We've had the brunch in the past and it was very good. Everyone at the table agreed, though, that the food was so-so and the service was pretty bad.
1. Water glasses were dirty and cracked.
2. Silverware was not properly washed.
3. Server had one too many tables to attend. Fix that.
Nice place regardless.
Great menu. Good food. Love the area. Street parking if needed.
Great ambiance for brunch. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere!
I had the breakfast buritto bowl and my guest had the Homestead breakfast. Both were fantastic! Especially potatoes and biscuit! Service was friendly and efficient. Loved the ambiance.would definitely come back for breakfast.
Good food. Average portion sizes. Service was a bit slow because of some very large parties that were seated before us. The waitress was so apologetic even though it wasn’t her fault. Good cocktails and nice atmosphere, though our table had a spotlight on it.
We were underwhelmed with the service and food. This was so disappointing because the menu seemed to have so much potential. It even seemed vegetarian friendly which was a requirement. I had the risotto which had no flavor. I was able to slightly improve it with salt and pepper that I had get myself. ( none on the table and no one around) My wife had the farro salad which looked good on the menu but again, had no flavor. It seemed like it was dressed only in a very neutral oil (grape seed?). Again, S&P saved the day. The ingredients in the salad were actually good but needed a little acid or something to brighten it up. The pork belly appetizer was great. We had ordered a side of roasted vegetables that came out after we had finished eating. This was during happy hour and the bar side of the restaurant was packed. It seems like a place with potential but they need to find some flavor and service for the food side.
Will definitely recommend.
First time with the kids and they loved it! Great service! Good food!
Best biscuits ever! service was quick, staff very friendly and accommodated our request to add extra guest.
Went for brunch and the food was amazing.
It was an interesting experience as i enjoyed my time there with my family.
Cool space, but very disorganized.
Had four people for dinner. Server was a very pleasant person. We ordered quickly & waited for a long time to be served. In fact people seated after us received their entrees before us. When we were served only 3 of the 4 dishes came out. Had to wait again for fourth entree. I was so angry I cannot honestly comment on the taste of the food. When I told the server I just wanted the bill so I could get out of there. She called over a manager. The manager too, was very polite. I told her I thought the restaurant has to review their systems because they really performed poorly that evening
Just stopped in for an early Valentine’s Day dinner. Service was great, ambience is fun, but the food was so so disappointing. Ordered the burrata and beet salad and what came was about 4 bites of cheese and bits with lettuce thrown on top and no mixing of dressing. Taste was meh and presentation and value terrible. Next, I ordered the butternut squash risotto for $17 and again what came was maaaaaybe a cup of food spread out thin to look like more. The worst part was the taste. It had none except strong raw garlic. I love garlic and this was so overpowering. In fact, I found several large chucks of raw garlic in the food. I had 1 of 2 bites and sent it back. Our server was very understanding. However, a general manager came over and was quite short with us. She seemed irritated with us and made us feel like those annoying people who serve food back just to be annoying. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years so it takes a lot for me to complain and I also know what’s fair to expect for a basic level of hospitality and they fell short. Won’t be going back.
Service was a little slow and we found ourselves waiting around when we asked for things like salt or our check, but overall we did enjoy our meal here.
Food took awhile and was no
Great service, food and music. Will be back soon..
Nice place and friendly staff. Food was good and the menu for brunch at least was varied and interesting. Not the same old stuff,
Delicious food, reasonable price, decent service, and great environment.
I live in the neighborhood and am glad this restaurant is there. They do so much for its community as well as socially. Highly recommend.
Just searching Open Table and decided to try restaurant. It turned out to be a neighborhood gem. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
Great food and friendly staff, would absolutely go again!
Great service, great food. Not much to complain here.
Food was good. Server was not. He forgot to input our appetizer, and seemed unconcerned that the food showed up first. He didn’t seem to care, but did sown his mistake. He never returned to check on us, until we were finished with dinner. Asked if we wanted dessert, handed us a bill. No apology. No attempt to make it right.
The food runner was really good. Seemed more attentive and concerned than anyone. Maybe promote him to server.
The food was good. The decor is fantastic.
Server, ambiance, and food were excellent. Will be going again.
Homestead never disappoints. This is my "go to" Monday brunch spot for meetings, with friends or sometimes just to work when I need to get out the house. When I make a reservation, they always know who I am when walking through the door and address me by name when providing service. It's a great touch that impresses clients and friends alike. The food is always amazing and a great value (all entrees under $20). I even get my mimosas with pineapple for no extra charge! A definite plus in my book.
Homestead is one of my favorite restaurants in DC, great food, great atmosphere, and incredibly friendly staff. Wednesday funnights are trivia nights with half price wine as well!
Hostess/Manager was hospitable and accommodating. Great bar area and bar tenders. Reservation was handled perfectly.
Food is great but I did get a call before my reservation that OpenTable had booked me outside which wasn’t open and they wouldn’t have a table available for another 45 minutes. I got there 45 minutes later and they still didn’t have a table available because another party wasn’t leaving. It’s not really their fault and they offered me a free drink which was nice. All that to say, make sure you make a reservation and maybe call to follow up.
A very fun place to have a relaxed brunch with family and friends. The food was very good and included fun twists of some old standards. The staff was extremely attentive, thoughtful and fun.
Absolutely wonderful! Great ambience and even better food. The biscuits are a must get!
The service was great (and that says something for DC) but the food is just average and definitely not commensurate with the prices. I tried this place years ago when it opened and remember having the same thoughts. After a few years I thought I’d give it another try. Unlikely that I will go back.
Our server was amazing, she was on point with the bottomless refills!! Home fries were also amazing!!! Definitely coming back :)
We had the best time at Homestead! Desi, our waiter, was amazing, attentive and knowledgeable. She made sure we were well-taken care of, and she made our day.
The food was also quite good, and the ambiance is amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Homestead was very busy and loud during brunch, understandably. I was underwhelmed by my BLAT and Bloody Mary. I don’t know that I would return for brunch, but I’d try dinner.
The best part about this place is that it takes reservations for larger groups. The food was average for brunch. Servers were nice and helpful.
Great service. Very good at making recommendations and being attentive while allowing space for us to have conversation
Good service, itty bitty portions.
Great local neighborhood food and fantastic service
Best brunch in DC! Make reservations as this place can be crowded! Great deals on mimosas and brunch drinks as well!
