Extremity. Disappointed, My husband ordered the Wagyu steak and it tasted like a salt shaker was dropped on it. It was nearly inedible. I order the trout and it was thin, dry, and bland. The Brussel sprouts were also mushy and over cooked. In addition to the menu disappointments, the bathroom was not in the restaurant. We had to leave the restaurant, go through the hotel lobby and take the elevator the the 8th floor to use the restroom. Honestly (as a local), I’d run for my life. Worst $200+ we’ve spent.
When we went the restaurant was only virtually empty and had filled up by the time we left but was only three quarters full at best. The ambiance was nice and the staff was upbeat and kind. Billed as a "foodie" place to eat with a menu to match they underachieve. Possibly its a COVID staffing issue but the waiter missed some of the orders or mixed them up. The bar which looks to be very kitsche and high end cool with interesting drinks couldn't seem to get all our drinks out at the same time. My wife's glass of wine arrived several minutes after the mixed drinks were on the table. Her second glass never came. Everything seemed to come out slow. The whole flow of the meal was off with a long lull between finishing appetizers and getting our meals.
The food was average fare. Seems like they are trying to be creative but its just mediocre. As one of the other reviewers mentioned the pork belly is way over cooked. Seeing as they have had this complaint before yet the chef continues to serve it this way seems it wont change.
With so many amazing restaurants to chose from in this amazing city I would suggest Henley be left for the hotel guests that need to grab a meal and don't want to go out.
The duck meatloaf is a MUST. Staff is amazing. This place is a gem!
I will be supportive of Henley for as long as possible. I really hope they make it, because I've always said they have the best cocktails in town. I was just let down this time, because I was not aware the limits they were under for brunch. We were told mimosas and bloody marys only. We were also told they don't do valet anymore, so that was strange since they are in the hotel. We got seated and the food was fantastic, but you could definitely tell the air of covid. We had to ask for silverware. We had a shareable dish but no plates. Things like that. But again, they killed it with the food. I really hope they can pull it off with the challenges and move forward successfully. I will continue to support them.
Best food we had in Tennessee! Husband had the Wagyu strip and I had the Scallop Gnocchi. The desserts were even better. We tried the chocolate soufflé and the banana pudding. Excellent!
Staff was fantastic!
Food was tasty. Really enjoyed the table shareables Brussels sprouts and smoked bbq carrots. Cocktails were solid.
Great spot for cocktails and a good meal. Never been disappointed by anything I’ve eaten. Must try in Nash
Service and ambiance was outstanding! Good wine & beverage selections. The food was adequate/good. A lot of flavor but not exceptional. I ordered the gnocchi...complex flavors but the gnocchi was soggy. It wasn’t a bad experience at all and don’t regret it, but would make a different choice for a next visit.
Super fun night with friends!!
I've eaten there a couple of times over the past year. Although the menu is not as large as you see is most restaurants, everything I've had has been excellent. My only reservation is the waiter didn't seem familiar with the items on the menu. Maybe new.
Thanksgiving menu was very small and it was challenging to find something each person actually wanted. They would not substitute or accommodate for switching a different side with the chosen protein. Everyone ended up getting burgers. The tables around us were dirty when we were seated and they still had not been bussed when we left almost 2 hours later. Hostess and server were friendly. We ordered a meat and cheese board which was a pretty sad excuse for an appetizer. Dessert was the only part of the meal we enjoyed. Overall not terrible but would not recommend.
Absolutely delicious! Loved the atmosphere! Great customer service! Ate at the bar, loved the bartender’s and decided to eat there even though we had a reservation for a table…look forward to coming back next time we are in town!
Great service. Enjoyed the cocktails and the atmosphere.
Our waiter, Brian, was on point. He said they had a new menu, but we weren’t overly impressed by it. Maybe trying a bit too hard at being creative and unique. The pastrami beet salad was one recipe that actually worked. Limited entrees (we tried gnocchi and duck meatloaf) on the menu were OK. Desserts we tried were banana pudding and the blondie sundae. Both were “OK”.
The restaurant is nice! The food is good. However, I ad the avocado toast for brunch, and the food portion was small for the price. The service was awful! The server took 20 minutes to greet our table after being prompted. Following that, he never came to the table unless being prompted.
The food and vibe was good but it was certainly hotel prices with machine made coffee.
Unimpressive. They didn’t have our reservation, sat us anyway bc it wasn’t busy (not surprised after dining there) then later opentable had to contact me about missing it. The food was mediocre, same with the service and ambience, and the band was *way* too loud for brunch - actually gave me a headache. They don’t validate for valet parking anymore — even though they’re connected to the hotel and there’s no other parking nearby. There are so many great spots for brunch in Nashville — definitely skip this one.
Food was not good
A great restaurant for grown-ups - nice atmosphere, very good food, wine list is filled with great values!
Poor service and poor food only good thing was the jazz music
Server was slow and rude. Food was very good.
Great breakfast spot. Very intimate dining experience.
First time trying this restaurant and it’s so delicious, I can’t believe how affordable it was! Our server was great, the food and drinks were great, and the location is perfect if you’re looking to get away from busy Broadway
They were very accommodating for our group of 12 and everyones food was delish!
While the food was good, our waiter put a slight damper on our experience. He was unfriendly and bordered on rude. He was condescending when we asked questions. Probably will not return .
I would not dine here again. It is in a hotel and we were seated practically on top of another party who were very loud. Although this is somewhat out of the restaurant's control, I didn't think the food was particularly worth it for the price.
Did they run out of salt? We had the brie that's served with pickled berries, nothing else. It was good, but we ordered some Everything Sorghum Rolls to accompany it. The rolls were nice and fluffy and baked well, however, there wasn't even a hint of Sorghum and the "everything" topping seemed to be missing salt, garlic, pepper... lol. Next we had the barley "risotto". The barley is the risotto. Some of the mushrooms were so tough we couldn't even chew them. And again, this lacked salt and any other discernible flavor. This place missed the mark for sure.
This is a critique of the breakfast service: lukewarm, bordering on rude, at least by Nashville standards of friendliness. The eggs were overcooked and the grits were terrible compared to the grits offered on the scallop n grits dinner menu. There's a sense of desperation or disinterest in the operation of the waitstaff, hard to say...either way it spells trouble if not addressed.
Anyway, dinner was the same vibe, but the food was exponentially better and prepared by someone who actually cared about the culinary experience.
Food and drinks were all very tasty! Would definitely go back.
The ambiance and live jazz music was great. The delayed service and mediocre food, was not.
It was a great! I got the brisket reginetti and it reminded me of a deconstructed lasagna it was delicious. My wife got the scallops and grits and she said the consistency of the grits was perfect and her dish was amazing.
All was very good. Just had some issues with server being a little condescending.
Our group is vegetarian, and/or veggie preferred. We enjoyed several of the chef’s vegetarian dishes - loved them all! The corn chowder, barley risotto, and carrot radish shareable were outstanding!! We had to order a second fried Brie - WOW!! The space is beautifully decorated and our server was great!! Very satisfied and would highly recommend - thank you!!!
I have been to Henley for dinner and it was fantastic, so we decided to try them out for brunch. Unfortunately we did not realize their bartender was not available until later in the day, so they were only serving mimosas and a fairly anticlimactic Bloody Mary. The food was good, but I expected it to be at the same level as our dinner experience, however it slightly missed the mark. The ambience was great of course and the live jazz music was definitely a plus. Overall, I would recommend for dinner but not necessarily for brunch.
The menu is exceptional, the corn chowder with bone marrow was a MASSIVE standout. My hanger steak was cooked to perfection (Med Rare), though this was a petite steak.
We had dinner on Friday night. The server was very attentive and checked on us often enough. We were in the corner of the back room so the accoustics were a bit unpleasent, but nothing deal breaking. I had the crispy pork belly, which was overall very good. My wife had chicken, which was not as enjoyable. The cocktails were decent, and well presented. Overall, I feel the price tag was well beyond the experience.
Everything was great!
Very mediocre and extremely overpriced. I get what they are trying to do with the menu selection, but it just was not it. I had the quail and I did not like it. Also got the fried potatoes appetizer, not very good either. Mac and cheese that my friend got was pretty good though. $75 ticket for two was not worth the (at best) average food and tiny table we were seated at. Also, it was so dark in there.
