Delicious food, good selection of beer and other drinks, great service!!! What more can you ask for?!!
Server messed up the drink order and also didn't provide meal cards for ordering so the bbq staff were annoyed. The drinks were poorly made. Overall disappointing after a lot of hype.
Our first time at Hill Country was thoroughly enjoyed by our whole group. After our food server explained how it all worked. we ate ourselves into oblivion. Thank you!
We were there. We got an email saying we didn’t show up. But we were there. We got a ton of food; smoked turkey, jalapeño cheese sausage, about five sides. It was great night
Great food. Confusing market system at first but once we figured it out it was great.
Great service, good food nice atmosphere. Definitely will visit again.
This place is great. Counter order as much or little meats you want. Gives you a great chance to try different things and all were so good. Loved the lean brisket especially. Nice staff too.
I would recommend for the live music downstairs. The BBQ - I have had better. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it wasn't bad. I would eat the sandwich again but I did not care for the baked beans.
Great food, after being seated and getting drinks you line up at 2 separate counters to get meat then sides. Service was great!
Great for big groups and lunch with co workers!
Perfect for dinner before the Caps game. Great food and service.
Great Texas-style BBQ and I enjoyed a delicious and filling lunch special they offered.
The food was great. I loved the experience. Not your typical dining experience but it was great for a bbq place
Very unpleasant experience. Server was very nice, bur when we went to the food side we were served our meal thrown on a tray, we were shocked but it was BBQ so no big deal yet. We were appalled at how expensive the meals were. Especially after we sat down to eat, we noticed every guest seating around us were served their meats wrapped in paper. We asked our server she apologize but said she had no idea why we were treated that way. Our food of course was cold by the time we try to eat it. Ribs were ok, no comparison to real TX flavor, the worse was the sausage was terrible, had no flavor whatsoever, it was very soft and crumbly inside unlike no sausage i have ever eaten, pulled pork had too much fat and was cold and flavorless, corn bread cold and not tasty.
Manager talked to us and of course did not charge us for the sausage, turned out to an insignificant discount, still payed over 50 dollars for a terrible meal. Never to come back.
Great time and bbq after sport event! Thank you. Will visit again
Amazing pulled pork, Mac n cheese, and beans. Ribs were tough and dry, and half our table loved the sweet potatoes and half didn’t like them at all. The staff were friendly and atmosphere was fun!
Food was good. Had to refill my own drinks because I couldn’t find a waiter after he took my initial drink order. BBQ was great and plentiful.
Went for early dinner on Sat 1/11/20. The brisket was the standout dish Very tender and juicy. The mac and cheese and beans with burnt ends were very good as well. The ribs were average. The service was spot on. We will be back.
Always good BBQ. Hard to believe this is a NYC based restaurant. I had the pulled pork this time but usually get brisket and ribs. All good.
Great collards too.
I'd come back and try it again, as the bbq sauce and potato sides were very good, but the Moist Brisket was very dry, so I'd like a do-over on that one.
Hill Country is always my favorite place for barbecue in DC. Great portions, delicious food and cocktails!
I love the barbecue here. The brisket is the signature meat, but the prime rib and pulled pork are fantastic. If you have at least three in your party go with one of the platters.
Excellent food! Highly recommend their brisket.
We had a great experience and enjoyed a great meal. The ordering process is confusing and intimidating. It will be easier the next visit!
We arrived at 6:45 for our reservation and were told by the host they were only serving the bar menu as they ran out of food. Our server advised that they had chicken, turkey and sausage but no pulled pork, ribs or brisket. Very disappointing.
Employees at meat counter were not very friendly. Didn’t even say hi and didn’t respond when I thanked him. Waitress did not visit our table for a long time- long enough that I would have already bought another drink and her tip would have gone up. Poor food service training!
Foood was good, but they were out of two entrees (burnt ends and pulled pork) by 6:00 PM on a Saturday. Service was adequate considering you walk up and order by tray.
As always, Hill Country delivers. The food was great, and I highly recommend the burnt ends especially!
A unique way of ordering and getting your food, In a good way! Food was outstanding! I finally made reservations in advance because if you don't you are risking losing out on getting a table! I will be back again and again and again!!!
Great selection of high quality food. Mac & cheese is awesome. Hubby loved the brisket & pulled pork.
Not as good as BBQ in Texas, but damn fine here in DC! And Shiner on tap!
Gig Em Aggies!
We made reservations but showed up early and we were still able to be seated right away. The ordering process was different but incredibly easy to understand. The brisket and pulled pork were delicious and so juicy! Mac and cheese was delicious too! We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and they really hit the spot. Can’t wait to go back again!
Good atmosphere in a busy area of town. We arrived around 8:00pm and most of their meats were sold out. Only brisket and sausage remained, so we all got the brisket. Very tasty. Fatty, as brisket usually is, but good.
For sides, we had the collards and Mac and cheese. Both were excellent.
Best BBQ in DC. Great place before or after event at Cap One Arena.
Thanksgiving was awesome here!
We visited on Thanksgiving 2019. It's very delicious and have traditional TGiving dishes and other smoked meats and desserts. This year they had an all you can eat option or an A la carte. We've chosen all you can eat in the past. This year we chose A la carte so we could take our left overs to go. It's well worth the money. You will leave very full and satisfied.
Thanksgiving was great: no leftovers, but no cleaning up.
Good I think needed more salad options
Going down hill. But still decent bbq. Service was slow and very impersonal. Sides were cold
The food was very authentic! We were seated somewhat in between too boisterous gatherings so it was a little loud for me but the food was delicious!
