About this restaurant

Hopkins Inn is a boutique hotel and restaurant located on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful Lake Waramaug. This scenic restaurant welcomes guests year round to stay in one of the six quaint hotel rooms on site. The restaurant on site is available to hotel guests and the general public alike, so anyone can enjoy the Austrian cuisine, a homage to owner Franz Schober's heritage. Hopkins Inn has separate breakfast, lunch and dinner menus depending on the time of day. Breakfast is done buffet-style with lots of eggs, potatoes and various baked good available. The lunch menu tends to be similar to the dinner menu just with smaller portions and more sandwiches while the dinner menu is a robust collection of Eastern European fare. The signature dish is the weiner schnitzel, a scallop of veal that's lightly breaded and sauteed in a house made sauce.
