Restaurant was CLOSED and we received no notification that it was not open on New Year’s Eve, so we could make other arrangements. Hard to find a place to eat on a holiday without a reservation at 7:00 pm.
It was closed. I was disappointed to be able to make a reservation when the restaurant is not open.
Family stopped in before seeing holiday lights at the Fairgrounds. It was our first time visiting and we really enjoyed it. Food was terrific - catfish and crab cakes were the better dishes on our table. Service was responsive, and we enjoyed the overall experience.
Food was fantastic. Nice dining room w piano ambience.
The waiter was terrific, they gave you plenty of food-you will not go away hangry, the mixologist was on point, the breading on the fried seafood was extremely salty, the conch fritters were almost as good as those in the Florida Keys. The seafood was fresh, the oysters were huge and the shrimp were alright just too salty.
Best ribs I’ve ever had in my life.
Was our 1st time going will definitely go back. Food was excellent but it is pricey but because the food was excellent I didn't mind the price. Didn't have to ask for more jack in my drink either.
The fresh oysters were delicious. The smoked prime rib is very worthy. We eat there frequently because of the wonderful food.
Outstanding food in a very non-descriptive building. A North GA mountain gem. We did not try anything from the bar service.
Lots of food! Didn’t leave hungry. Sweet little restaurant in the heart of Hiawassee. We sat out side, the porch is covered, (we aren’t doing inside dining yet) and it was really nice. Servers were fun and attentive.
The flies were terrible!
Great service, catfish and fried shrimp were both good, other items we tried were just ok at best. Thought the price was too high for the quality of the good.
My husband got the shrimp creole and I was happy with my shrimp platter. The only bad thing about the platter was the hush puppies, too meally and weird spices. Our waiter was very nice but he had a bunch of tables and was running to keep up. I asked the server who brought my meal for cocktail sauce and she returned with barbecue sauce. When I showed it to my waiter he quickly corrected her error. Food was good, but don't expect to be bowled over by the service or ambiance. It's just not that kind of place.
This was our second time visiting Hiawassee Seafood and both times have been amazing. The food is delicious, upscale, and high quality. The service is friendly and attentive. A very welcomed addition to Hiawassee!
This place has, by far, the best food in Hiawassee.
Since we were here last a roof has been added to the outdoor seating area. This makes it nice and shady, perfect for the summer. As the restaurant is located at a main road, the noise level is quite strong, but one knows that when one goes there. The food again was delicious; we love their fries, the crackling pork skin, the selection of beer on tap. My husband had the Po'Boy with shrimp; I had the one w/oysters. Both were excellent and plentiful, just like at our last (first) visit. I had ordered, and enjoyed tremendously, the crawfish etouffee and was sorry to see that it was no longer offered on the lunch menu. - All our selections so far have been excellent - we never had any better during our visits to New Orleans and surrounding area. Our dog Sadie was with us; no wait staff offered a dish of water, something they ought to rectify, especially as they knew our dog was coming along (there were guests w/dogs during our last visit) which I noted when I made reservations the day before. == It was my husband's 80th birthday and the waitress presented him with a container of delicious banana pudding when we left, a very nice gesture.
We visited this restaurant twice while in town and we loved it. Good food, good cocktails and great service.
Crap cakes are fabulous! The side salad is a perfect match. This restaurant never disappoints. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was excellent and service was fine
We have not not had a bad meal yet as bd have tried multiple items on the menu. I have ordered the whole lobster 3 times and every time it’s amazing!! Other favorites charbroiled oysters that are truly charge broiled! Crawfish Etouffee, boudin balls and alligator bites are some of our favorites. Kid friendly with separate kid menu. Highly recommend.
First time to Hiawassee and we found this fabulous place! Service was great, food divine! Best crab cakes ever, swordfish special was amazing too. Decent wine list, nice dessert selection for a birthday treat! We will be back!
Trout and oysters were delicious!
Service was spot on.
The food is amazing! We went multiple times within the last 2 weeks, trying new items each time, and enjoyed all of it. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming to children as well. Adults get to enjoy a great meal while kiddos get to have food just for them, if they want. Highly recommend!
Great food staff everything was wicked awesome we will be going again
We had a wonderful dinner at Hiawassee Seafood Bar & Grill on their opening night. We had made a reservation using open table and were seated right on time. The staff was very friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu has a nice selection of seafood, fish, grilled items, pasta, salads, and more. There is even a vegan option which is a welcomed addition in an area where vegetarian options can often be tough to find.
We selected the BBQ Shrimp and raw Oysters as an appetizer and were blown away. The oysters were so fresh and presented beautifully. Likewise, the BBQ Shrimp was impressive and so delicious. The shrimp were GIANT!
For our entrees, we selected the Surf & Turf and the Crawfish Etoufee. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was very tender. The lobster tail was poached in butter and was also cooked perfectly. And the Crawfish Etoufee was outstanding. Just the right amount of spicy heat.
We are super excited to have another amazing restaurant here in town!
It was opening night for the restaurant and things seemed a little off.
