The Brussels sprouts were great, not much options for vegetarians
Herb and Bitter has outstanding small plates. Our party of four shared a selection of Starters and most of the the items from the Garden section of the menu as well as one entree. Everything we ordered was delicious. The cocktails were good, but not great, thought their spirits menu is extensive and I wish I could afford to explore the whole list. We will be back.
We continue to make Herb & Bitter our 'go to' Happy Hour' gathering place. Appetizer bites, especially the charcuterie and new additions such as the chorizo bahn mi sliders, add to the amazing 'story book' drinks menu and, as always, a whimsy created by the bartender. Service is excellent!
For the second time Herb & Bitter Public House does not disappoint. This time adding food to the mix with drinks for a birthday celebration we were pleasantly surprised. The Broccolini dish was delectable along with the Chicken and Steak entrees we ordered. The wait staff is friendly and the drinks are amazingly concocted for a hint of unpredictability and fun!
Birthday get together. Great drinks, nice apps and fast service.
Drink was spilled all over us by waitstaff and entres were brought out 10min + apart from one another and shrimp and grits was soupy and under cooked. Cocktail were fantastic though!
Fun place, but they are charging high end seattle restaurant prices but the food isn't commensurate with other high end places. The entrees should be $5-$7 less per entree then I would find this a good place.
Great grilled octopus!
Good food. Aloof service.
We went to Herb & Bitter on New Year’s Eve, and by far the best thing about the experience was the cocktails. Everything else was solid, but not as good as we expected based on other reviews. We’ll definitely go back for drinks at their awesome bar, but probably won’t eat here again.
The food, service and everything else about H & B is better than sex.
Interesting and delicious cocktails with tasty small plates. Definitely recommended.
Herb & Bitter is our go to place to meet friends after work. Even on a very busy night, our server was grace under fire. We have the patience as the rewards are incredible drinks beautifully presented. It is so nice to have a server who listens to what your likes/dislikes are and can have their amazing barender come up with amazing 'whimsy' cocktails.
Amazing food and drinks! Our waiter was funny and attentive!
good place for a drink but don't go for the food, other than apps.
The ambiance here is very well done, and we had ample time to enjoy it because we waited nearly an hour before we even got our order taken. The restaurant week menu had a good, varied selection, but some of the items on the small, prix fixe menu were unavailable. The dishes that we did get were quite tasty, I particularly enjoyed the dukkah and pepper jelly halloumi. The drinks are also excellent and quite inventive, although we noted parties around us had trouble getting the drinks they ordered, either because they were out of some of the ingredients or didn't bring them the correct order.
We went for Seattle Resturant week. The ambiance is dark and vintage-y with really cute décor. The drinks are great and the menu was inserted into old children's books which I thought was a cute touch. The charcuterie board (first course) was amazing, but the other two course of our restaurant week menu were terrible under cook pasta with wearied sauce, and shrimp with roasted potatoes odd combo and under cooked.
Our favorite happy hour gathering place. If you don't know what to order, but have an idea, ask for a whimsy. You will not be disappointed. To compliment your drinks, order their charcuterie plate and supplement with their split pea fritters and fried cauliflower. Herb & Bitter is the best place to enjoy and relax in a cozy and friendly atmosphere.
Great ambiance and great Happy Hour menu. Service was quick and friendly and food and drinks were lovely.
The menu was limited but delicious. The vibe was great.
Great craft cocktails and service and food too
Positive experience all around.. will definitely return!
Thank you Michael for making it a very pleasant evening!
We love this place. Creative cocktails, delicious food in a warm inviting atmosphere!
Loved the ambiance and quick service.
We will for sure come back again
I usually don’t write reviews, but my recent experience at Herb and Bitter compels me to write something. Our group actually had a great time catching up but the food was woeful. 3 of our 8 dishes had to be sent back. The first two dishes were burnt and the 3rd dish had a piece of steel wool INSIDE the lamb slider we ordered. The lamb sliders themselves were dry and the brioche bread was even drier. Considering how much money we ended up spending, this was one of the worst meals I’ve had to pay for in a long time. To be fair, they did drop those 3 meals from our check and added 4 desserts, which was the right gesture, but even the desserts weren’t that great. Overall they need to improve their kitchen immensely. If you’re coming here for food, beware. If you’re coming here only for drinks, the ambiance and selection is fantastic.
As always a great experience. The. Whimsy (barteners choice based upon your spirit and taste) was up to the usual standard.
Food was really good. Really glad for the Halloumi. Really great addditon - at least since the last time I was there.
Service was okay at best! Food was good... however, missing ingredients.
This place is always open for us when other places are not. The menu always blows us away—it's our palate, to a t. The cocktails are fresh and inventive. And we will never tire of the elegance of the up lights, the pushed ceiling and the wallpaper!
Really awkward and bad service
The absolute worst food ever. If it wasn’t drowned in salt if had zero flavour.
We sat on the back patio, and it was lovely. The server was timely and friendly. The cocktails were great - I had the Riff Raff, and it was nicely balanced with a decent kick. We had both the charcuterie and cheese platters and enjoyed both. I wouldn't recommend the mushroom croquettes, though. The flavor was not as vibrant as we expected, and they were really dry. The prices weren't bad for the quality (except for the croquettes), but I wouldn't call it a value. Overall, it was a good experience, and we would try it again.
Group of us were able to sit on back patio- great ambience, great server- wait time for food was minimal. It is not an extensive menu but everything we ordered was very good. I would rather have a place do several exceptional dishes than to offer a lot and have it be mediocre. We had a great time and will certainly be back. A hidden little gem!
Great place, creative menu, a bit expansive for what is set on the plate. Awesome bar and cocktail venue
Tasty small plates. Nice and prompt service. Good energy to the place. Our large group really enjoyed our first visit here.
The server mastered the mix of being there when we needed her without being too in our face. We got our drinks and food speedily for a Friday night and it was all so delicious!
Amazing drinks and good apps and food. My only downfall from attending was that the food was just good, not unreal. Went with 4 friends and two got the lamb sliders, one got a steak and I got the shrimp and potatoes. My meal was definitely the best of all three, with that said thought the food would be a little bit better since it's a gastropub. However, I really enjoyed the ambiance and would come back for drinks and apps.
If you have a cocktail, make it a creative one. If you don't know what to order, ask for the Bartender's Whimsy and have one crafted to your liking. Compliment your cocktails with their creative Eats that pair well with any cocktail.
I had a party of 20 ladies and the wait staff was very attentive and courteous to us all.
A favorite spot of mine to catch-up with friends or family. Always tasty and pleasant.
We were there for a work going away party. Everything was great!
