For over 80 years, Hob Nob Hill has been serving San Diego from the Corner of First and Juniper, in the beautiful Bankers Hill neighborhood. Our bakery starts early every day to bake fresh muffins and cakes. Our cooks cure our corned beef. We make our own dressings and sauces, and squeeze our orange juice every single day.

We loved our lunch at the re-done Hob Nob! Not much has changed. Still beautiful inside, refreshed. Food was excellent, similar menu as before. Excellent desserts. We were so happy to see some familiar faces in the service staff, including our favorite server Fabiola, who’s waited on us for more than 20 years. We will look forward to returning again soon.

I’ve been a long time fan of Hob Nob but since the change of ownership, the menu is different, not offering a variety as they had before. I guess they are looking for a different clientele. We loved the fried pickles and food wasn’t bad. Our server was great, very friendly and personable and likable.

I used to come to Hob Nob years ago and was very excited to come back to try again. Even better than I remembered! Staff was excellent as always and the food was AMAZING. Looking forward to coming back.

We ordered two bloody Mary’s and our order at the same time. It took a half an hour to get two bloody Mary’s. Then our order came about 20 minutes later. The food was OK nothing spectacular. Then when we went to go pay with cash we were told they only take credit cards. There was no signage that I saw and nobody told us ahead of time that we had to pay with a credit card. There seem to be more Indians and not enough Chiefs running the place. I’ve always like going to hobnob Hill for Mother’s Day, but I don’t know that I’ll return.

Classic San Diego eatery recently sold to new owners. Same delicious food, with a smaller menu (we went during soft opening) but the choices were perfect. Legacy staff still there. Kitchen has been updated for the chef teams (per our waitress). Same clean, lovely environment. Had Mother’s Day breakfast with my son at 10a and it was awesome.

Service was slow; perhaps short kitchen staff. Wait persons were attentive and friendly. Potatoes were not as good as O’Brian potatoes per the previous owner.,Eggs, sausage patty, and gravy biscuits were excellent as was fresh squeezed orange juice. Biggest disappointment was the vibe. The make over resulted in a very nice diner but not distinctive as was the old Hob Bob. My first thought was, Where is the mural? I recognize the “new” Hob Nob just opened with reduced hours and will certainly return.. Change is hard and 4 stars is a great start. Looking forward to a 5 stars experience next time.
