Celebrating wife’s birthday. Took about 30 minutes to get order, which we thought was unusual.
Celebrating wife’s birthday.
Amazing service, delicious food.
Banana bread French toast was amazing.
Food was good but not great. Service was good, ambiance was good
Only 4 people
Very elegant experience and delicious food. The cocktails and wines were excellent as was the service.
Fantastic food and great service!! Chef Enio is stellar! Thanks for a special night
Service not knowledgeable, ambiance non existent, food unmemorable. Meh. Waste of $200.
Dinner was good, I had an appetizer selection for my entree and it was barely warm so I think it was made too early. The service was wonderful AK was very attentive as was all the staff! Dessert was lovely as well. Just felt it was a very limited menu but liked local sources and freshness of food. Will return for another night at the theater.
Great place to sit on patio or before a theater show. Would recommend serving martinis in larger glasses. The small gimlet glasses leave a customer feeling slighted. Maybe recommend adding a Chablis wine to the menu.
Only person in the restaurant. 40 minutes and a reminder to the wait staff that I has not been received my meal.
Had to send the egg back (cooked to rubber). Shrimp and grits with a sweet bbq sauce missed the mark. Grits were like paste.
Mgr did comp the meal. Would never return
Gross. The hamburger was loaded with a gross onion ring. I do not recommend this dive.
Service staff was great. Dining room is REALLY noisy. Hard to hear people at your own table even when speaking up. Food was just OK. Nothing special in a town of superb food. We were served vichyssoise as a "muse" served in shot glasses, but it was too thick to "shoot" and it came with no spoons, so we tried forks and gave up. All the vegetables were good except the potato cake which was not crisp but more like mushy hashbrowns with a ton of rosemary. It overwhelmed the delicate taste of the tiny amount of lobster that came with the surf and turf. Staff was really great tho.
Outside of the deviled eggs and mussels, the food was bland, lacked flavor, and overall unsatisfying. The catch of the day was very underwhelming, as the Grouper is a notoriously great entree, but it was slightly overcooked, unseasoned, and paired with bland beans. Server was terrific, and overall customer service was great.
We would not recommend it. There are many better restaurants in Charleston.
Breakfast was good- but unfortunately, it was not anything special. The coffee cake was delicious but breakfast seemed like a typical breakfast. If you’re looking for a solid breakfast & cute atmosphere- it’s definitely a good choice... but if you’re wanting something wow-ing, I wouldn’t recommend.
A bit pricey, but cannot complain as our dinner was delightful. Excellent food, "service with a smile" and nice atmosphere. We'll be back!
Love love love! We enjoy meeting with friends there and the staff is excellent! I love that they always remember us! Thanks Sarah!
We'd booked a table through Open Table for snacks and cocktails prior to an event close by. One of the options when booking was 'Happiest Hour'--which we'd selected although it was noted we could order from regular menu as well. We were seated quickly and then told that because we were in the dining room, we were not able to order from the 'Happiest Hour' menu at all. By this time, we were short on time and options so, ordered small plates and cocktails from the regular menu offerings. The French 75 was so lemon-y it was like eating sour gummies. Another cocktail that was to have been made with brandy was most certainly made with scotch and despite being passed around the table to find a taker, it sat there and another drink was ordered. In all fairness, I did call the next day and received apologies about the "misunderstanding" from the manager but, after a $200+ tab and leaving hungry, we probably won't be going back.
Great service, great food! We loved it!
We had our anniversary dinner here and so glad we did. The food was outstanding, but what made it even better was our server, AJ who was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. It was like have dinner at a friends house (one that can whip up gourmet food that is). We also ate breakfast here during our stay which was excellent - again, the servers could not have been more attentive - thanks for a great experience!
Best (banana nut) French toast ever.
Awesome service, especially Laura.
Anwar is a great waiter!! Great recommendations!
The worse meal I've ever had in Charleston. No excuse at this price point.
Food took 90 minutes and was cold. Server was indifferent and said he was not holding it intentionally. Waited 15 minutes for a manager. Manager took off 1 entre and 2 glasses of wine. $60 for 1 entre and appetizer. Poor!
We had a very pleasant breakfast here with friends.
Lovely and fabulous
This upscale restaurant in an upscale hotel borders on perfection. To start, it is sophisticated and quiet. The diners all appear to recognize this and were dressed appropriately in business casual, a step up from most Charleston dining venues. The menu is limited, but has choices for every palette. The service is also outstanding; our waiter noticed that the steak ordered medium arrived medium-well and had the kitchen redo the entire plate. The fish special was a truly outstanding grouper on a bed of mixed peas in pods. And the desserts were in-house made ice cream based. An excellent dining experience.
Extremely cold in the dining room. All six of us were cold .
The lunch "special" was $18 and consisted of a cup of corn soup with bacon bits and a piece of bacon on white toast. All food was lukewarm and somewhat tasteless. Of all the restaurants we had gone to...husk, peninsula, 5church, bennett hotel, prohibition this was by far the worst choice. Would never go back.
Service was attentive, nice atmosphere and great food. Would definitely recommend
Experienced a very rude server. We came for brunch on Sunday but were told that it wasn’t served until 11:00am so we couldn’t order and the waitress refused to see if the kitchen could make us the French toast on the brunch menu. Won’t ever return.
The best table service we have had in years. Delicious food and amazing desserts.
Wonderful celebration of our Anniversary. Thank you for the excellent service and great food.
The restaurant was oversold for what we received. Small portion sizes for the over-priced meals. $20 for shrimp and grits? $10 for a small mimosa. There are other restaurants which provide far more for less. Good luck!
We did not get Mother’s Day brunch as expected. We were told by server that brunch started at 11:00. Table next to us was told brunch started at 10:30. They got brunch menu, we did not. Should not have been a separation between breakfast and brunch on a holiday. Limited breakfast menu. My entree not great but others at the table were pleased with what they ordered. $5 for cup of coffee too pricey. Would not return. Too many better options in Charleston
Food was excellent. Service was slow. Took 15 min for anyone to say anything to us. Took another 25 min for meals to arrive. A family at the table next to us who arrived 20 min after we did actually received all of their meals before us. Then it took forever to get the check. Once we did receive, the waiter mixed our ticket up with another table’s, so my card was used on the wrong ticket. This took even more time to clear up, and we were trying to get somewhere because it was Mother’s Day. Never received one of the items we ordered. I think the waiter may have been new. Anyway, we would try again and give it another shot. I’m sure it’s not always like this.
