    We have dined here before and it was always special and upscale. Today didn’t seem that way. It was very average at best. The server seemed preoccupied and wasn’t attentive bringing us our food and drinks. Had to repeatedly ask for coffee and refills. The orders were mixed up upon being brought to the table. The food was good, not great. Disappointing experience this time.

    It was excellent! The food is delicious and the Tasting menu offers surprises that are a treat to the senses! Thanks for a great night and wonderful service by Jake and Diane and your wonderful chefs! Yum!

    My husband and I booked a short trip to NC for the weekend and we always like to find a restaurant with a dining experience. HERONS DID NOT DISSAPOINT!! By the grace of God we were able to get a last minute reservation. Herons not only embodies a welcoming atmosphere they also bring you on a food journey. My husband and I did the chefs tasting menu with the wine pairing and we would do it again. Our waiter was also amazing! He didn't just explain the food he was able to carry a conversation about pottery, and fun things to do in the area. I feel like lot of the time when you get a meal like the one at Herons it can become overwhelming. I have had many dinners where the chefs menu was so heavy you didn't want anther plate of food to come out. That was not the case. It was light, fresh, salty, heavy, and sweet. Thank you Herons for this amazing experience.
