Seafood boils are a tradition in Louisiana, and we’re adding to this flavorful part of our culture with our restaurant in NOLA’s Mid-City. Hieu, the man who started HIEUX BOIL Seafood House, grew up fishing for shrimp and crawfish, and he’s eager to share his passion for cooking up fresh catches. At our restaurant, you start by picking your seafood, your flavor, and then choosing your heat level. Then you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy your meal with everyone else who’s gathered around the table. It’s just like a backyard boil except for the fact that the food, cocktails, and craft beer never end. Bring your friends. Bring your appetites. It’s time to eat!

Food was ok not great. The server seemed as if she was the only one working. Music was loud so it was hard to hear server. Food as better there than the food on Bourbon St. I will go back though the server was nice and informative.

The only problem was the files. I love this restaurant. Yes I would recommend Hieux Boil Seafood House. I brought 4 of my cousins with me on this visit.

We’ve been to Nola numerous times but never doing crawfish season. We live in Hawaii and there are no restaurants where you can find fresh live crawfish so we decided to try HIEUX. Being former wine educators for over 30 years in New York City we really take restaurants seriously. Here are the reasons why HIEUX works and is now in our top five Nola restaurants. It is seriously cute from the outside with a very nice and comfortable lanai. We opted for the inside venue. The inside vibe is immaculate with lots of room on each table for all the many dishes you will eventually choose. The initial greeting was pure Hawaiian aloha as it is in Nola. Some of the nicest staff members you will ever meet. Their knowledge of each and every dish was amazing. Directly nations really made for a memorable lunch. Their beer list on tap was special especially since they had Abita Amber on tap. We were there to pig out and boy did we ever. We hope we will be able to be ready for another of our top 10 restaurants tonight which is Bywater American Bistro. Speaking of food here is a list of what we ordered with some special help from our server TANIEL. Just note you have a choice of sauces. The most popular is garlic but we opted for Cajun since we are in Nola. Also we picked medium heat and it was a perfect choice for us. TNIEL described in detail all of the choices and we decided on the Taste of New Orleans. We started off with an appetizer of crawfish Bignets with whole crawfish tails mixed in batter. The rest included blue fin crab,shrimp,crawfish ,Andouille ,corn and potatoes. The sauce that everything nestled in was by far one of the truest and best examples of Cajun cuisine we’ve ever had. EVERYTHING was super fresh. Bibs helped with the pig out as well as a nicely setup full roll of paper towels. We felt that we died and went to Cajun Heaven. Make reservations because this restaurant will be discovered and seriously packed.

I came with a group that was visiting from California. The restaurant was short staffed so we waited an hour after reservations to be seated. Our food came out at all different times and some of our food never came out. We did have a friend allergic to seafood so we checked the menu for non-seafood items and found about 3. When the waiter food out about his allergy she stopped everything to see if they fried everything in the same grease. Everything is fried in the same oil as seafood so he couldn’t eat anything there. The Cajun pasta was not good; crab cake tasted like Mayo and pasta needed more flavor. When I asked for it to be removed, she politely said she can’t and asked if I wanted to pack it up. I asked her to clear it from the table because I did not wish to take it with me & I still had to pay for a meal I took 2 bites of. I had order 3 other items there so it was like they weee losing money. The server was very nice & explained they were short but still this wasn’t a good experience. I would not select this place to go to again but if someone wanted to try it I would stick to the seafood platters or buckets.

We were seated quickly and at the time of our reservation. The outdoor patio was full with a large party but we were quickly accommodated inside.

Our server was excellent. She was attentive and pleasant. My wife had the Chargrilled Oysters. She enjoyed them, only wanting them to be more moist. We ordered calamari…these were horrible! They were tiny and overcooked. Felt like they came from the bottom of a bag.

It was hot. We were set on the inside because it was hot (86°F outside). If was 85° inside. They said they had the air on but no. It was still hot. There were flies. BIG HORSE FLIES. The waiter did not want to use his brain. We had a picky eater with us who asked for Cajun flavor on the chicken strips platter. He went back to the chicken and asked something and came back and said they couldn't do. But when I ordered chicken wings, he asked what sauce. I said Cajun and asked could he bring some sauce for the chicken strips. Of course they could. One of our diners ordered a to go salad. A. They charged $5 for 1 chicken strip to be added to the salad. And B.) They were asked to include ranch dressing; they confirmed that it was ranch dressing, yet we found Caesar dressing.

Loved finding this place! The chargrilled oysters were the best I have ever had. The fried Brussels are not to be missed. Our waitress, despite looking like she was he only one working outside, was attentive and cheerful. We will definitely be back!

Save your time and money go to fiery crab. This place sucks the male waiter did not get our simple order correct. So busy worrying about the big tables he never gave us our check had to ask another waitress for help. The order was incorrect and the food was awful. FIERY CRAB is 100 times better than this S-HOLE

The chargrilled oysters was so good came 2 days in a row ..and my son had the classic seafood basket he said it was real good but real spicy for a medium heat so i suggest anyone want to enjoy it with little spice get the low other than that i will be back a third time lol!!

Timing was off for food. The waitress, Hallie was very nice, and the food was very good, but 2 in our party ordered apps as entrees, they did not come out with meal. 1 ordered a a grilled platter which was brought prior to the other food and was only slightly warm. When you have a group, you want everyone to enjoy their meal together, but it was very off, all of us eating at different times. Additionally, anything extra we asked for, butter, cocktail sauce, etc took way too long to arrive from the kitchen.

If the kitchen can get their timing down and have food ready all together and as ordered this place would be great.

Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Flavor and spicy , and I recommend the low heat to anyone that likes spicy but not too too much, the medium was too hot for me.

Crawfish was pretty good. Fried Calamari was excellent. Loved the Garlic Butter King Crab. The pasta
