Hot Tin Roof
It's a mélange of tastes and fragrances, combining traditional Florida foods with Latin, Caribbean and tropical influences. It's funky, fun, and fresh with a broad range of tastes and sensations. The restaurant features a relaxed elegance with dramatic water and sunset views.
ATTENTION: Please advise that outside seating is limited and typically in high demand. Any request for outside seating cannot be considered a guarantee. We will do our best to honor requests while taking into account when the reservation was made and what is available at the time.
We always dine at Hot Tin Roof when we visit Key West. The atmosphere, the staff, the presentation and the flavors are all exceptional! A must dine at place for us!
From start to finish absolutely everything was amazing. I ordered the Lobster and my husband ordered the scallops... both were delicious but his scallops took the cake! If we ever make it back, we won’t miss an opportunity to dine here again!
Excellent food. Creative, fresh- loved the tuna poke especially. Evening would have been 5 stars except for challenging, noisy location above a music venue on the pier.
Super excellent sunset dinner. Great service and the food was outstanding.
Great service, good ambiance, very good food. Slightly over priced even for Key West. Best bus person in the city
Brunch was a great experience. All you can eat small plates. Service was above average.
Outstanding brunch! Food was excellent and so was the service.
We had a little trouble finding the restaurant, When I called for directions the lady who answered didn’t provide clear instructions on where they were located. The location is right on the water and they seated us on the outside patio which was beautiful.
We shared the tomato and burrata salad which was outstanding.
We also shred the paella which was the right size for two, it had big pieces of local pink shrimp, mussels, clams and a mixed sized lobster tail.
All in all a great dinner and atsmophere.
They acknowledged my wife’s birthday but no special touches were provided
Nice interior BUT Athens live band downstairs was absolutely too loud for such a nice restaurant!!!!!!
Also our waiter, while efficient, was way too rushed!!!
Very good food. We had a good experience! Thank You!
Sunset view was impeccable. Absolutely recommend. Oleg was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you!
Great food, good variety - amazing service. It was cool, so we ate inside, but still had great views of sunset. We shared small plates and loved every one. The key lime pie was much better than others we tried on the Key West. It had a great consistency - almost like cheesecake. Great location - right off Mallory Square, live music outside but inside was quiet.
Great experience, sat outside which was covered by plastic tarps which really helped cut the wind coming off the water. Food was quick, delicious, and as advertised. Drink selection was good as well, overall a great dinner.
Have bee here many times and will be back. Food excellent and service is always very good.
Perfect view at Sunset!! Wonderful food!
Very nice restaurant. Waiters seemed too busy to interact with clients. Felt we were rushed out of the restaurant. Food was good but views were better.
Loved the atmosphere. There was a band playing so we got to sit on the deck and listen. The food was good. We did more of a tapas style with small plates. Lobster Mac was my favorite. My only complaint was it’s a little pricy. For 2 adults 1 child it was like 150 without tipping
Hot Tin Roof has become our special treat since moving to Key West almost 6 years ago. The food, the staff and the atmosphere are top notch! Great place to spend a Sunday Afternoon! Thank you Abby and Peter! See you soon!
Great Sunday brunch. Good food and good service. Sit outside if weather is nice. Ambiance inside is not that great.
I cannot say enough great things about my experience. It was a chilly night but we sat outside and it was worth it. The waitress and chef were amazing with being creative to accommodate my dietary restrictions which resulted in amazing food without me feeling like I was missing out. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Too loud wait staff abrupt
The NY Strip is unbelievable, WOW!
The chowder and raw oysters were great also. I will definitely be back.
Underwhelmed... the reservation request was for an outdoor table but when we arrived, we were told the outside area was booked for a private party... we sat inside and missed the view. The shrimp and scallop risotto was not good - the risotto tasted dry and leftover and especially after looking at pictures from other reviewers, I’m quite sure mine was a leftover or old batch. The shrimp were extremely plain and bland and the scallops were a bit over cooked - could have overlooked however not one thing was good on this plate. The waiter didn’t connect with us and we watched other tables get much more attentive and efficient service, and people who came after us left before us... not impressed with this place. My $250 tab could have been spent on a much better restaurant.
Went for NYE. Made the reservation about a month before as all reviews looked good. Get a phone call from the restaurant 2 days before to let us know that it was a special menu for NYE and the price was $110.00 per person. Strike one.. Crazy price and too late for us to find another option. We get there and all is fine, room is about 75-80% full. Picked our wine and meal choices and boom. Appies, wine and salad out in a flash. We were seated only for about 10-15 minutes. I made it clear we weren’t interested in being done in 30 m and to slow down. Next plate comes, warm, not cold enough to send back, but not right for this level of restaurant. We tell the waiter. Main course comes, both cold. Back they go. My wife’s get the reheat job and gets boot tough lobster, mine was likely the same but I had a braised short rib and it wasn’t affected. The whole place had a rush about to it. A meal would come out and 2-3 servers are bring it out as a group. We actually laughed that it reminded us of the hot chocolate scene in Polar Express. Total bill $385.00 plus tip, but they did give us $30.00 off because of the cold meals. Never saw a manager.
We’ve been in Key West for 5 nights prior and there are so many great restaurants , this just isn’t one of them. The food taste was good, but everything else needs attention.
Dined there on New Years Eve, food was good, service was inconsistent. They worked in teams, but there was not much communication amongst them. Everything seemed a bit rushed, as it generally does with pre-fixe. For the price ($110 pp), you should not feel rushed and the service should be perfect. That being said, the food was good and the ambience lovely.
Very last minute reservation on New Year’s Eve (my birthday) while staying in Key West. Saw a beautiful sunset and enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Thanks so much!
Food was the New Year’s Eve pre fixe $110
Food went from great to diner quality to just okay
Good crab! Good oysters.
Diner quality lobster, primarily because of the stuff it was on top of:
Succotash was frozen
Potatoes were not cooked thoroughly
Lobster was good
The Cuban coffee creme brûlée did not seem Cuban - so it was just an okay flavored creme brûlée
Food was excellent, ambiance was nice. It got load due to a loud mouth restaurant guest. The restaurant itself was nice and quiet. We had a great time.
the view spectacular the food amazing--would go back here and not hesitate to recommend
Great brunch & attitude of all the folks. Created a personal menu just for us an our anniversary.
Spoiled us for any other Key West brunch
Great place as usual. Loud on the porch while the band was playing but they finished at 7 so great after that.
We had a very good time. The food was fabulous. Janet our hostess seated us promptly and went out of her way to seat us in a very nice spot for out anniversary dinner. Andrea was our server and was spot on in serving us. Don’t leave without having the key lime pie for dessert. Pure heaven.
Wonderful ambience, view and food. Our group loved it-who wouldn't!? Highky recommend.
My husband and I dined here on Christmas. We arrived to learn there was a set menu which no one mentioned, even after speaking on the phone with two different people about our reservation. The food was okay but definitely not worth the price. We weren’t looking for a four course meal and I (a pescatarian) was disappointed to be served a seafood risotto with ham in it (again no mention on menu or by server that it contained meat. Overall, everything was okay but again, not worth the price and not what we were looking for at all.
Great Christmas 4 course meal with vegan options for my daughters!
Lovely place for a special occasion
This was our 2nd Christmas dining at Hot Tin Roof (2017, 2018). The ambiance is beautiful for a holiday spent in Key West; food is wonderful and the presentation is beautiful. Service is strong, too. We will see you again next year!
The dinner was cool when served. They offered to heat it but that ruins roast beef I think. It had a great flavor just not warm.
