Hotel Revival-Topside Restaurant
Overall, the Topside is a great place to meet with friends and a relaxed meal. The big draw to this venue is THE VIEW !!!!!!!!! Wonderful uninterrupted views of the cityscape and being "eye-to-eye" with General Washington does not hurt either...;)
The menu is varied enough to satisfy all and the cocktail menu is satisfying.
Have had several meals here including one dinner, which, I must admit, was wonderful (full fried Red Snapper on the bone).
Would recommend without hesitance.
The food, view and service were top notch but the noise was a little on the high side. Over all excellent!
We had a great dinner experience at Topside! We were seated and waited on almost immediately. The food came out quickly as well. We had a long wait for our check (and they were not busy at all), but that was the only glitch. Looking forward to going back again!
Brunch - ambience is nice. Food/Food Options not great.
Went for brunch with family and friends and all of the food was delicious! Everyone loved everything ordered. The views of the city are great and the space is very fun and modern. The noise level was at times quite loud.
Great view of the city! Love the mocktail menu and simple food menu.
Food good, service excellent and has a lot of potential for the facility. Offers valet parking but you MUST go into the hotel to get the valet!
Most beautiful view in the city for dinner. Cannot wait for summer when the lounge to have a drink and relax with friends will be open.
The view and atmosphere is the best part! The drinks took a long time, and the food was just pretty good, but we loved our waitress.
A beautiful view, good food, and friendly employees are all pluses for Topside. The noise level and high prices for a bar like atmosphere are the drawbacks. We went early this time to avoid the headache inducing noise level- no luck. There was a large celebration- which is wonderful! The acoustics are not wonderful - the sound seems to be amplified by the design of the restaurant. A hamburger, oysters, a salad and two glasses of wine cost us $70 before tip.
The best aspect of Topside is that it has a fabulous view of Baltimore. The service was a bit slow, but I suspect this was because there were not enough servers. The food we had was very tasty, but heavy — we suspect there was generous use of butter. The general vibe was relaxed and casual and it was not excessively noisy.
My wife and i came . it was a wonderful experience overall however the portions need to be reconsidered. Otherwise the flavor was great , timing was remarkable and service was pleasant.
Food was amazing and the service was even better. We also got great views of the city from all sides of where we were seated.
The view is always amazing, service was great, music selection was quite impressive, food was good with a few minor seasoning tweaks 😜
Amazing views and fun food. Great cocktails. I look forward to going back!
My family and I went here to celebrate my aunt's birthday, and we had a great time. The food was great, but the ambiance alone is enough to draw you in there. The view is awesome, especially at night. You get to see different parts of the Baltimore skyline depending on where you sit. I understand they change the menu up too and that is enough to keep me curious. I just hope they never remove the kale apple and fennel salad. That was delicious! #HappyDining
Love the vibe and ambiance of this restaurant but the food was not good. A few of our dishes came out cold and overall everything was bland. This is the second time we’ve been and the food was just ok. Love the place so I hope they can fix the food. Some updates to the menu would also be welcome or some weekend specials!
Got there right before sunset - was a gorgeous to see city skyline and Mt Vernon’s Washington Mnt - POTUS1 - fun drink menu and small plate options too!
Great for pre or post dinner drinks. View is fantastic! The Brussels sprout appetizer was exceptional however the mussel/clam pot was under cooked and the fish and chips was under seasoned.
Beautiful, beautiful space with amazing views. Food was wonderful and very pretty when dishes arrived at table.
Only bad part was our server, who apparently forgot about us, but managed to have a cup of coffee while chatting with other waitstaff in full view. Hmmm. So coffee wasn't replenished, requested hot sauce was forgotten and when I asked for the dessert menu, was given the cocktail menu instead.
Would try this restaurant again but only if we had a different server.
Food was good but server was inattentive and seemed as if they were making up rules about their brunch deals and offers that contradicted the printed menu. Disappointed and don’t plan to return for brunch service.
Beautiful ambience and fantastic food! Perfect for us before heading to a performance at Baltimore Concert Opera across the street!
This restaurant is perfect for bottomless brunch with a view. The ambiance is very nice and perfect for date night, groups or dinner with girlfriends. Our waitress was not the most attentive, however, and we had to flag down other service staff to get refills of our mimosas.
There was a wedding taking place in the restaurant when we ate at the Topside. No one called to let us know that. It was so loud we had to shout at each other. The French fries were undercooked/raw. We waited 45 min for the valet service bring our car back. The view was gorgeous, but not worth it.
A wedding was going on and it was just a bit chaotic. The top floor view is amazing but it’s a very loud spot. I would say the noise level is the biggest downside. Still worth it but would not recommend as a place to get to know someone or catch up.
Great encounter. Solid food, incredible customer service. I would have wished quicker unlimited mimosa refills however.
Beautiful view of the city with nice ambience. The place was a bit noisy. The service was good and the place was not too crowded. We were a party of 8 and were well accommodated. The mini crab cakes and Brussel sprouts were excellent starters. Short ribs, scallops risotto and duck breast were fantastic. The catfish was ok. The pimlico pie was a bit disappointing. The food was quite good overall and the experience was nice. Will come again for sure.
Delicious food, amazing service, wonderful view.
The place was beautiful but the staff was a bit pushy to get us out when they turned the lights on, even though there at least 30 other people still there enjoying the space and finishing their drinks in peace. It was awkward.
This was so much fun! It was the perfect New Years. The tiki bartender is the best bartender in the city. You heard it here first.
We’ve been going quite a few times and were always happy with our food, but last night’s dinner was just okay, especially the desserts, we ordered all three but all were just okay and too sweet.
Although the restaurant was still open at lunchtime, didn’t look like they were prepared for guests. No bartender on hand. Manager was kind enough to jump in and help out, but still… Food was just mediocre. Really nice ambience and an amazing view. Guess you have to take the good with the bad.
Great meal, great service, awesome view.
Very disappointing desserts.
Fine food with a great view and good service. A special place for brunch and a birthday celebration.
Went for brunch. I didn’t care for my food (eggs over pork in a spicy red sauce with home made Fritos) It was too much. After a few bites, I was “over it”. Too spicy and too much vinegar. It over powered the dish and the scrambled eggs were one over cooked piece. The drinks were strong and the bright open space is gorgeous. The server just brought us the check instead of asking us if we wanted anything else. I always find that an invitation to leave. All that said, I’d give it another try.
The noise level was beyond energetic for dining. The windows are lovely, and the design is nice as well but sound has no where to go but back and forth around the space. It is an appropriate place for drinks but the chef's delicious meal was lost to the chaos of the space.
I would go back for cocktails but not to dine. All courses did not come out together for out table, and my entree came out out extremely under cooked (practically raw pork) not once but twice. I was not interested in a third attempt nor did I want to hold up my friends any further. I will say the server was friendly and went out of his way to rectify the situation. My issue is SOLELY with the kitchen!
Absolute worst experience ever. I was harassed by staff and made very uncomfortable and felt extremely unsafe. The food was also sub par.
The restaurant had a nice and fun ambience. Food was good and the service was great. I will definitely come again!
Hi Tyler, Thanks for the amazing review.
We went to Revival on Thanksgiving when they served a set menu with two choices for appetizer, main, and dessert as well as a choice of 2 side dishes for the table. My traditional roast turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans and stuffing was delicious. In fact, everything from soup to dessert was great and portions were so large we were able to have leftovers the next day. Look forward to trying out their regular menu some day.
We are so glad you had a great time! Happy holidays.
