From the OpenTable editors: This MICHELIN-Starred tasting menu gets special status for sourcing ingredients from Heritage's own farm down the street. The seasonal, multi-course menu includes fruits and vegetables that sibling owners Phillip and Lauren Pretty get from the farm twice weekly. Plus, meat and seafood comes locally from California, including fish from Long Beach’s own waters. You’ll see it all in showstopping dishes like dungeness crab toast with avocado crema and sous vide beets.

From sourcing local, seasonal ingredients to minimizing food waste and reducing our environmental footprint, were proud to continue the sustainable dining legacy across our restaurants by incorporating green certified and green Michelin star practices into our operations.

    Heritage is family owned and operated by Chef Philip Pretty and sister Lauren Pretty. Our lively indoor dining room was built in 1922 as a craftsman house. Walk inside to an open kitchen, request bar seating to watch us cook over a live fire Santa Maria grill. Located in the Rose Park neighborhood of Long Beach on the corner of 7th & Saint Louis Ave. Heritage Restaurant uses sustainable meat & seafood, and Farmer's Market produce. Growing our own produce at Heritage Farm right up the street. Certified blue, green, and maintain a zero-waste kitchen. One red and green star Michelin awarded. We serve a tasting menu only. We politely decline modifications. Please specify all dietary restrictions/allergies when booking your reservation. Our menu is seasonal, and subject to daily changes.                           Updating review since my last visit was when Heritage first opened and prior to earning their Michelin star. They have truly elevated and fine tuned their service and execution of dishes. With just four seats at the counter and six tables in the dining room, guests still get the warm home hospitality feel in an intimate setting. Their tastings are now set at $160 per person, which comes with 12 thoughtfully curated bites of umami, textures and flavor profiles. The majority of their produce and herbs are grown in the Heritage Farm, just a mile away from the restaurant. Staying true to their zero-waste philosophy, they repurpose any excess ingredients into compost cycling back to the gardens. Sustainable dining at its finest! Summer 2025 tasting menu: Palo Santo Mint- an herbal shot to open the senses Steamed Baby Corn- loved the shaved truffle on top Box Crab- lovely pastry bite Pickled Plum- palate cleanser Slow-Cooked Farm Beets Celtuce, fennel, house yogurt Live Scallop in Shell Dashi, smoked trout roe Braised Sweetbreads- not really bread but yummy chunks of bacon with spring onion, fava bean and greens Mt. Lassen Trout Beluga lentil, herb pistou- Loved! 32-Day Dry Aged Rib Chop Delta asparagus, spring onion Crème Caviar: Heritage caviar, manzanilla oil - soooo good! Mille-feuille: Strawberry, rhubarb, pistachio Pâte de Fruit Boysenberry- like gummies :) Wine pairing is an additional $95. We opted to bring a bottle of wine for a $40 cork fee. Valet is $25, but you might be able to find street parking on 7th Street. Incredible experience and so happy to have this gem in Long Beach!

                          We had a tasty, beautiful dinner in a quant space with a very kind staff. Everyone working at Heritage really made our experience that much better. The manager, Jen took time to have conversations with us, telling us the future of the restaurant & sharing moments. My husband & I really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you, Heritage!

                          If you want a culinary experience that will become a lifetime memory, Heritage is the place. It was a big expense for us, but it was my wife's birthday and we had both been in the doldrums. That evening at Heritage was wonderful! I lifted us out of your gloominess, and reminded us of how amazing life can be. We're both still talking about it, several days later!

                          We drove from San Diego just to eat here again and so worth the drive. The presentation and balance of flavors was spectacular. Service exceptional and ambiance subtle. This is our favorite restaurant and we will continue to drive to Long Beach every time there is a change in menu.

                          Food was mind blowing and the wine pairing was great. Staff was so nice. We sat at the counter which was super fun to watch the kitchen in action. Can’t wait to go back.
