Great food and excellent service
The service was spectacular and the variety and quality of the food was exceptional. We were very impressed and look forward to returning soon.
Nice, but atmosphere is truly a poolside grill so don’t expect fine dining experience. People walking through in bathing suits and the outside pool bar are part of the experience. Not saying that’s bad, just know before you go. Food was good. Service friendly but not super attentive. Took a long time for the food to come.
We had a great breakfast! Some unusual selections.
Nice setting near the pool at the resort. Had breakfast there which was quite good. Large portions, decent variety of options. We were not staying at the resort and had no trouble finding parking.
Nice location, we had a great time meeting up with friends. It was loud, but not bad. Service was good but not great. Food was tasty and reasonably priced, but nothing outstanding. It was good enough to try again, but I'd probably try other local restaurants first.
Swordfish was delightful. Martini perfectly made. Chardonnay selection was excellent.
First time and it was great. Would recommend them again.
Food was exceptional, and we had a great time. The service staff was very attentive and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our meal. The only downside to this is the noise from a nearby pool. However we went again a couple of days later. We have gone to many of the restaurants on the island and this is the best food we have experienced. As mentioned the ambiance is the only slight negative.
Surprisingly great food...sweet waitress!
Some of the best fish I have ever had, beautifully presented. Deceptively casual atmosphere, the food is elevated and outstanding.
Ok setting. Next to the pool. A little noisy, but overall a pleasant experience. Coconut shrimp was very good.
Our 2nd visit during our 2 week Kauai stay, both for dinner and this time we brought guests. We were as pleased with our food as we were the first time, maybe more. One of the dishes, a swordfish, was prepared as well as it can be; the vegetable stir fy was excellent, again; the pulled pork sandwich had a pleasant "tang" without being overwhelming, more sauced than usual. We had a different server who handled tables with personality and professional skill. Even the local woman at the hostess table was making us feel like family and on leaving gave us a very nice aloha, until next time. There's outdoor seating, but both times we chose the covered portion which isn't fancy but open-air on one side. Holoholo a poolside bar-grill with excellent food for dinner. Although this is a Sam Choy property who is known for Hawaiian poke preparations, the poke is primarily a lunch dish so we will go back for lunch before we leave.
Had the burger which is made with wagyu beef . It was superb!! Crusty on the outside , tender and juicy on the inside and great flavor all served on a delicious brioche bun. Recommendwd
Nice menu next to hotel pool of Koloa Landing. Lots of activity due to proximity to hotel and pool action. They made breakfast items for us despite switching their menu to lunch 20 minutes earlier. Tasty food and friendly waitstaff.
The hype far exceeds the delivery. Stir fry did not include a variety of vegetables and probably included an entire red pepper, Hawaiin flatbread was excellent and my wife’s crusted fish was average. Waitress was very nice but we were served our entrees before we finished our flatbread. Meal was way too rushed.
Most of the food was good. One dish, breakfast hash with jalapeños didn’t have any jalapeños in it. Granola was served dry. The problem was the service. Very few guests when we dined. Food was served at different times. Waited nearly 10 minutes for drinks. Server seemed disinterested. Had to hold my coffee cup in the air to get a single refill. Valet at the front of the resort was the only one who asked how our meal was.
Decent service and food was good. Sometimes had to wait a while to be served, but not always. Small
Portions for the price; left still hungry twice. Poke lunch bowl was great! Best mai tai I had on the trip
Great breakfast menu, lots of healthy choices. Service and atmosphere was excellent too.
New Years Eve dinner. Efficient and friendly service, but preset menu was disappointing.
2 out of 3 hamburger orders totally messed up. Flatbread was cold.
Great breakfast, very good service, nice atmosphere.
Service ist very good. The Meal was tasty. Hawaian wine ist not our favorate.
Location is OK. It' possible to sit outside or covered. The price is Hawaian Niveau, for European rather high.
We stayed at the hotel and had the opportunity to try a few different menus. Overall menu is pretty good! My husband is a chef and the only thing he wasn't a fan of is their LocoMoco - he felt it didn't have enough taste. Breakfast was quiet and tasty. Their Portuguese sausage is GREAT. Macadamia pancakes is a huge three thick stack. Nachos are DELICIOUS- definitely try them! Burger was good too.
The pupus for two was terrific. Papaya salad was OK, as was the vegetable stir-fry.
Great food, nice staff, and lovely location overlooking the pool. Perfect!
Great breakfast options for a family with a variety of eating styles.
All good. Great breakfasts.
Nice casual outdoor space next to a large resort swimming pool. Good food.
Nice setting, liked the background music. Wish we’d found it sooner in our trip!
A typical Sam Choy restaurant
Good food, good value
It all depends on the occasion. This is merely an extension of an open bar space that sells food. We checked in for dinner rather early at 5:30 p.m. Being that we (announced) were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we asked to seat in a quiet location. The hostess escorted us to a nice quite place BUT seated us at a tiny table not quite enough for two persons. The place was empty and I told the hostess that I would rather seat else-where and not on a tiny "toy" table. She said that the she had a lot of reservations to fill … but she would check. As such we got a table nearby. But, we were there for a couple of hours and we noticed that the "lot of reservations" never happened -- as the hostess claimed. Well, had we not been granted better seating we would have left immediately.
Luckily the server was great, the food was good, and my wife and I enjoyed our dinner together. Again, would I recommend Holoholo Grill to a "friend"....it all depends on the occasion.
To my surprise it was a pool bar grill. The concierge at our hotel recommended it as a good place to get a burger. The waiter was not attentive for It not being busy at all. We sat without drink refills for a very long time. We ordered coconut shrimp hit never recorded it.
The food came out in a fair amount of time. The burger was food but eh onion rings were not hot at all.....
My husbands ribeye was Ok he said. It came out with asparagus, a glop of potatoes and some green paste.
The chef did come to the table to ask about the food. We told him we didn’t get the shrimp and he was surprised. Asked us to retune for dinner s the shrimp would be on him. However, we don’t return to the same place on vacation. Too many other places to visit.
Delicious food. Great service and loved the pool ambiance at night. Surrounded by the tiki lights, and sounds of the waterfalls.
This is a pool bar, not a dinner restaurant. Was surprised when hostess seated customers with bathing suits, no shirts for dinner. At least the customers looked at those of us seated and put their shirts on. Perfect for lunch!!
Limited food selections on the menu. The food we ordered was bland, warm not hot and few vegetables in the stir fry. The bottle of Hahn Pinot Noir was served very warm. We would not recommend this restaurant.
Oh my god! The breakfast was just amazing! We ordered 4 different breakfast choices as well as 2 types of smoothies, and every bite was heaven! Also, the ambiance and visual presentation of the food was top notch!
Disappointing and will not return. We ordered two drinks to start and while one arrived quickly it took nearly 40 min for them to bring the other. The server was apologetic and friendly but the restaurant didn't look to be that busy. Food was average, especially given the high prices.
Pricy for what we had.
Ahi was over cooked.
Flat bread was good
Food, service and waitress were excellent. Had lunch, will go back for dinner.
