (more than an hour after getting there) saying that our reservation had been canceled. We had to get management involved to confirm our reservation had been fulfilled. One of our entrees also arrived ice cold. It was replaced and we were given a credit on our bill. All in all, our dinner was just OK this time, but not the sort of Houlihan's experience we're used to.
Would be awesome to be able to purchase a side order of the special side. Pretty strictly enforced NO 😳 Still great time.

I had the soup and salad. My husband thinks I am a French Onion Soup snob and he maybe right but Houlihans has the best French Onion Soup. The broth has a really good flavor, onions are cooked and they top it with lots melted cheese. I get the house salad with garlic ranch dressing. The server said is was creamy ranch which did not taste the same. I am sad they no longer carry the garlic ranch because it was excellent. My husband ordered the scallops and they were perfectly cooked as always. He also really likes the asparagus risotto that comes with it.
Our waiter, Sam did an excellent job. We sat on the patio and had a delicious meal with great service.
We’ve enjoyed Houlahan’s for many years, and as always, the food and servers were great. However, on this occasion, we were very disappointed about the restaurant’s failure to honor our reservation, and then, failing to apologize or take any steps to correct their error. Earlier in the day, my wife and I decided to try dining out, provided we could make a reservation for outside. (I also asked for a table partly in the shade, since as a cancer survivor, I need to avoid too much sun. We knew this restaurant had outdoor seating that would be just right.)
We are very thankful to Open Table for creating tools to reserve a table outside. Both my wife and I are at very high health risk, and with the pandemic continuing, we are not yet ready to dine inside at a restaurant. So, earlier in the day, I made a reservation for an early dinner outdoors at Houlahan’s. I believe it was for 4:30p, knowing that seating and physical distancing would be easier when there were fewer people. Our reservation was confirmed, specifically for the time and outdoor seating that we had requested.
We arrived at the restaurant on time, only to be told by the hostess that despite our confirmed reservation, the restaurant was no longer accepting reservations for outdoor tables. She said we’d simply have to wait, as if we had no reservation. Despite several requests, they would not honor the reservation. They even agreed that we had actually reserved an outside table via Open Table, and they were aware that Open Table was providing their guests with confirmed reservations for outdoor tables. The hostess said that the manager had tried without success to eliminate the outdoor option for their restaurant from your website.
They twice told us our wait would likely be no more than 30 minutes from the time of our reservation. The wait turned out to be 50 minutes. We were quite unhappy, and we said so. We received no apology and barely an acknowledgment. Thank you.
Food was wonderful!
We were lucky to get an outside table and were seated right away. Our server offered drinks, took that order and gave us time to look at the menu. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and thought the prices were good too. Houlihan’s has been a great addition to the Kingsdale neighborhood.

We ate outside on the patio. Had the meatloaf in the 19.99 three course meal. The scallops portion seemed a little smaller than usual, but still my favorite.
This was the 2nd time in a row we had problems with our order. The 1st time on Aug 5th, it was our anniversary celebration and for some reason our order was not put into the kitchen causing a long wait for food. The 2nd time on Aug 17th my salmon was raw 1 bite into it and had to be taken away and cooked again. The manager comped us chips and salsa the 1st time and a dessert the 2nd (without us asking). While that was very kind we would have rather had our food prepared/served correctly. I had surgery in late July and sitting up straight for extended periods of time is very uncomfortable. I understand covid has made things hard on restaurants so try to be understanding, but 2 times in a row has affected how we feel about choosing this restaurant.

Love Houlihans, food is always great. However, noticed on this visit that the cleanliness was lacking. Could see a layer of dust separating our booth from the next. Appeared as if some of the pictures on the wall were losing the frame.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed the environment. Our server was attentive and friendly. Husband got steak, I got salmon, both were delicious!
Our server was not very good. I was waiting for someone and he kept asking me if I wanted to order, even after I told him I was waiting. Once we got stuff, he didn’t check on us. He never asked if we wanted a second drink.
I had made a reservation and asked for the patio and was disappointed a table was not reserved for us. There were tables inside reserved for people so one should be reserved outside.
The food, however, was delicious.
I will still return.

I live nearby and have been getting carryout meals during quarantine. I’m a member of Houlihan’s loyalty club, and the deals are good.
This time, I needed to meet a friend for lunch, and we ate outside on the large terrace. The staff did everything right for anti-virus protection: masks, hand-sanitizer for everyone, very distant spacing for each group, disposable paper menus, etc.
The salads were excellent. My tomato soup was okay but too acidic for my tastes. Service excellent. Overall a lovely lunch outdoors.

This is the first time my husband and I have been to Houlihan's since it reopened! We have been staying close to home the last several months so this was an adventure! We were delighted with the way it was set up. It was very comfortable and nice! Our Server, Amanda, was just wonderful, and the food was great! We had ordered pick up from Houlihan's several times and really enjoyed that!! Of course, we'll be back!
General, very good. I had the chicken wrap. It tasted like chicken chunks added to your salad and wrapped up. I would not get it again. My husband had pot roast and said it was great!
The staff did a great job with social distancing although there needs to be attention paid to the entrance door. too many congregated there waiting to be seated, not 6 feet apart.
