My husband and I make this our stop at least once every couple of weeks. I have loved every dish, especially the beetloaf! The kitchen is great for accommodating my gluten allergy and the specialty cocktails are lots of fun. If you enjoy traditional country cooking, you'll love the elevated dishes at Honeywood.
Everything about Honeywood was fabulous! Definitely will go back.
Will definitely go back to try more on the menu- everything was excellent!
We’ve been here a few times and found it to be mediocre. This visit will likely be our last. Food was extremely underwhelming, in both taste, presentation, and quality. We found it to be Way overpriced for what we received. The service was extremely slow and disappointing. To the server’s credit, he recognized we waited for a our food for a really long time and didn’t charge us for the appetizer. I appreciated the gesture, and can give grace for being understaffed during this difficult season for restaurants. But since we’ve never been especially thrilled with the place, and given the disappointing food and inflated prices, I don’t anticipate a return any time soon.
The experience at the Honeywood was such that I would again travel from Cincinnati to Lexington to dine there. We had reservations (which I deeply appreciate the restaurant taking) and were seated immediately. Our service was prompt, the prices were fair, and my poached salmon salad was delicious. My companions were all pleased with their food. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Salmon was great with asparagus. Hubby had Chicken and dumplings and said the chicken was dry. Another guest had pork belly and he was happy...looked heavy though
My friend got the salmon dish and it was an underwhelming amount of food for the price. Our waiter seemed extremely disinterested in us to the point where we had to speak up for corrections on our meal, and also our bill. I waited for 15 minutes for the correct dressing to be brought out. Overall, not impressed with the service from anyone. The food was delightful, but serving size compared to higher priced dishes could improve.
Great food, great atmosphere, great time!!
The food was a little off this time—-overly salted and overcooked vegetables. The service was good but seemed a little inexperienced.
Excellent trout cooked perfectly over a dirty rice with an authentic stock. Shrimp & grits good. Nice cocktails. Nice staff. Only minor point was that are entrees arrived before appetizers were finished.
Same old menu and never anything exciting. Service was absolutely awful. Last time!
Excellent experience. First time dining at Honeywood since before the pandemic. It was delicious. Will visit again very soon.
Love the pork rinds! Enjoyed our dinner with one drawback...the finish on their tables is melting off on to anything that touches the table including your clothes. The tables are very sticky but the food was very good.
Everything is outstanding! Incredible catfish filets.
I ORDERED VERY SIMPLE FARE - SOUP BEANS, GREENS, CHEESE GRITS -- BUT SOMEHOW THEY MADE IT TASTE A GOURMET MEAL. I SAVORED EVERY BITE.
On a fairly busy Saturday night service was super friendly and efficient. Food was superb — the seasonal and local vegetable sides specials are not be be missed.
Two out of four meals were disgusting. Bill was at $100 and was not worth it. Hostess was flustered because so many patrons were coming in, had a reservation and was still seated on a first come basis. Overall very disappointed in this restaurant. Not at all in line with the sister establishments.
We were greeted warmly and waited on in a timely fashion.
Wait staff was knowledgeable about the food and made good recommendations- we loved every bite!
We were first seated at a table that seemed a bit cold so we asked if we could be seated elsewhere- they were happy to accommodate and we were comfortable and enjoyed our meal!
All good as usual .
I love the place but food tastes n temp not up to prior levels,
And they lock door at 9 n could not get my mask.
There was four of us for a lady's night out. The hostess promptly seated us, even though we were early for our reservation. We sampled the warm olives, fried oysters and beignets. All good, but the fried oysters were our favorite. For entrees we had shrimp and grits, the trout and quail. Everyone was pleased with their dish. It was a special birthday night for my 79 year old mother, so we had the wonderful peanut butter pie for dessert. BTW Chef Ouita, herself, was in the house for her cookbook signing. Lovely dinner.
Our service was very poor and our server acted as if she didn't want to wait on us.
The service was outstanding. Our server Mo was kind, courteous and informative. The food was delicious however don't go hungry. Really small portion sizes. And DEFINITELY order an appetizer because it took 35 minutes for our food to arrive.
Very slow food preparation
They served a lovely birthday gelato! The place is beautiful inside too!
Our brother was visiting from out of town. The food was delicious, with unusual offerings of quail and trout.
Waitress was very friendly and competent. The food came at a relaxed and good pace, just as we asked. Will go again.
Our orders included trout and shrimp and grits, both excellent in their taste and preparation.
It was so good to dine indoors again at Honeywood! The updated menu is a good blend of old favorites and new items that sound delish. Our server was attentive, accurate, and super-pleasant!
The atmosphere and food was very good. This is the second time returning, will be back!
On a busy Mother’s Day the service was great. The food was great and I loved the Bellini.
Will be back again.
Great spot for a Mother's Day brunch! Food is amazing.
Mothers Day Brunch.
The brunch options were great! Enjoyed it very much.
Was there for Mother's Day brunch. Would have liked to see more items on the brunch menu. Not a lot of options, especially for our kids (12 & 13 yrs old).
Otherwise, nice atmosphere, friendly staff & servers. Good food & drink.
Took awhile for our service to come to the table but from that point forward the service was excellent
My wife and I liked it. We went there for our anniversary. The food is good. The restaurant is nice. Service was good. Experience was good. No complaints. The AC was to cold but we were sitting right under it so it was blowing down on us. Otherwise would have been great. Bring a jacket in case though.
Food and experience were fantastic.
Based on the chef/owner's reputation, I was hoping for so much more. It was okay but not somewhere to which I would rush back. My main issue was that the shrimp and grits were just so bland (my friend ordered this and felt the same). This is one of my favorite dishes and this version just fell short. My daughter got the trout and thoroughly enjoyed it however. (now Wallace Station and Zim's--definitely (and do!) make repeat visits)
Delicious food and great service. The quail was Devine.
