   We had the most amazing experience at Heron's on 4/26. I'll preface by stating that this was our first visit and also the first time we've ever done a "chef's tasting" anywhere. We had an idea of what to expect but the wonderful staff at Heron's made this experience so much more than just a fine dining experience. The staff was friendly, they made casual conversation with us but also held a very specific level of professionalism. They were all very knowledgeable in their respective areas. They honestly made the experience so great that you never really had to ask for anything. Psychics basically... The Chef's Tasting Menu was phenomenal. Each course was prepared perfectly and they gave you ample time to enjoy the course, and your company, before serving the next course. The wine pairing is a must. The wines they paired with each course were spot on and the sommelier's presentation of each wine really helped you to better understand each pairing. For anyone who is nervous to do the Chef's Tasting because of the unique foods on the menu... Do it anyway. The way they pair items together to build their dishes is like a scrumptious piece of art. I'm mildly picky but found that I loved everything that we were served.

   Always an amazing experience on all fronts -- quality/creativity/presentation of food, professional service, ability to cater to specific dietary needs, and beautiful ambiance. Heron's never disappoints, whether for a romantic date night or a business dinner that requires a quiet atmosphere and well-spaced tables for uninterrupted conversation.

   Stellar! Chef Stephen Greene and his team create a dining experience like no other. The culinary creations are as creative as they are delicious. The service is exceptional, and the staff is perfectly attentive to every detail. Quite simply, the best!!

   We arrived about 2 hours ahead of reservation to enjoy some time at the bar prior to dinner. The initial impression was not good. Juan the bartender was cold and mechanical, like he could not be bothered. We ordered truffle fries with our drinks. He mumbled and the fries never showed up until 45 minutes later because he did not put order in. Not a good first impression. Thankfully, another bartender showed up named Sean. He was very friendly and sociable, so he saved the night. As far as dining experience, staff was attentive, friendly and pleasant. The food is not rushed, allowing you to enjoy each course. The presentation is very nice. I would say half of the food was great and the other half, fair. Beet salad was great, quail missed the mark.Pheasant, great. Carrot dessert, imaginative and tasty. Oysters, -they should let you know are cooked, let down if you want just out of shell. Lobster, good. Halibut, not crazy about it. My main complaint would be the decor of the dining room does not match the food experience. For a high end restaurant, the decor feels like your in a regular eatery. Total mismatch there, especially at this price point. Even the bar area is better appointed. Finally, they should train the waitress to let you know that after 11pm, valet closes and you need to see front desk for keys. We were waiting for 15 minutes outside until another couple went inside to find out what was going on. We were given our keys and had to fetch our own car. Overall, the experience, which should have been amazing, fell flat.

    We ate at Heron’s to celebrate our 36th Anniversary. We ordered a selection from each of the four courses. My husband and I both got the Omikase. The sushi was outstanding and we have eaten Sushi in quite a few restaurants. I ordered the Lobster and my husband ordered the Hamachi. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. For our entrees I ordered the Duck and my husband ordered the Halibut. The preparation of the Duck and the confit was excellent. The layers of flavor with the Halibut were wonderful. They accommodated some change requests with dessert and the chocolate and carrot cake were both a fantastic finish. Service was top notch and not overbearing. The pacing was perfect between courses and we spent 2 1/2 hours for four courses. When we lived in CT., we ate at Blue Hill at Stone Barn for our 25th anniversary-and Heron’s was certainly of the same caliber. We will be returning.
