We love Hops & Fire and we wish we were closer to it! We travel from the west side because we have several gluten-free people in the family, and this is an easy and popular choice with everyone! It can be a little noisy, but overall, we are always pleased with the food and the service.
The food was good and I thought prices reasonable. They have a nice selection of beers. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The outside didn't look like much but the inside was clean and inviting. We all opted for burgers which were very good. I liked you could substitute fries for a small salad without extra charges. I would recommend this restaurant.
Prime rib was fantastic, salmon Caesar salad too! Bar staff was great!
Food was very good but the service was very slow and not crowded. Not sure why everything took so long to get to our table. Had to go get someone for refills.
Food was great but service was not- seemed a little disorganized.
Bummed to see no more skirt steak!
I made my reservation a month in advance due to their multiple vegan/vegetarian along with homnivore options. They confirmed with me four to five different times via phone, text, and email (I felt that was pretty accessive but they needed to be prepared right?). I did have a big party during a busy part of the day however this reservation was made a month in advance I feel as if the restaurant could have prepared for the large group. When I got there I was extremely dissapointed to see their "full vegan/vegetarian menu" was cut in half for lunch however I tried to keep a positive mind set as this is common practice for restaurants. Our waiter was overall pretty rude and after about 20 minutes non-existent. A new person began filling our drinks and she was nice and around unlike our waiter. Our food came out pretty fast but not one meal was right. The pulled pork was ice cold, people didn't get fries, and the overall taste was dissapointing. The managers response to this was "we are human we make mistakes, you're a big party to serve, and I put cold Cole slaw on 'somewhat warm" pork that's why it feels cold"....
Good food and service. Portions were large and priced right.
I was not impressed with this restaurant. It was noisy, the food quality was less than advertised and the overall value was disappointing. Personally not a venue in which I will return. It may appeal to some; my preferences are admittedly somewhat discriminating. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet my expectations, which frankly may have been too lofty. Perhaps it simply wasn’t a good fit.
I've been to Hops & Fire numerous times. This visit was not the norm. Our Server was MIA most of the night, had to ask for water several times, our checks were mixed up (it was only a party of 4 -2 couples), 1 person's food didn't come out with the other meals, we waited and waited. By the time she received her food, we had nearly finished our meal. Then, when I realized the checks were wrong, I had to go find the server, who was at the bar eating!
The food was delicious, always is. Typically, service is great.
This was our 3rd visit and we were again pleased. We are excited to return to try out the new menu!
Thanks for the full vegan menu for my daughter. Excellent choices. Great beers on tap.
Food was awesome, restaurant was a little dirty. Server was very friendly but did no pre-bus. Our dinner was brought to the table and set next to all our dirty dishes and had to wait for refills.
My first time there but my girlfriend had been before. We decided it's our go to place for dates. Great service and an amazing menu.
Great place to go out with a group of friends! Lots of food options. We really enjoyed it!
Waiter was really nice. I loved the homemade ranch dressing. The cherry smoked chicken wings (which had been really talked up by a friend) were dry and flavorless... chicken jerky. Sauces were good. My kids refused to eat the wings and we had ordered 18! Loved the salad and the broccolini. Squash and zucchini were good. Husband liked his burger. I didn’t like the chicken with peppadew sauce. My friend’s Alfredo chicken pasta was boring. It just seemed like everything was Lacking seasoning. I’d try it again one day, but it was fairly expensive to just be mediocre. I really enjoyed the ambiance.
Used to love this place, but it’s really gone downhill.
There were lots of things on the menu were unavailable as they were transitioning to a new menu.
Very noisy!! Didn't know they had live music . It was soooo loud you had to yell across the table and couldn't hear what the wait staff was saying.
On a VERY POSITIVE NOTE, they have VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE menus!! The selections were good! These are in addition to their regular menu which had very diverse offerings. All very good!!
I will go back on a night where there is no live music. But I'm sure that's a draw for some who want to hang out and enjoy!
First time here, we mad reservations online. When we arrived there was a long wait, but since we had a reservation they seated us right away! We had the prime rib and it was delicious!! After dinner we went to the bar and listened to some awesome live music and had drinks. The bar staff was VERY friendly.
We will Definitely be back!!
Food is average. Service was below average. I know they make 'craft' soft drinks, but paying $4 for a kids drink is stupid.
Late valentines date with my wife. Pleasant surprise when we tried this hidden gem. Would recommend to anyone for the food, drinks and atmosphere. Will return soon.
Amazing food and the live music was excellent also!
I love Hops and Fire! Very glad they decided to land on SR135 in Greenwood! Every item we've ordered has a unique flare and taste. Totally recommend to friends and family!
We had a party of 10 which can sometimes be a challenge , depending on the restaurant. Our server was amazing. I wish I could remember her name because she deserves public applause. Food was just as we ordered it, even with the quirky requests and some vegetarian, some vegan and some neither among us. Drinks were always full and the experience was really great. We have been here before and always had good experiences. This one was top rated as well! Great food, drinks and service!
food is fantastic and TONS of options for those with food allergies. this particular evening our waiter was absent almost the whole night, usually service is much better.
Great food. Great service. Love the pickles & jalapenos!!
Great food with many choices. My daughter appreciated the vegetarian menu. I appreciated the many micro brew drafts available. Decent service but was surprised by the tipping guide on the check which recommended 20-25% based on the after tax total.
Our fist experience was poor. It’s not where I would choose to spend our hard earned money. Food quality was poor, under cooked, and lackluster. We waited 20 mins after our reservation. Not impressed.
We always enjoy our date nights here!!
Great food, friendly staff. Would definitely go again!!!
Could have been better. We were forgotten while waiting for our table despite having checked in. Wanted to sit near a TV but was sat as far away as possible. Took a long time to be waited on. Forgot my drink. My food came out 10-15 minutes before my husbands so we shared until his came. Took a long time to pay. Bill was comped one drink because of all of the problems or for the wait - not sure which. Servers were really hustling - not sure what was going on to make it so disorganized. The French onion soup was good but the rest was just okay.
Good menu with lots of variety. Service was good. Would recommend.
We enjoy Hops & Fire very much. And Open Table makes getting our evening arranged easy. It was a fun night out!
It was our first time here. We chose it for our anniversary date. Food, location, look, and feel was awesome!
As always, service was great. Food was great. We will go back again and again.
Had reservations with friends for New Years Eve. Seated quickly. Ate from New Years Eve buffet. Shrimp, salad and vegetables were good. Au gratin potatoes were crunchy and first piece of roast beef I had was from the end and could not cut even one piece from it, all gristle. The second was from end also and was able to cut only 3 pieces from it so disappointed with the beef. Looked good more into the beef but not sure young person cutting it knew by looking at the ends, they were not servable. I've been to H&F several times and always had great meals and really enjoy the summertime patio entertainment and will certainly go back again but was embarrassed taking 2 friends there who had not been before and they weren't real thrilled with the buffet.
Went on NYE, and the prime rib buffet was excellent. All the food was great and the staff was sure to keep the food fresh. I was not impressed with the waitress. There were several times we were waiting on her. Also, I thought the drinks were over priced. It irritates me to pay $9 for a drink that is made with super simple ingredients and disappears in 3-4 drinks. Drinks were tasty, but over priced.
The food was pretty good, but the restaurant was so cold that it was hard to enjoy. Every time the front door opened, a blast of cold air shot through the dining area.
Great local favorite. They know food, they know people’s tastes. You won’t be disappointed.
