Outside patio has heaters and wonderfully large wooden tables. Irish coffee is a must. Great ambiance overall.
Excellent service and very attentive staff made our experience great. Apps and food were good. Only drawback is they still let people smoke outside while others are eating. I thought that went away a couple decades ago.
Rooftop was excellent, not too crowded, the help was masked.
My wife and I chose The Hibernian for our date night. From the kind gentleman greeting us at the door, to the friendly staff greeting us as we traversed through the restaurant to our table. Cant say enough about our waitress, Fiona, shes a doll! Very friendly, attentive and the Irish accent, loved her! Great food!! We will be back soon. Kudos to all !!!!!!
We had a party of 7 and we had the best time. Great service and food and drinks!
A little louder than I had hoped, but the food was very good, and the wait staff was great!
Overall I was disappointed with my first time to Hibernian. I had a 745pm reservation and we got sat at a high top table off to the side in the darkest room possible. It was cold and drafty and uncomfortable. The service was not great just OK. The appetizers we ordered were probably the better of any food we had. Calamari had good flavor and was hot but a little chewy no big whoop. We also ordered the shrimp appetizer... that was actually very tasty and came out hot. Our dinners however were Disappointing. I ordered the bangers and mash... she ordered the fish and chips (cod). My bangers (sausage) and mashed potatoes were hardly warm with warmish gravy poured on. Had very little flavor too. Her cod fish and chips could have been good had the fish been hot. Her fries were hot out of the fryer but that’s it. Fish was just thrown onto the plate. Also we ordered a brownie sundae. The ice cream was good... but the focus of a brownie sundae should be the brownie. Let me say it was horrible. Lastly this is an “Irish” pub and restaurant. The music they played was was 80’s/90’s hits or something.... I would expect better music or even would have enjoyed authentic Irish style music. After an experience like this on our first visit... I will likely never return again.
Had a good time
The service, ambiance, and prices were all great, but the food was not great. I think this restaurant has so much potential to be good. The food all tasted like it lacked any seasoning at all.
My husband and I went for a last minute Valentine’s Day dinner, this was only the second time we’d been out since having our first child. It was perfect! The special menu was great, the prime rib was delicious and dessert was wonderful. Definitely well worth the price for the quality and quantity of food we got, not to mention our waitress who was very personable and charming. Highly recommend this place whether it is for a casual Friday night or a special evening
Great Irish pub food and beer.
So food was good, however not as good as in UK.
I ordered glass of wine , and I had lipstick on the glass, that wasn't cool.
also when I made my reservation I asked for warm table... when we arrived the host give the table opposite the patio door
Our experience was really lovely eating dinner at the Hibernian Pub. However, we sat upstairs and the doors were open to the patio which made it very cold while trying to enjoy dinner, that was the only downside.
I can't think of one thing that was good during our New Year's Eve Dinner.
We had a reservation for 3 at 730, apparently when we arrived there was some confusion with where we would sit, the table assigned to us had t-shirts and beers on it. We waited about 10 minutes while the hosts discussed where we would sit and went back and forth to check the status of tables. We were taken upstairs which was a problem due to my husbands recent stroke, but we managed. The bar height table we could not do because the stools do not have backs and there is a balancing issue. This table was next to an open patio area and it was 47 degrees outside. I told the host, he said we could have the booth across when that couple was done, which they vacated within a few minutes, but we were left to stand nearby and wait. We sat at the booth which was also nearby the open patio area. You might want to reconsider this during dinner hours.
When we were finally seated, the server asked for our drink orders. My husband who has a severe speech delay ordered a Dr. Pepper and the server LAUGHED!!!!!! It took every bit of self control that I and my son could muster up to not only stay there but not respond. What an immature young man you have representing your company.
We ordered an appetizer, The Classic Nachos, the toppings on the side There was no chili on the chips, so we paid $10 for chips and cheese. We weren't provided appetizer plates, so we all ate off the plate. Not cool. We placed our order for entrees which we selected off the special menu, the meat was prepared incorrectly, so we took it home and put it on the grill the next day. AND the Oreo pie my husband was served had A SINGLE STRAND OF HAIR in the whipped cream.
This experience was was one of the worst ever dining experiences that we have had since moving to this area. It's a shame because we looked at the menu and thought it all said we would have to come back and try other things, until the nightmare started
Jeff, our server was fabulous! The booth were we sat was very cozy and comfortable! The Thanksgiving dinner was awesome!!! Being from Miami & visiting Raleigh for the holiday I felt the restaurant offered exactly what we wanted for dinner. We really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant very much.
The second floor has a nice view of the area. The large fire place is a nice touch.
Nice place in down town Raleigh. Wonderful old decorating features and a friendly place. Staff was a bit frantic for Thanksgiving, but the meal was very good. Turkey and all the sides - very good and filling.
Very enjoyable, food was excellent!
We had gone to thanksgiving dinner several years ago here, it was great! This year, the food ( ham& turkey ) was dried out and the rest of food was cold. Terrible dinner! Will not be going back!
Traveling and had Thanksgiving lunch here. The food was good and our server was great.
Asked for a table or booth. Was set at a high top in bar.
Last time for this spot.
We go every Tuesday for bingo, and every Tuesday we have an awesome time. The food is awesome, the environments awesome, & it’s overall a great place to be.
The service was excellent, with really good food.
Our office went to Hibernian for lunch on a beautiful Friday. We were seated on the upstairs patio and had a wonderful meal, with an even better view.
We had a large booth set behind a curtain and a few people bailed at the last minute so we had 8 instead of 12. That wound up being a good thing because 12 would have been a tight fit! Hibernian is always a great atmosphere and the food is usually good. Unfortunately the service wasn’t so good. The waiter made it clear he wasn’t happy we went from 12 to 8 people even though our table definitely drank enough to make up for it. One person’s food came out wrong and he tried to tell the person that she ordered something different than she had (when we all heard her order what she was saying she ordered). It was difficult to get the waiter’s attention to order more drinks. Originally we planned to spend more time and more money drinking at Hibernian after we ate. Unfortunately, since we couldn’t easily get drinks on a regular basis, we took the rest of our evening elsewhere.
The bouncer was very nice and friendly. Our server appeared stressed and didn’t really check on the table and also got the bills mixed up. When an entry was inquired about, she said she didn’t know and didn’t try and find out. No fault of hers, but the restaurant was out of Corona, Heineken and Modela beer at 8:00. I’m glad that we didn’t have anyone visiting from out of town. Rooftop was nice and a great table.
Solid bar food, sandwich was very good. Meatball sub was a bit over-cheesy but ok. Looks of beers and friendly service.
Overall it was a great time! Friendly staff and great drink specials and food was good as well.
Aside from the waiter, everything else was outstanding!
1st timers, food was great, big portions! I’m a big guy and couldn’t finish my dish. Sat outside on top deck, really nice evening. Thank you!
Thank you so much and we are so happy you all had a great visit with us! Hope to see you all again soon!
Wow, this place is so cool. Great food. Great staff.
We had an issue with reservation being for “outside” seating when we specifically requested “inside” seating. After several awkward moments, we were finally, reluctantly, given inside seating. Very noisy music playing. We had to ask several times for music to be turned down so we could hear each other at the table. Food finally delivered but was incorrect for two out of the six of us, and no food for one of us. We were all nearly finished before that person got their food.
Bangers and mash and the fish and chips were very good. Huge portions. Parking (pay) behind the restaurant.
Went here with some work colleagues. The food was just ok. The service was really good, so that was definitely a plus.
Ate outside for the first time. Gorgeous evening. Enjoyed!
We had a great time at the pub. The food was delicious and the decoration and atmosphere was awesome. The only complaint is that once we were brought our beer and food the server disappeared and wasn’t seen again until the check was brought. No water refill, we had no silverware so I had to find some myself, and we wanted desert but he brought the check so we decided to leave.
Management and wait staff intent on providing great customer service.
Mothers Day Lunch 10/10
The Hibernain is a great Pub. We actually went as a graduation dinner and the service was great and the food was tasty.
We came at a very busy time during a night where there was also a hockey game, but despite the heavy crowd we still had great service, our spot we requested in the notes was provided, and our food was delicious. They didn't have enough menus for our group, and it took a bit for us to have a dedicated server show up, but aside from that they did a fantastic job
