My wife hadn't been out in Lahaina before and I was excited to find a spot at Honu for us and our four kids. I had eaten elsewhere right on the water in the area, but had no idea how much Honu was going to far exceed our expectations. The view was incredible, with open-air seating about as close to the waves as you can get, great ambience, and perfect service. Everything was about as good as you can get. Every meal we had, from the appetizers to each of our entrees, was the best we've ever had. It goes for all six of us. The scallops were phenomenal, the crab mac and cheese was a big hit, the fish and chips were fantastic, and the special fish dish was incredible. Even the pizza was a hit! I had no business ordering dessert, but I couldn't help myself, and I didn't regret it. The coconut banana cream pie was to die for. Has to be one of the best desserts I've ever had. My kids had the chocolate mousse, and their reaction was the same. The whole family felt it was a very special night and one we'll remember for a very long time to come.

I always get the kale salad and it was excellent. The food is consistently good there. My favorite restaurant on the West side of Maui.
