This inviting spot feels like a modern Mexican hacienda deep in the jungle with its high, beam-lined pitch-roof ceiling, wrought-iron chandeliers, white-washed walls and tasteful bistro décor. Crimson velvet bar stools add a splash of color, complementing original artwork. Over locally inspired custom drinks, made-to-order sushi and lounge fare, take in sweeping views of the resort’s clear waterways on the oversized, softly lit deck, spotting monkeys, macaws and coatis (the bar’s name in the Mayan language means “jaguar,” a stealthy native of the Yucatan jungle). Sushi was very good. Israel the bar tender was great. He makes the best espresso martinis. He was very entertaining. Definitely stop by if you get a chance.
