Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen offers some interesting fare from far off corners of the earth. The restaurant provides Nepali and Indian cuisine. Diners can find gluten-free options and vegan options on the menu. Of course, the menu also offers plenty of meat options for those who want it.
In addition to the great service, those who visit Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen can also expect excellent food. Some of the options on the menu include Nepalese daal soup, Himalayan salad, steamed dumplings, a variety of curry dishes, tandoori and tikka masala. A variety of wine vintages and beer are available at Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen as well.
Love this place. Authentic food and great service.
Always GREAT food, consistent and super friendly service. A unique casual cuisine for Main Street, St. Helena.
Everything here is fantastic. I usually get the eggplant and potato or the salmon and eggplant curry with garlic basil naan. Service is fast and food comes and goes before you know it! Decently priced. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
The lunch specials are delicious. I love the mixed veggies that come with Thali plates and of course, all the mains are scruptous.
The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. I would go back every night if I could. A great alternative to the typical wine country dining.
This is such a little gem in St Helena. I chose it blindly as the name caught my eye and wanted to try something new and different. My friends and I were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. We were not too familiar with the Himalayan traditional food but our waiter made some excellent recommendations and we absolutely loved every dish we were served. We will be back ASAP.
Love this place. We have now eaten there twice. Small restaurant in St. Helena. Nice break from the Napa cuisine. Food is well prepared and spiced. If you order it spicy it is actually spicy. Had the garlic shrimp salad. 4 nicely grilled u-15 size shrimp with lettuce and dressing. Lukshya Ra Phing for my entree, this is a lamb curry with glass noodles. We will absolutely go back every time we are in Napa.
Even my husband's conservative palate loved the lamb and the lunch!
This was a very nice surprise! We came in with a party if 20 which I had booked long in advance. None of us had ever had Nepalese food before. It was great! The restaurant satisfied kids, vegetarians, picky eaters, and non-adventurous eaters. Everyone was happy and full! Service was great in accommodating our big party! Will return.
The masala sauce is amazing. The chicken tikka tandoori is some of the best I've ever had in my entire life. And the food is always consistent. We have eaten here a dozen times and I absolutely love them!
The food is amazingly tasty! For a lover of Indian food, this place gets the highest marks. Service is friendly and really good as well. Definitely worth visiting!
Dined here with 2 girlfriends prior to catching a play up the road, so we were on a schedule. Service was prompt, helpful and efficient. One of us is a vegan, who was easily accommodated by putting cheese on the side for the beet salad. Shared plates of cauliflower and eggplant curry were flavorful and appropriately spicy (we asked for "hot"). Pakora and Samosa appetizers were particularly enjoyable with wonderful dipping sauces.
Oh my gosh - why have I not been here before. This place is super delish! We started with the lamb momo dumplings and our waiter brought us a spicy version of the tomato sauce since we ordered a spicy curry. The dumplings were amazing and so was the curry and naan- we got the one with chicken and eggplant. The chicken tikki masala was hard to pass up but we were so happy with our choice. We also got some delicious imports!
I ordered the chicken tikka masala and was told that "medium" spicy was very spicy, so the waitress recommended I go for "mild plus" if I wanted a little spice. It was still very spicy, and I overheard a woman at another table say the same about her "mild plus." Aside from the spice, the sauce was not all that good either. I've had much better. The service was okay. We sat outside and it was a nice night, but the neighboring Italian restaurant was blaring their inappropriate music. I don't like to dine to Madonna and Lady Gaga. Napa Valley has many great restaurants, but this is not one of them.
We loved the restaurant so much that during our month stay in St. Helena that we ate there numerous times. The food is so delicious and cooked with exceptional ingredients. Every single server we had was kind and very sweet; no pretention at all. We have a bit more time here and will definitely go back.
Visited the Sherpa Kitchen whilst visiting Napa. Staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was great, though my wife regretted opting for extra hot temp. Regardless, we loved it here.
Just a excellent restaurant. Authentic, great flavor profiles, food served hot and quickly, the owner and staff were great. Solid value. Food was delicious. Highly recommended and would go again for sure.
In the center of St. Helena the restaurant has outdoor tables , well shaded.
The waiter was very knowledgeable about the ingredients in each of the courses we ordered. The owner treated us to a plate of fried veggie croquets; a nice gesture.
ABsolutely wonderful dining experience. The service was friendly and showed that they really cared about the restaurant's success and their customers' enjoyment.
We love Indian and related Nepalese/Himalayan food but we were terribly disappointed in Sherpa's. The appetizer plate consisted of potato, onions and panir batter and deep fried, all tasteless, two momos and one samosa, passable but not great. Our Chicken Tikka Masala was the worst we have ever had - no discernible Indian spices. We sat outdoors and a perfect evening on a quiet downtown street with a view of the Front Range. So disappointing that the food is such a downer.
The restaurant offers good service and food for a good value. Spice level runs hot. Owners are very courteous and focused on your requests. Basic kitchen and menu. A nice diversion from the typical goodie experience in wine country.
The food was very good and the portions not too large service was helpful and steered is in the right direction. Tandoori chicken is outstanding.
I should dine at this restaurant every week. Nima is such a wonderful host and the food is outstanding. I always eat more than I should. The best saag paneer and lentil soup, daal, I have ever found.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. This was our third time dining here and it was just as fabulous as the first two times. Every dish has been great, the wine list is awesome and the service is impeccable. The owner is very nice and is always on the floor meeting and assisting diners. Perfect place for a romantic evening or a night out with family/friends. I highly recommend to anyone who is interested in trying Himalayan food that they visit the Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen!
This is our new favorite spot! Especially for a local looking for something besides the expensive, Napa Valley fare, unpretentious and easy to get reservations.
The tandoori dishes are wonderful, especially the chicken pieces: juicy! Momos are similar to a steamed dumpling, delicious with the extra spicy sauce. Curries are very tasty and not overly spiced, so my husband did not get his usual heartburn [as with many Indian dishes].
One of the owners oversees ordering and serving and is happy to answer questions or guide you in selections. It was perfect to order 3 different dishes and share between 2 hungry people.
The wine list has just enough variety to please anyone and the prices are exceedingly fair.
We plan to make dining at Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen a regular event.
Loved our dinner at Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen! Cozy atmosphere. Fantastic food (we loved the lamb dumplings, the tiki masala, the tandoori). Great service. This is a nice neighborhood gem in St Helena. You can see why locals love eating here. Nice meal after a day of tasting.
We had some out of town friends visiting and wanted to try something new. I suggested Himalayan and they were eager to try it. Reservation for 8 was not a problem (Monday night) and was ready when we arrived. Nima (owner) answered our questions and took our orders with a informative and jovial attitude. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and was quite pleased. I also noticed when the food came out, conversations died down considerably and replaced by smacking of food. Everyone enjoyed their food but had no room for dessert. But next time, cuz we'll be back!
My wife and I dined here for Thanksgiving. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. This is some of the "lightest" Indian food I have ever tasted, and lacked nothing in terms of flavor. Highly recommended.
Had lunch at this restaurant during the Napa Valley Film Festival. So many Italian and California cuisine restaurants in the area serving essentially the same dishes, it was nice to have something different. Delicious Indian food and prompt, friendly service. Would dine here again.
STAY AWAY! We are Indian food lovers. Have never been served brown rice that was cold! Too late, friends in St. Helena warned us to not eat there.
My first time dining here and it was amazing. I have heard great reviews about this place and I'm glad the Kitchen lived up to those reviews. They have fantastic food and the service was awesome. I would definitely go back. There is a lovely outdoor seating area where you can look at downtown St. Helena. This is a good spot for a romantic evening or a night out with friends. They have a great wine list, including an $18 half bottle of Gloria Ferrer. Overall I am very pleased with my experience here and look forward to going back.
We are Indian food enthusiasts but this was, by far, the best in that general category
If you are tired of the usual fabulous 'farm to table' fare and want something different and easy - this is your spot. Good food, fresh, and an amiable and hardworking group.
You can't go wrong here, love the tikka masala. The basil and cilantro nan are amazing. Vegetarian friendly.
The staff at this restaurant were very kind and patient with us as well as eager to please. The food was good, and the ambiance was much nicer than most restaurants of this type. It was a welcome break in the usual Napa Valley style of restaurants. Not many good ethnic restaurants in the area, and this was a great choice for an unpretentious meal in nice surroundings. I would gladly return when I have a craving for some tika masala, saag paneer and some delicious naan. We paid our bill and continued to sit and visit at the table and the staff were so courteous that they continued to fill our water glasses and never gave us any impression that we needed to leave. Very hospitable.
More than amazing. You will wish your Momma was Nepalese.
My husband is still lamenting that we split the Rice Pudding dessert and that he didn't just get his own. The food was very tasty, but I think our favorite items were the Naan and the rice pudding!
The food is so wonderful here! Don't miss the appetizers. All of the ingredients are high quality.
Found this little gem while spending a week in the Valley in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. The special that evening was a rack of lamb and lobster tail, grilled and served sizzling hot over a bed of onions, peppers and broccoli. The entire dish was masterfully seasoned and well balanced. A vibrant mix of very fresh ingredients and an obviously experienced hand at the grill. The garlic & herb naan was also a great pleasure in it's simplicity and execution. Be sure to order a mango lassi as it's freshness and coolness provided a nice counterpoint to the smoky spiciness of the main dish. We are recommending Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen to all of our friends in the Valley and those traveling there. A memorable dinner indeed!!
You won't need me to recommend this place.... Just go! You won't be disappointed!
