Hotel del Coranado was a treat! Really enjoyed!!!
a whole bunch of very mediocre food for a TON of money
Food was amazing and the crown room itself is spectacular.
This was by far my favorite brunch I have ever had. The value is well worth the amount of food alone. Topping it off with your drinks being included. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The food was amazing with so many choices to choose from. We will be back.
We had a wonderful time. Our server, Pedro, is to be commended.
It was lovely and in fact spectacular however I do think the cost is a bit too much. $50 per person would have been fine so we are so glad that we went once but I don't think we would do it again at the price that they are asking.
Definitely worth experiencing. Food was very good and a nice variety. our waitress was very attentive and kind. Ambience is nice, price however could come down a little. Otherwise I would do it again. :-)
World class...every time
It was a nice to see the fine hotel and brunch was very nice . The variety of food was excellent .
However, after paying 98.00 per person for brunch, plus tax and tip, it was outrageous to be charged for parking.
this was our second time at the Del for brunch, we really enjoy it,
the food, the service and the crown room are first class
it is the best brunch we have ever had.
we will come back for sure
Highly overrated for the price
The crown room should be on everyone's bucket list. Particularly impressive are the jumbo shrimp and raw oyster bar. It is so difficult to save room for dessert, but oh my so fabulous!
Crown room brunch is a must experience. The food is good, although maybe not as good as the price of the meal implies. But the beautiful room, with wood beams and trim that you don't find in many places, the elegant service and food presentation make the whole experience very special. The parking is a bit of a scramble, but the hotel is so nice.
Wish the crepes were made fresh. Everything else was over the top!!
Fabulous breakfast! So beautiful!
The service was outstanding but the food was a little underwhelming, aside from the desserts. The selection was extensive, but for the price, I expected the food preparation to be exceptional.
WAY too expensive for the food selection. Very disappointed e
Fabulous family brunch!
Food was delicious and the service was phenomenal.
Very expensive, but for special occasions, it is a great, friendly environment with excellent food.
Beware of the valet service. Tipped the valet $10 to keep my close because I was traveling with a small child, he didn’t mention the valet cost $20 per hour and also took 20 minutes to retrieve my car. We spent $1400 on brunch. Left a great brunch feeling nickel and dimed by the horrendous valet service.
This is a big brunch in a big room. It is a large, historical room in a hotel that is itself both a historic venue and a piece of architecture worth a visit on its own. It is not inexpensive. Considering how busy it is, it is an amazingly calm and well-organized buffet. Thanks to the high ceiling and traditional decoration, it is not too noisy to carry on a conversation. There are many family groups, many stuffy old diners, many young people between visits to the beach, and a general feeling of joy. But what matters most is the food. I took two young men with ample appetites, and their reaction to the choice of King Crab Legs, raw oysters, shrimp, prime rib, waffles, pancakes, tamales, and desserts of every kind was second only to their satisfaction on finishing what they had put on their heaped plates. Great fun!
At least once you need to try this high end brunch. Exquisite food, excellent service in a historic grandiose place.
The food was absolutely fantastic! It was packed, so the service was a little slower. Not a big deal you don’t need much help at a buffet, it was just a matter of getting the dirty dishes off the table. Overall, I highly recommend this experience at least once while you were in San Diego!
Great place. Amazing venue. Food was very good but not $100 a person good. Maybe $65 or $70 per person. Service was impeccable. Watch out for the parking price tag. $50 without you buffet receipt. Anywho will go again as friends love to get together there.
Great food and atmosphere. Worth every dollar. You must try it at least once in your life. No other brunch can compare.
Great food and service! Great for a special occasion with your family & friends!
The room is opulent and the service is good, but that is where the compliments stop. The food was mediocre and the staff kept it tepid instead of warm. Anyone like room temperature pancakes and scrambled eggs? The cold sea food was not cleaned properly and the fondue station was nothing more than boozed up velvetta cheese. For 98 dollars per person, this was a rip off. I did this once, but I will NEVER do it again.
Our waiter, Mark, was so awesome. Great recommendations and stories.
It's cost prohibitive for many but the food was fantastic.
There were four of us and we all thought it was outstanding.
This is a San Diego experience. The 'del' is iconic and a must-see for anyone visiting San Diego. That being said, it would help if you were a wealthier visitor. I would value this brunch at $50 each, but the cost is $98. The mimosas flowed freely as do the bloody mary's. But at brunch time, even a few of those can be a little much. I have only good things to say about the food, although, for the money, a few more 'exotic' items would be appreciated. Instead of New York roast, why not a tenderloin of beef? Lamb was good, but another meat selection would have been nice. Maybe duck, ham or ??? The crab legs and shrimp were top-notch. The omelet bar was well stocked, and the waffles and crepes were very good, especially with the very fresh raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. The desserts were okay, but once again, at this price, I would have expected something like a crepe station with a selection of fruit toppings. Maybe a fresh cobbler or pies. Our service was so-so. We often had to ask twice for coffee. Where the food was being served the service was excellent. In our section the waitstaff seemed to being enjoying each other's company a little more than I would expect.
Overall, this was a wonderful experience. I outlined a few issues as well as the high cost. But sometimes things in life that enhance our existence are worth the price of admission.
Amazing selection of foods in a gorgeous setting. However, WAY too expensive and quite over the top. Nice to do once.
Great place for a special occasion. The brunch buffet is extensive and terrific! (Only exception, the bloody mary was awful. I switched it for a mimosa and was happy.) The server was sporadically inattentive. The room is BEAUTIFUL.
The two female waitstaff in side room were welcoming, efficient and friendly. Next to the brisket they were the best part of my experience.
Best buffet we’ve ever had . It had it all with great quality and fine service !
Wonderful experience. Great food and drink. Staff was very friendly and professional. Loved the whole experience.
This is the second time at the Hotel Del Brunch. This has been a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, this time, the service was a little slow and I did not get the window seat, as requested.....but it did not ruin the experience. The food and the venue are incredible. Highly recommend for any special occasion.
We had a wonderful time and all the food was fantastic as well as the service. We will try to do it again if we come back.
The food was diverse and plentiful, but not outstanding. The service was excellent. What you get for the price is not worth it. We did enjoy seeing the historic hotel. I wish we had chosen to eat at the beachfront restaurant instead.
